"Second Visit...Just as good!"
We stayed at the Intercontinental Toronto Centre for the second time for another weekend stay in Toronto. Again, parking was not convenient or great in the "official" garage, which is the convention center parking (~$30 CAD/night), and was worsened by the construction going on in the garage. Yes, you can valet, but I don't think it's worth the extra cost. Valet cost is about on par with New York City (~$50 CAD). There are parking lots essentially across the street where you can park for much cheaper. We had booked a Junior Suite room on a high floor overlooking the lake, as we had stayed in that room on our first visit and love it, but we were upgraded to a junior suite on their club level which allowed access to the club lounge. The person that checked us in, Shannon', at the ambassador desk was cheerful and pleasant and gave us all the information we needed to make our stay enjoyable! We had a similar pleasing experience at check-in the last time we stayed, so this property is doing a great job in that regard! The club level suite we were given had not been updated with the modern furnishings that we had experience in our last suite, but interestingly, the room was bigger and had a larger separate sitting area with a separate TV, which we enjoyed a lot. This time around we had a view of the Toronto skyline, as opposed to the water, but that was a welcome change to experience the different views this location offers. On our return however, I will ensure we have a lake view! If you don't need the services of the club lounge, do request the renovated rooms overlooking the lake. The club lounge was a nice perk. While not on par with other club lounges we have experienced, it was nice to have the option to have a light breakfast and snacks throughout the day, as well as non-alcoholic beverages (including a nespresso!). The staff was friendly and I appreciated the fact that we could complete "front-desk" requests with the lounge personnel, such as check-out. We ordered room service one night, after doing the Toronto Haunted walking tour, and the food was great, albeit expensive. I'm pretty sure the food was prepared by the on-site restaurant, Azure. Note, they include all service charges and tip in the bill, so only only tip extra if you feel the need to. Our food actually arrived in 15 minutes, which was really impressive for the amount of food and dessert we ordered. Feel free to read my other review for review of location, but this is one of the best locations and hubs for stating in Toronto in my opinion, certainly if you plan on attending one of the major sporting team games (leafs, raptors, bluejays), or if you want to visit the lakeshore. Overall, another great stay, and will certainly be back! Hats off again to the great staff at this property!
"Great stay and nice hotel "
I enjoyed staying in this hotel for 2 nights, for business trip I enjoyed it very much, the hotel is clean, quite and good location to access the town , highly recommended. Break fast is a wonderful. I went to hockey show place, Sony Center for performence art and it was amazing.
"Convenient, Clean, and Quiet"
Here for a large conference held at the Convention Centre North, the hotel is a short walk from Union Station. The hotel is reasonably modern, with a large lobby, quick check-in and experienced staff. I was able to get my room earlier in the day which allowed me to drop my bags off and get to the conference. The rooms are reasonably spacious, clean and well-appointed. My only complaint would be the coffee machine (Keurig) is tucked away in a cabinet. Guests have to dig the machine out and figure out where to plug it in. Not a great set-up and obviously done to keep the room looking uncluttered, or perhaps discourage its use. Otherwise the bath and bed amenities were all good. The room and HVAC were quiet and the temperature was comfortable. Hall noise was a minimum.
"Gave my room away!!!"
Imagine arriving at 11:30 at night expecting to go up to bed and instead finding out that the hotel room that you had pre-paid in full for and you had notified the hotel of your late arrival, had been given to another guest..... not impressed. I was booked in a king bed suite and their "let's make it up to you" was to book me at the holiday inn downtown in a very unimpressive twin room (no offence meant to the holiday inn). I will never stay at that hotel again!
My husband and I were able to check in early at 11am which was so convenient as we were seeing the Jays play at 1! We walked to the Rogers Centre in 5 min. Check in was a breeze and they even upgraded our room to a higher floor and the view was incredible! We had a view of the CN Tower and the lake, it's the best view we ever had staying in TO! The bed was super comfy and the lobby smells heavenly, no complaints and will definitely be back!
