The travel time from dubai is around 1-1.5hrs. A bit tiring, yes. But once you get to the hotel, you'll forget everything. It is so so nice, that you will want to explore around at once. Its an ideal place to relax and unwind :)
"Everything you need"
Passed through Dubai for a few days as a stopover.hotel was ideal.There is a nice view of Dubai skyline from the front door, good price, room has everything, rooftop pool is nice, great place to cool off.staff are really nice and helpful.free WiFi in reception.have to pay in rooms. 40 Durham to airport,and 20 to 30 to Dubai mall.not centrally located but close to everything..really enjoyed the stay
"A real italuan buffet"
We had dinner at olive oil restaurant, it was an italian buffet We loved the foid as it was a real professional italuan buffet, food was delecious, service was excellent It was a small restaurant but well organized, atmosphere was good The chef welcomed usvupon our arrival and we were offered extra items which is prepared in the ketchen like the pasta We enjoyed the dinner very much
"Nice hotel, ruined by poor service and inefficient management"
I have stayed here for almost a month now as a business traveler, and also with my family. There are some good points regarding service and getting the right room when my family arrived.. however my overall experience here has left me realising that this has been the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I believe that the senior management are unable to engage their staff, or the staff just don't understand service, which is leading to dire customer service - of course everyone has been taught to apologize each time - but I experienced the same repeated issues nightly. When I checked in 1st time I had to wait at 4pm because my room wasn't ready. At the weekend I went to the pool, there was no beds available - because the life guard allowed other guests to reserve the beds. Guest Noise outside of the room until 3am, and nothing done to stop it, a heavy crane that started lifting equipment to the roof at midnight, repeated piped music playing at random times during the night. (As I write this a child is playing with a remote toy car in the corridor). I checked out of the room and into another hotel just to get a good nights sleep, (which was refunded) but the repeated issues clearly show a lack of good management. This morning my car was actually blocked in due to the valet parking directly behind my car'' No doubt Mr Hoffmeister (GM) has a some comment, but you should have fixed these problems before I was left with no choice but to check out. Btw - I am staying in Ibis Styles, this hotel is very close by and much better on all aspects. (And breakfast is included at a cheaper price than Jameira Rotana). My advice to anyone that is considering booking this hotel - it might be a cheaper option hotel, it might be recently re-furbished, but service is currently far below a good standard (even acceptable standard). Food in the restaurant is basic with limited choice at breakfast, and the brunch option in the new restaurant is over priced - which is why it is empty most nights. The hotel has a good bar but at weekends and holidays attracts the usual Saudi clientele that don't show or aren't capable of being aware of other guests. There are better hotel options also close by in this area.
I reached the hotel at 14 20 hrs on Monday 12 September with booking online for two nights. With 4 rooms for 2 families.the front desk avail one room for each family and they gave us the 2nd room number till they are ready. Unfortunately we got 2 room.the desk staff were trying to get the other 2 rooms from housekeeping but they said wait another 30 min. The 30 min finished and no rooms ready! I've called the desk and they said not yet. So I went for swimming for 2 hrs. And told the desk to call me when the rooms are ready. Again nothing there. I've went out from swimming pool wet wet Because I need the other room for me and my wife. Then he told me (desk staff) @1730hrs to give 30 min for room ventilation'! I ve accepted and desk told me at 1800hrs it will be ready. I came to the reception and asked them to give me the room 313 But it still in my dreams'! Then I asked them nervously to upgrade the room . Then a manager his name Mark or Marcus Came to us after a call from Mr.Rami and he said I will check status of this room . Unfortunately he didn't show up. Thank you Rotana for dealing with us in such way. And I will put this feedback on booking as I am guru for most UAE . Believe me I will ask my friends to change their idea about Rotana hotels hospitality and customer care. Note: Another story was there but I will not talk about it here. Thank you .
