"" As THRILLING as it gets " - Desert safari @ Abu Dhabi"
Hi all , Me and my colleagues went for a DESERT SAFARI in ABU DHABI . It was like a " ROLLER COASTER ON WHEELS " . Then it's followed by sand skating viz again great , followed by belly dance . Food provided was also really good . You must book in advance and I personally suggest MR. SANAL , as the DESERT SAFARI DRIVER .
"Great location, nice looking hotel but that's it!- VERY BAD, SLOW SERVICE AND NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY AT ALL!"
I travel to the UAE frequently nearly every other month and this has got to be one of the worst hotel's I've stayed in for a long time in terms of service and room quality. Traveled with my family, young baby and toddler. The black out blinds in the room were pretty much useless with the gap between the top of the curtains and ceiling so the light beams in. Room is incredibly unsafe for babies who are mobile (crawling) with sharp edges and levitating shelves my son constantly bumped his head. Hand shower mount on bath tub was broken. Now the real issues..... Pool, lobby and in room service was highly disappointing! The staff seem pleasant however can not deliver a good service and probably due to not even people on duty. Lobby - waited over 20 mins a number of times to order some food/drink - but resulted in me having to chase or find someone to bring us some menus! Ordered breakfast once - our food arrived, but my son's breakfast did not arrive until 10-15 minutes later. Pool service - again no one around always having to go hunt for someone to take our food/drink orders. In-room dining - on our last night we ordered breakfast - was told 30 mins and food did not arrive until 1 hour 10 mins. This isnt acceptable for anyone, but when a child is waiting this long for food its a disgrace! Especially food and drink in the hotel is very expensive. One of the days I was at the "kids pool" with my son, I noticed water droplets falling and it turns out that the window cleaners have been flicking the water and falling all over the pool and beach area. Upon returning to my lounger, I discovered that the water was absolutely filthy black, leaving countless black stains over our towels, cloths and even over a our drinks. It was horrific! Many people complained including myself, they tried to bring us more towels but then immeditely got covered in black stains... the window cleaning just continued and had to cut short as a result. They said we can move somewhere else, but the whole point of being by the "kids pool" is because I had a toddler with me! The F+B manager who came over at the time - did nothing to rectify the situation, I also complained about the food/service issues I had and said he would investigate. I also informed him I would like to speak with the duty manager or for them to call me... I heard nothing more since then on anything. Absolutely disgusted!! It was only on check out where i had to tell them I did not enjoy my stay and was not happy! They seemed concerned and asked for someone to come out to speak to me... but ultimately did nothing to ressolve the situation the offer of good will was more of a slap in a face. On top of that, my baby son was ill on the last day we had to call a Doctor. The call they made to the hospital they tried to charge the cost of that to my room... unbelievable!!!
"Luxury at its best"
a beautiful hotel, modern and elegant. has its own strip of private beach, two pools, loads of speciality restaurants ranging from Lebanese to Continental to Italian. staff are particularly cordial and highly efficient and attentive to even the minute of requests. the lifts are super fast and the rooms are huge as are the bathrooms. the views from the room are absolutely stunning. I stayed on the 28th floor, but the rooms on higher floors must be more awesome. Did not get the chance to order room service as I preferred eating the huge buffet spread at The Rosewater restaurant just one drawback though, there was no locks on the bathroom doors, and would be a problem if not with your fiance
"An amazing week"
A fantastic hotel. Nothing to complain just enjoy. Wonderful view from our room was on the 40th floor with a delicious breakfast. The staff is so friendly. Do not forget the observation deck !! We will be back !!
"Amazing structure, but lacking atmosphere and soul."
Just returned from AD. Spent a long time choosing a hotel in AD, and finally chose this one because it looked so amazing - gleaming towers rising into the sky. We had originally picked a two bed apartment - but we were so disappointed when we were shown the room - with such an amazing view over the sea and the surroundings - but the windows were absolutely filthy! And I mean horrendously filthy - thick brown dust all over them, you could barely see outside. In addition the apartment - which was very pricey - was very basic, no luxury at all. We had also informed them we were on honeymoon - but nothing special in the room for that. I went to reception and told them my concerns, and they were extremely helpful, moving us to two connecting rooms which were much nicer - but still the windows were filthy. Apparently this is a problem in AD - the dust coats everything in sight. I understand that - but then surely there should be a team of cleaners constantly cleaning the windows' For the prices they are charging that is what I would expect. And it defeats the object of a high rise glass hotel if you can't see through the windows! Talking of prices - WOW. You need a second mortgage to stay here. £10 for a glass of beer, £45 CHEAPEST bottle of wine, £15 plain pizza - and the Waitrose downstairs is also extortionate and doesn't sell alcohol. I must emphasise the wonderful staff - nothing is too much trouble, they are always smiling and helpful, customer service is second to none. Management - please note - your staff are to be commended, they are doing a wonderful job, from reception (Elmar - what a star!), down to housekeeping, thoroughly spotless inside. We had breakfast included, which was faultless, and we also attended the Friday Brunch in Naahm Restaurant which was pricey but amazing. All in all sadly the hotel is lacking something though - I'm not even sure what it is - it just has no atmosphere or soul. Such a shame because it could - and should, be amazing.
