"Fabulous Cliff Top Location"
We booked our stay here at the very last minute, so we feel we probably did not have the best room allocation and paid an exorbitant price for our stay. That being said we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this well appointed hotel with is fabulous views. We would have to agree with other reviews about the high cost of drinks at the hotel. As a result few guests eat in the restaurants or drink at the bar, so the hotel lacks any atmosphere. Such a shame. If beverages were more competitively priced we are sure more guest would dine and drink in. This would create a warmer atmosphere. Apart from breakfasts, which were beautiful, we walked down to the town most evenings. The walk back is steep but is great exercise after a large meal. The hotel is well run and the rooms well appointed with, in our case, a stunning sea view. The communal areas are however very formal. Service overall is excellent and the Spa is superb. It really is a beautiful hotel in a fantastic spot.
"Enjoyed our stay"
We stayed at the hotel because we attended a wedding ceremony that took place there and we wanted to be close. Having had some experience with Jumeirah brand, we were looking forward to a quality stay. We were disappointed at the check in as our room was somewhat underwhelming for the rate and had a weird canalization smell. We tried to change the room straight away, but the hotel was booked out, so we had to remain in the same room the first night. The lady at the reception, however, promised to move us the next day. The breakfast restaurant was very nice the next morning. It had a beautiful setting overlooking the sea. Food selection at the buffet was very good and the service was on par with 5 star resorts. The check in lady was true to her word and we were moved to another room the following day. We were pleasantly surprised to find out it was a suite on a higher floor with a much better view, which we enjoyed very much. At least then we felt that the rate we paid for the room was worth it. We had a dinner one night at Cap Roig and enjoyed the tapas there. The portions though were quite small and very expensive, I think we were paying for the service and set up, both of which were very good. We also had a lunch at the infinity pool and the service there was very slow. The food was quite good, however. All in all, it was an enjoyable stay and the staff were very friendly and accommodative. It would have not been worth it, however, if not for the room upgrade.
A very sophisticated hotel, situated high up over Port de Soller. We stayed in a Deluxe Mountain View room, overlooking the mountains and the town. The room was top class, with detailing and finish of very high standard, and a comfortable bed. The hotel consists of a number of smaller buildings on different levels, connected by gardens and stairs. The two pools and the spa offered different views of the surroundings, and were all calm and relaxing. The breakfast had all you wanted of high quality food. Also the food on the restaurants was excellent, although the sushi restaurant could have been more genuine Japanese. Concierge was helpful and enthusiastic. In all, a place you want to come back to. When you are here, you are tempted to remain at the hotel all your time at Mallorca.
"Perfect Summer family spot!"
I travelled back and forth from Majorca 6 times over the summer for my DJ work and took one week off between gigs to have some sun and spend some time with my Mother. We booked a suite at this hotel and spent a lot of the days at the spa and walking to the port to take in the beauty of the area. Majorca has the most idyllic surroundings but sometimes people mainly think its a partyzone and focus on the negative things they've heard. The island actually has so much to offer.. its vast and just a 45 min drive away from the airport you can find the quieter and more quintessential Spain that we all love. The hotel itself is very large and set out of a cliff top looking over a stunning bay and port. The ocean views are amazing and the whole place has a very relaxed feeling even though its very family friendly. We went for rooms that were near the spa which were quieter. The food was great and there are a lot of restaurants to chose from the bar was also the place to watch the sunset each night and they really look after to you. The views from the eating areas are quite something. The spa has the most amazing pool Jacuzzi.. Staff were friendly and informative and the GM was very welcoming too. I would highly recommend this hotel if you're a couple or part of a family..
"Fab for a mini break!"
My friend and I stayed here on my Sirius points for a long weekend, and WOW! I've stayed and been to conferences in a number of Jumeirah hotels in Dubai, and this lives up to the Jumeirah reputation in style. The cliff-top location means the hotel is rather long, thin and stepped, so it seems a total maze if you arrive in the dark, but there's always a lift-and-ramp option to get where you need to go if you don't fancy the stairs or are dragging luggage. It's lovely to have the courtyard in the middle though, as the rooms open onto balconies rather into enclosed corridors which makes it feel really airy. We found breakfast very good, but generally ate other meals outside the hotel as there are so many great options in town, and the (steep) walk back uphill to the hotel means you've burnt off half your dinner by the time you get back! We made good use of the infinity pool and the pool bar, with the beautiful view over the sea and Port Soller. We also used the gym, which is at the good end of hotel gyms, and enjoyed our free access to the spa for a jacuzzi. Our room was technically mountain view, which is dramatic enough on its own, but because of the position of the hotel you still get a view of Port Soller as well! We spent plenty of time on the balcony just taking in the view. The room was lovely, although the bathroom/wardrobe layout was a little awkward with two friends who don't particularly want to see each other in the shower! Easily managed though. We enjoyed a day out hiking to Deia (although here's the worst thing about the hotel - the concierge got the bus information wrong and because it was a Sunday there was no bus and it's REALLY hard to get a cab!!), as well as a trip up to Soller on the tram. I'd never really thought about visiting Mallorca before, because of the reputation of Palma and Magaluf, but Port Soller changed my mind completely. I'd love to come back... when I have enough Sirius points!
