"It just doesn't matter"
We visited the JW in June 2015. Nothing was smooth about that stay but I did address this with management and was compensated with some Marriott Rewards Points. NOW TO THIS VISIT... Most major hotel chains make every effort to acknowledge their top tier guests. This was my second and last time back here. I am a lifetime Platinum... purchased (with both points and US DOLLARS) the JW luxury suite. I reserved the room in August 2016. I called and communicated via Marriott Chat to reinforce that this was a special visit. No less than 15 times I requested the best available view, high floor (which is in my profile) and upgrade if possible. I called 3 time the week prior to our arrival to be sure my request was registered. It should be noted that the living room space was the critical space and was noted in every correspondence. I checked in... we were given 438 which was a JW suite with a large sitting area (living room) and a separate bedroom. The only view was the very large straw top of the towel hut or activity hut. I went downstairs and discretely had a discussion with a front desk personnel. After quite some time we were moved to 1139. Yes a suite but 100% opposite than our request...very large bedroom with a very small den-like area adjacent ...at best able to seat 4 small people. Sorry to say that this Marriott Loyalist will transition to STARWOOD with pleasure! What a bad taste this hotel has left with me...Lifetime Platinum with well over 1500 nights with Marriott! DISGUSTED!!!
"Always a great choice. "
As I lie in bed thinking about the day I have to say that staying at the Marriott always makes any vacation that much better. The hotel staff could not be better. They are warm, efficient and always smiling. From the front door to the gardeners you cannot ask for better staff. My husband is a Platinum Elite Marriott member and we were upgraded even before we stepped onto the property. We were greeted by Edouard Korchounov who made it his business to make sure we were happy which included a room change and we cannot thank him enough. The property is spotless and you can see that they are upgrading many of the areas. The pools are well maintained and my only issue are the guests who put down towels take chairs and never show. The staff is aware and cannot do anything about it. The breakfast buffet is great and the staff is efficient and very accommodating in every way. The Marriott is my choice and I am so happy to be here. Thanks for making our anniversary so memorable.
Fabulous staff & luxurious facility! A perfect weekend escape! Our servers at the pool, Sergio & Caesar, were friendly and responsive to our requests. From the moment we arrived, my wife and I knew we'd love the resort. The buffet breakfast was great and the restaurants all across the property are worth experiencing. The adjacent Marriott resort also has excellent restaurants and you can simply charge all bills to the room (from either property). It's nice to not have to carry cash or a card while on vacation. My wife and I have vacationed all around the world and the chaise lounge chairs at the JW Marriott pool have the thickest cushions and are nice and wide for people with broader shoulders. For those of you that feel cramped in the usual beach chair, you've got to try these. Can't wait for our return!
"Beautiful Resort; Excellent Staff"
The resort is beautiful, both the grounds/pool area and the rooms. The staff is so kind and nice. The service is excellent. I want to especially recognize Jairo at the Mansita restaurant and the hostess at Tamarine (the Asian restaurant). They were the best and always remembered our name. We stayed with our 1 year old babies and they were very accommodating. I suggest requesting a crib in advance of arrival to ensure you get one (or two, if you have twins) if the resort is fully booked. The pool area is very nice and tranquil. It never felt crowded. Chairs were always available, even though their seemed to be a lot of people at the resort. Pool side service is excellent too. They have special stands, like a mojito stand and sunset sangria, during the day. It was a nice touch. Breakfast choices at Mansita are excellent, and food was delicious. The resort is secluded, so don't expect to walk off the resort into a city. It's a bit of a drive into town.
"A slice of heaven!"
The JW is referred to by the locals as "hmmm fancy" and when you arrive, you know why. From the moment you enter, you are treated as if you are the only guest at the hotel. The service, from the concierge to the wonderful ladies who cleaned our rooms, is in a league all its own. There is nothing the staff will not assist with. I cannot sing their praises enough. Perfecto! The resort itself is a place of beauty. Every room is sea facing so you are guaranteed a breathtaking view. The rooms are magnificent. the restaurants within the resort are rated as some of the best in Cancun and deservedly so. The resort is walking distance to the Kukulcan Plaza and La Isla mall. It is thankfully not in the hub of the commercialism as well I would go back every time - Thank you JW for making this an even better experience
