"Will not honor US dollar quoted rates"
We were a quoted US dollars rate for our hotel stay and all purchased items (meals, drinks, etc) at the hotel showed the USD conversation rate on our receipts. At the time of checkout the bill was higher. After some discussion with the checkout personnel they acknowledged the error and confirmed that although the bill was in pesos we would be billed in USD based upon the quoted USD room rate and purchases receipt rates. When we got our credit card bill the USD amount was much higher. I once again contacted the hotel and they are saying they do not honor USD quoted rates. They are hiding behind their policy of billing in pesos and letting the rate float. So buyer beware, you will never know what you are paying in US dollars until you get the bill which most likely will be more than what was represented by the hotel at the time of transaction. I am referring this matter to Marriott Corporate.
"Not crowded feel at holiday season"
We arrived a week before Christmas having booked 3 rooms for family on the Club 91 floor. We had some little kids and we wanted access to food quickly when necessary. The rooms all had ocean views and the beds were comfy. The club room was convenient and the food was good, but a bit repetitious. What I really enjoyed was the sense that for a big hotel we did not feel that way or crowded at all. The pool services were nice and we had both a cabana and an ocean/beach front rented "cabin". The whole place just felt spacious. I also thought the pilates and yoga teachers were of high quality. I would definitely stay here again. From what I saw of the other "crowded" conditions I was happy with our unplanned choice. We originally were going to stay at the Paradisus. They bumped us for a huge company party that rented the whole place. It looked like a mad house. This place was great for Couples, Family, or Friends. Very pleased
Booked the trip through Costco. Stayed at the resort 10 nights. Jan 2017. The physical property and grounds are very very nice. Buts its the employees and their genuine friendliness and courtesy that go beyond and make the visitor feel welcome. Special thanks to Hidalgo, who is so fast and friendly in the pool and beach area. We would just go to his area for the day! The breakfast buffet is very good, but $25 per person. We opted for the take away coffee and breakfast sandwiches offered near the lobby. Both onsite restaurants are good, Sedona grill our favorite. We used the bus system that runs right in front of the hotel to go to town, also to the ferry that takes you out to isle mjueres and rented a golf cart. worth it. also went to Chichen itza, got a guide and really enjoyed the site. beware of the airport hawkers that look official as you are leaving the airport. It was easy to make our own arrangements.
"Relaxing & Exceptional Service"
Have stayed there many times. Tikki bar staff were unbeleivable. Remebered your name and greeted you by your name every day. Rooms are very nice and comfortable. This time our room was on North side and we got sunset view from our balcony. Breakfast buffet was fantastic. Found a real nice small local breakfast joint across from Flamingo plaza.
JW Cancun had the best suite we have stayed in. Ocean view. Elevator right to poolside. Food, pool, service were all outstanding. We took our two kids with us, ages 12 and 8 and all of us loved this resort. Incredible infinity pool. On site scuba training. We would stay at JW every year if we could.
