"Maybe I'm spoiled, but there are better"
Spent March 20-26 there. Checked into first room and found stains on the wall and the glass shower door was not clean.... told bellman and we were moved to another room that was cleaner. Rooms were decent size, with a nice bathroom that included a tub. Just a tub with no shower head in it. We never used it, maybe for bathing little ones' Closet and dresser were of good size to hold 2 adults weeklong clothing assortment. Noted that all of the railings on the exterior were in need of sanding and repainting. Also, the windows in the main lobby looking out to the pools were in dire need of a washing. Adult pool heater worked one day and was great. Wait staff at the Sedona Grill and Champions sports bar next door were less than what I expect at a resort like this. I found out upon checking out that the tips had been pre-paid which always cause me alarm. The bellmen were always pleasant and were able to give me change in dollars as the front desk only deals in pesos. My 3rd Mexican resort in 6 months and the other 2 easily dealt with dollars. Drinks were a little on the pricey side at the pool bar. We went across the street for local fair breakfast and lunch. Freds across the street is amazing for dinner. All in all I expected a lot more for the price we paid. Where the staff seem to excel is putting on special events both on the lawn, and the beach.
"Nice place "
There are plenty of Pools - very beautiful. Breakfast buffet is great. Our room steward Jesus was so wonderful. Typically, I don't care about this but he went above and beyond - really cares about the hotel and is having a great stay. They also have pool floats which are fun. A swim up bar adult pool Which is also very nice
"Nice staff but dated hotel"
I stayed at the JW Marriott and was actually unimpressed despite the reputation and price. The hotel itself is huge and I stayed in a Premium Ocean Fromt corner suite. The view was amazing but the suite itself was very dated. I did not feel like I was in a luxurious suite despite its ample size. The entire hotel need a facelift. The pool chairs were all gone early in the morning by those lovely people that go down and put a towel on a chair and then don't come back for hours. I found the restaurants to be good but overpriced as usual for Cancun resorts. The best part about the hotel was the front desk staff who were very friendly and accommodating. We are also Marriott Gold Elite and there is no concierge level for rewards members.
"Excellent customer service"
We were in room 810 and Vincente was awesome. His supervisor Silbia Tun should know he's world class in creativity. All other staff was very friendly and professional. We will come back. Beautiful infinity pool.
"I love JW"
This is or much one o the best resorts I've been in. The place is wonderful and the staff is attentive. I'll definitely return to stay here. I want to thank to the staf on the front desk which were very helpful.
