"Great Location, Great Service"
not too difficult to get there by blue line from airport. The hotel allowed early check-in and all the staff were amazing. Many attractions are near-by or with reasonable walking distance or short uber. Bed is a bit soft. Families around during the weekend but the only have limited VIP lounge service, which is unfortunate. The lounge food was amazing during the weekday - gourmet style.
"Great Downtown Chicago Stay"
Stayed here while attending a business conference. The Burnham Ballroom is a fantastic space. The hotel rooms were spacious, comfortable and well furnished. The service was fantastic. Overall a great Stay.
A luxury experience in the heart of the financial district of Chicago. The place speaks of history. Rooms are well kept and clean. Staff Friendly and professional. The concierge is knowledgeable and helpful.
"Had higher expectations"
My husband and I planned a weekend trip to Chicago without our children and decided to try the JW with hopes of a luxury experience. After staying at several other Chicago hotels (in lower price brackets) we had higher expectations. The positives were the knowledgable and friendly concierge and staff. The expedient check in and out. The location is fantastic if you are looking to immerse yourself in the Chicago experience. We do Chicago mostly on foot, and love the location of this hotel. When we got off the elevator to go to our room, the entire floor smelled like marijuana. I get it, it's done and ignored and not a huge deal, but doesn't make you feel like your'e staying in a $240 per night hotel. I wouldn't even mention this but when walking somewhere between 200-300 yards to the room, and smelling this SO strongly the entire time, you have to start wondering what is going on. We stayed 2 nights and I did not like the beds at all. We had a room with 2 double beds. There were 2 hairs in the shower and a few on the floor in the bathroom (sorry to mention it, but that totally disgusts me when I'm ready for a nice hot shower and see someone else's leftovers in there.) Obviously I didn't even consider the soaking tub since the shower and floor weren't even "clean." I know that things can be leftover and missed and I do give grace to that. But it's just that we chose this hotel to have the "higher standard experience" and were so sorely disappointed. We had no city view (just an inner courtyard facing the other side of the hotel). The pot smell lasted all weekend, not just our arrival day of Friday. To make matters worse, there was vomit on the floor near the elevator on Sunday morning. All in all, we would not stay here again given all of the wonderful options in Chicago. We love the Marriott brand and support them everywhere we travel but were very disappointed in this one.
The JW Marriott in Chicago is a beautiful historical hotel in the center of the financial district in Chicago. The rooms were nice and the location is exceptional if you want to be in the heart of city. The check-in was a bit slow and confusing, but as a gold elite member I probably have higher expectations. Executive lounge is just okay compared to world wide standards. Overall, I would stay there again and do recommend it.
