"Nice location, exceptional employees"
This hotel may be a few blocks (very walkable) from the Magnificent Mile, but I liked it that way- it was a bit quieter, and you are only a block or two from the Willis Tower (the former Sears Tower). The lobby is spacious, the workout space is one of the best I have seen in a hotel, and there is even a pool and spa. Our room was definitely on the small side, but the bathroom was very nice with above average products. What made the hotel worth it to me was how every single person we interacted with went out of their way to be friendly, helpful and kind. We've stayed in several hotels in Chicago and this is the first time I felt personally welcomed and recognized after the first day. Our room was next to the elevator, which was very convenient, and it was not noisy at all. I didn't see coffee in the lobby, which I found surprising, and though there was flavored water available there must have been quite a few thirsty travelers last weekend because it was empty a few times when I tried to sample it. Very minor issues.
"Good place to stay"
I have stay here on my trips to Chicago. It is a few blocks from the Magnificent Mile but you save a few dollars staying a little off the main drag. Easy walking distance to shopping, theatres, and trains. Parking was good and the staff at all levels is really nice and helpful.
"VALET SERVICE MAY HAVE SAVED OUR LIVES"
We drove to Chicago to do some after Christmas shopping. We left our car with the valet service and the valet personnel told us that there was a strong odor of gas once our car's ignition was turned off. We took our car to a nearby Cadillac service where they ran a diagnostic test and we were told that our car had a gas leak and was unsafe to drive. Thanks to the valet service alerting us to this gas odor we probably avoided an accident on our way home. In addition, the reservation desk accommodated us and allowed us to stay in our suite an extra night while our car was being evaluated and repaired.
"Business Travelers Should Avoid"
If you are a business traveler who likes to rest and be ready for next day avoid this one. Elevators shake your room up and make loud noise. I called to talk about and they put me on hold for 10 minutes and no body came up. JW should know the needs of their business travelers.
Very up to date, spacious rooms, luxurious feel, nice swimming pool, and great service. I usually stay across the street at W , so glad I tried something different this time around. Definitely my choice for accommodation when in Chicago going fed.
