"Really, really, nice hotel."
We stayed just for a short overnight enroute to Mexico. The hotel is a good 25 minutes east of the airport, close to downtown waterfront area. Didn't have enough time to explore the neighborhood. Hotel lobby is very swanky. Nice bar area. Front desk staff very pleasant. One of them was able to help my wife get some last minute items which were tough to find at that hour. Room itself was very high class and chic. Asian inspired décor. It had the nicest bathroom I've ever seen in a chain hotel.
"Large Loop Hotel: great gym"
I regularly stay here for work as I have a client almost across the street. This is a great hotel in the JW brand: spacious lobby, well appointed rooms, fantastic staff, and all the things you expect from JW. The fitness center/gym is amazing for a hotel gym. Free weights! Dumbells to 100, barbells, 45 plates, and a deadlift/trap bar'! In a hotel!' Awesome! Tons of cardio equipment and a fitness studio. No excuses to not workout while traveling here... and it's 24/7! The rooms are exactly what you'd expect, despite being hard to find: the hallways seem to go on forever and I got repeatedly lost during my last stay. The food at the restaurants are fine, but you're downtown why would you eat in the hotel' Room service is quick however they seem to be busy making the menu "more fancy than needed". When you order room service you want more comfort food, I don't need a burger to be make fancy. All around great hotel. I'll be back.
"Only Chicago Hotel I Stay In"
Best, I mean Best Chicago Hotel! I have stayed there several times and the hotel does not disappoint. The location is in good walking distance to a lot of attractions. The hotel lobby and exterior has a nice appearance. There is a Starbucks within about a four minute walk which is always helpful. The valet is easy to use and get to. The view is to be expected, but who is sits in their room and looks out the window anyways. The rooms are very spacious and well appointed to feel luxurious. The bathrooms are huge which is always nice for a hotel bathroom. Its really hard to beat the JW in Chicago I wouldn't imagine staying anywhere else.
"Great overnight stay"
We booked a room with a wedding block of rooms and couldn't have been happier with this hotel. The room was lovely with a great bathroom and the floor was very quiet. The front desk staff was welcoming and we were allowed a late checkout. Fantastic Sunday breakfast at the Florentine too. Perfect stay.
We stayed here for one night when we had tickets for Hamilton. Proximity to the theatre was great, and the bathroom was really nice, but we preferred the Renaissance on the river and would likely stay there next time we are in town. We had an atrium room, so just a view of the grey interior of the building. It was very noisy late at night with music echoing in the atrium. The bed was also uncomfortable...I feel like Marriott beds are always so nice, but the mattress was hard and the sheets were really pilled and worn, not what we expected at a JW.
