"WORST Customer Service"
I haven been going to Miami during this time over 5 years for the tennis tournament and this had been the worst hotel ever. They don't care about the guest. We booked the reservation through Expedia for three people but they gave us a room with one bed. They blamed Expedia of what had happened and said that's what you get when you don't do the reservations directly through them. Expedia on the other hand try at best to correct the situation and help us out . They additionally charge us a daily fee for adding a roll up bed , they didn't have additional blankets for the bed , rooms outdated, handicapped shower which all of the water gets on the floor of the entire bathroom . In our experience we travel a lot and stay in many different hotels big brands and independent local brands even in the Brickel area same category hotels and nothing is never perfect but we have never encounter and be so disappointed stay as we had in this hotel.Ironically our impression and experience at the JW Marriot which is a very well known "pretigious brand "has been overall a bad one , would not recommend staying there. Go to Epic or Viceroy.
"Best hotel "
This is one of my favourite hotels. It's in a central location down town with nice water views. The rooms are very modern and have a great espresso machine. The gym is the best hotel gym I have seen. Amenities include a full size basketball court, a pool table, a golf simulator, and bowling simulator! The cons are $$$ and a small pool area with limited sun exposure.
"Needs updating and customer service"
This hotel needs updating - not just facilities but also updated customer services. A request for car to be brought around was ignored even though made 20 minutes in advance, and resulted in being late for a meeting. A complaint about this was ignored as well. A second complaint resulted in a vm from manager that couldn't be retrieved due to broken phone. A live call to manager resulted only in her transferring me to vm to retrieve her vm, which said to call her! The restaurant on site is very plain. The concierge lounge is poorly maintained and with meager food selection. Stay elsewhere if you can.
"Beautiful Property, Busy"
This is a very nice place. The staff is outstanding. Our bellmen (Willam-Andres and Roylsen) took very good care of us during our brief stay. The property is beautiful and well maintained. Our room was immaculate, with a view of the ocean and part of the city. It was very busy (especially at check out time). Valeting your car can be a pain due to limited parking. Otherwise it was a great stay. Lots of restaurants and shops near by to visit, and the ocean is one block over. Great place to stay for a weekend getaway, special event, etc. I will definitely stay again. Con: It's South Miami and some people come for the purposes of having a great time ALL NIGHT LONG. We had a guest above us that sounded like they were doing construction at 2-3 am. I didn't bother calling the front desk because it's not their faults that some people are rude, get drunk and high and ruin your trip but acting foolish while on vacation. Just keep in mind that no matter how nice the hotel is......there are always some folks who don't have respect for others.
"Getting old but still a nice hotel"
Excellent location in downtown Miami but hotel rooms are in need of a renovation. Hotel is beginning to show its age. However, hotel offers a good value for its luxury and location. Breakfast buffet was solid. Good service.
