"Not my best stay"
I have probably stayed here 15 times over 20 years. The hotel always makes improvement. For example, I liked the curved TVs. Prices this trip were higher than normal, but even with that I could not get a room at 3 pm to shower to prepare for a meeting. The wake up call asked for never came. I need more power outlets than on the room. Staff as always is great. Gym Is ok buy not great. On balance a good deal when I pay 250-300, but at close to 450, I should have stayed elsewhere as there are other Marriott in the area.
"Great place for a stay before cruise"
We stayed here prior to a cruise, and had a great time. We had used points, and received a wonderful corner room. The bed was comfortable. Finding dinner was not hard, as we asked for suggestions and found a place just a block away. We used UBER to get to the cruise port, and it was very inexpensive. The only problem we had was that I had shots that needed refrigeration. I asked about using the mini bar, and was told that was fine, but that I would likely see charges for the things I moved, and would have to go down and get them taken off. I decided to leave them in the freezer pack I had used on the plane, since I didn't want the hassle. Please note that although it appears you must use stairs to get into and out of the hotel, there is an elevator that all the bellmen use, and you can use it also.
"What a deception"
We stayed in this hotel three years ago and we were satisfied, so that we booked again a room in this place. This time however, we were rather disappointed. Like the last time, we booked a room with bay view, but we couldn’t see much of the bay because in the meantime a large business building has been constructed just in front of the hotel, another one is under construction and a third one is planned. These buildings obstruct the view to the bay and we are very surprised that Marriott offers these rooms at a higher price without the view announced on their website. Besides, the hand shower in the bathroom was leaking, there was some dust left in the bathroom and we had only one bathrobe for 2 persons. On TV there is no non-US chain. We could appreciate the friendly service of the employees, especially at the concierge lounge where we had a pleasant and interesting conversation with Edgar. The greatest deception at this hotel was their pricing policy. We booked our room for 3 nights in April 2017 on June 1st, 2016 at a total price of $ 1918.74. A few weeks later we noticed that the price for this room at the booked dates had been reduced. Thus we cancelled our reservation and made a new one: same room at same dates for a total of 1397.81 $. Just before leaving our home country we saw on the hotel website that the price had changed again, the total price was now 1241.87 $ only, but we did not have the time to make again a cancellation and a new reservation. Since this was apparently the current price valid for the dates of our stay, we asked the receptionist to adjust our price to the new one which was 155.94 $ lower. He told us that he was not competent for this and that he had to ask his supervisor. The Assistant Front Office Manager, Jennifer Clay, simply refused to take any action. Obviously it is the responsibility of the Marriott guest to check regularly (daily') the prices and then to cancel and rebook. This is neither acceptable nor very customer friendly…..
"Marriott Miami beach"
Stayed twice in April. 1st stay the room was not clean in appearance. Stains on the carpet, lobby not as polished as they usually are. Restaurant slow and not accurate. Check in staff not real friendly. 2nd stay was quite improved. Very courteous staff, rooms very clean. I had written a review on their site after the first stay.
"Pre cruise 3night stay"
Lovely hotel with large rooms and very comfy beds God sized roof top pool area Great breakfast with plenty of choice Wifi in lobby is rather slow, would be nice to have wifi in rooms too Hotel in financial area so unable to walk to shops but easy to walk to bay area
