Perfect choice if you have to spend some days in Seoul. Really bood breakfast, big and luxury rooms, cleaness. Do not have dinner in the resturant placed in the big hall, good but extremely expensive, not justified.
"Far From Perfect, But Lots of Attractive Features"
I spent 6 nights here during the past 2 weeks, checking in and out 3 times. For me a perfect hotel seems to anticipate my needs and wishes almost effortlessly, but with this JW Marriott it seemed just the opposite. I went to the steakhouse for dinner the first evening, but it was Valentine's Day, only the tasting menu was offered. and I just wanted a steak and a salad. (The place was mostly empty). The next morning I had to leave at 6:30 AM, and the card in my room stated that breakfast opened at 6:00 AM, but when I showed up at 6:01, I learned that it really opened at 6:30. My 3 rooms were all large and comfortable. There is a large awkward square pillar in each room that breaks up the space, and the desk is wedged between the pillar and the wall. But there are a couple of electrical outlets at the desk and wifi is free and fast. Bathrooms are large and contain both a shower and a bath tub. The desk chair in my first room was broken, and the shower floor was scaly, but in general the rooms were fine. Service is correct but a bit cool. For example, there were always 2-3 women tending the bar, and never more than 2-3 patrons there, but they never engage in conversation, preferring to polish glasses and accomplish other mundane tasks. When there is a function happening, a wedding or a convention, the elevators are very slow. In addition to the steakhouse, there are Chinese, Japanese, and Italian restaurants, as well as Le Café, where breakfast and buffet lunch and dinner are served. I avoided the Chinese and Japanese restaurants because everyone else did too; they were never more than 20% full. At the Italian restaurant I ordered a pizza that tasted microwaved and undercooked, and was definitely overpriced. I went to the steakhouse twice. The food and service were excellent, but it was expensive. The breakfast buffet was good, lots of choices and the hot foods were hot without being dried out. Lastly, 2 things that probably won't be important to most guests. The carpets in the hallways are the ugliest I have ever seen! Green and white stripes with big black medallions that look like large insects. And the feature that I liked best about this hotel' Every evening from about 4-7 PM, 2 girls play piano and violin on the stairs between the lobby and the second floor, mainly classical music. Their music is soothing and delightful after a long day. Bravo! Yes, there is a gigantic mall next door, and 3 blocks away, nice walking paths along the river. A Brazilian churrascaria, Texas de Brazil, is a adjacent to the hotel, and is a good dining option. I would return.
"Amazing service, atmosphere and location"
My stay in the JW Marriott was extraordinary. The staff is very professional, friendly and service was outstanding. The room is spacious, very clean and quiet. The hotel has a very convenient location since in the basement there is a mall, a food court, and the Express Bus Terminal with the subway station making very easy to access any tourist attraction in Seoul. From Incheon airport you can get the bus 6020 and get off at Express Bus Terminal bus stop, just cross the street and you will see the hotel. The bus ride takes about 1:00 - 1:30h depending on traffic. Ask for a room of the side of the river, you can see N Seoul Tower and the Rainbow Bridge lights.
Stayed here for 3 nights for a conference. This is a very unique hotel as it is built on a magnificent underground mall offering a large variety of shops, restaurant and a huge market. Our room was large, comfortable and very clean. We were lucky to have access to the executive lounge which offers great breakfast buffet and a great light meal in the evening with excellent service. The reason I decided to rate this hotel as "very good" is because of its location: It is located off-center and one needs to take subway (there is a station under the hotel) or a taxi to get anywhere in the city. From the airport we took a taxi which was about 90$, on the way back we paid about 60$. Other than that it's a great hotel with excellent service and hospitality.
"Beautiful, clean, best spa experience ever"
I have never experienced such wonderful amenities. Spa was traditional Korean. Wonderful experience and so invigorating! They supply gym shorts, T shirt and the most comfortable socks with arch supports I ever wore. All free. Fantastic food and very pleasant concierge who helped me book the best tours. Went to DMZ which was another highlight of being in South Korea. Very fascinating. I also left a shirt and pants in my room which they e-maied me about and fed-x'd to me. I didn't even remember I left them there. Never had a hotel ever in my world travels to that for me. .
