Lovely hotel overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. The service at the hotel was excellent. They were very helpful in arranging for a car to take us sightseeing, to dinner, and to the airport. Highly recommended.
The Hotel was lovely...... BUT our favorite 5 star employee was Cynthia. During our stay, Hurricane Matthew hit our family home in Florida. Of course, we felt helpless, worried and stressed. Cynthia was a true professional, offering to help us. She took charge and major steps in rearranging our travel needs. She followed up with us everyday making sure that our needs were taken care of during the remainder of our stay. The location is a great area to act like a local...lots of beautiful outdoor local ocean view parks that you can walk along for miles. Great for exercise or watching the locals. Lots of interesting local sites to visit, all within walking distance. The hotel with give you a map highlighting must sees and areas to not venture into. You can watch along with the locals the magnificent sunsets from the viewing area across the street. Uber is easy and economical way to use for day trips. If you want to be in the not to busy, lively city mix with a beautiful views this is the place to be.
"Pure classic luxury"
I have stayed in this luxury hotel multiple times and is my preferred hotel in Lima for both business and vacation trips. It is perfectly located in Miraflores (every single room has a splendid view of the ocean & it is steps away from the fancy mall 'Larcomar' with great shopping, bars and cafes, incl. Tanta & Juan Valdez, and where the city sightseeing buses start their tours). It is a walking distance from the most famous Peruvian restaurant 'Central' (#4 in the world in 2016). JWMarriott offers delicious breakfast (for gold/platinum loyalty members, the exec lounge is excellent!), large gym, nice spa, and a high end restaurant. My only suggestion for the hotel would be to revamp the private tour offering for tours outside of Lima (e.g. a day-trip to Paracas with a flight over Nazca lines), on a couple of occasions the hotel could not accommodate this request instead directing me to independent travel agencies.
"Best hotel in Lima"
Thisbis a great Marriot hotel. Onenof the best I have stayed at. They make you feel welcome and very well taken care of. Breakfast and lunch are great and the sushi pub is the best with live music and great atmosphere! View of the ocean is amazing!!! I loved it.
The JW here is probably #2 to the Belmond in Miraflores, but not by much. Similar location ocean front. We paid for the view room and it was terrific at much less than the Belmond. As an elite Marriott member we had access to the Club on the top floor with broad beach and ocean views. It was the best Marriott club we had ever experienced. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks and exceptional personal service from the staff. Not overcrowded as the club tends to be in US. Rooms were well appointed and bathrooms were excellent (full flush not available everywhere in Lima)! Rooms are not new, but well maintained. Hotel is busy all hours with travelers and business people as well as airline crews. A casino is attached and you are across the street from the park overlooking the ocean. Also, a modern luxury shopping center located near the park with many good dinning opportunities. A very safe area as well.
