"Rooms are very disappointing"
My family stayed here and so did my brother and his family and my cousin and his wife, we were all disappointed with our rooms. The rooms were hot and mildewy. We put the AC on 60 and it remained hot. We all complained and nothing was done and no explanation provided. It was so upsetting that I spend $1,200 and sweat in my room. Bath towels were ragged, I could see through them. Shower floor grout was dirty. Couldn't put makeup on in the bathroom because there wasn't any ventilation and sweat so much. Bathroom had a burning smell, I think the lamp shades were melting or something. The cable didn't work the second night and we call and they said they would send the cable person in the morning, we said after 12n would be ok. I got a call from the room phone at 7:30 am that the technician was at my door and couldn't get in because a tag was on the door REALLY!!! The 'tag' was a Do not disturb sign. I'm on vacation and wanted to sleep in for a while. The call woke all of us up. So many disappointing things happened. I wanted my room to be close to my brother and cousin. At check-in the woman at the front desk said she put us close to each other on the same floor. I don't call the 15th floor and 5th floor close. However, the hotel, grounds, pool, and restaurants were great. Room service was really good. I found all of the staff very pleasant. It's a shame the rooms were so poor. There are so many places to stay at in Orlando, I'm positive I will not stay there again. Disappointed 😔
"Amazing Pool, Very nice suite"
Me and my wife had a great time at this hotel. Its close to the Parks and if you cant be bothered with the lines just spend the day floating in the lazy river pool. the rooms was also super nice, we had a suite and it was HUGE! The grounds and the wildlife are awesome. its next to the Ritz so you can wander over there too. they have the best whiskey bar. Get an Old Fashion! the food there was great too.
"A Gem in the Vacation Center of Florida"
Our stay was one of the top resort experiences we have had. The front desk staff was excellent and assisted with our every request. They even went above and beyond, helping us with a delay in departure time. The pool and grounds were outstanding. The lazy river has to be one of the longest in North America. Everything was manicured expertly and the pool staff was one of the most attentive we have experienced when measured against other 5 star resorts we have stayed at. The bonus was the connection to the Ritz-Carlton and the availability of the facilities, restaurants and grounds there. This place is well worth an extended stay and we can’t wait to return!
"Beautiful Resort...beware of the inside bar!"
I just want to start by saying my husband and I absolutely loved this resort and really enjoyed our time! The lazy river, the hot tub, the poolside service, the live music! The rooms were comfortable and the beds were amazing! We thought so at least. My ONLY complaint is the inside bar in the lobby. The staff there was wonderful and very friendly. The only thing is when you open a tab they put $150 hold on your card! We were never informed this would be happening or we would have closed out and just had a separate tab each time. I understand putting holds on cards but I feel $150 is excessive. We were there celebrating our wedding anniversary and were there to spend money but it was hard when there is a $150 hold on your account. Other than that the stay was awesome and I'd love to come back!! I just wont keep a tab open at the bar!
"Below average rooms for a JW"
I've stayed at JW Marriotts in the past and this one was by far the least value from an Experience scale. The grounds are great and very well kept but as a business and conference attendee, for me it was all about the room. The comforter was older and had threads coming out. The pillows were very lumpy. I found one good one of the four on the bed. The rest of the room was just ok. I'd say it compares to a regular full service Marriott. Oh and I am a Platinum Marriott member so I travel a lot on work and stay in a lot of Marriotts. Usually the JW's are a lot more high tech and sophisticated and this one just wasn't. The lobby area was nice and grand and that's probably where they spent the 'upgrade' budget on. But for me the rubber meets the road with the rooms and quality of the linen, etc and this property fell short in that aspect.
