"A good hotel in a great location!"
The Kadashevskaya Hotel is a good hotel just across the river from the Red Square, St Basil’s Cathedral and just along the river from Gorky Park. Therefore it is right in the heart of the tourist area in Moscow. There are also plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The rooms were clean, comfortable, good wifi and plenty of hot water. The only negative I have about this hotel is the lumpy pillows and as our party had two rooms, I can only surmise that there are lumpy pillows in every room.
"Almost 5, but not quite"
The Kadashevskaya is at a prime location in the center of Moscow, just 900 m from the Kremlin. We booked a suite and were initially a bit disappointed, because the room we were given was not as specified on Booking.com and what we had paid for. It was way smaller and faced a backyard. We complained and after two nights we could change into the room we thought we had booked and paid for. That room (305) faced north, was of the expected size and had a nice view over the city and towards the Kremlin. Both rooms were very clean and had excellent beds. There was a small coffee machine and coffee capsules were provided. The staff was friendly and helpful. Also, the hotel is really quiet – a big plus after a day in the noisy streets and Metro of Moscow. The breakfast buffet was ok. However, we did not appreciate to be constantly exposed to the synthetic techno beat music from the ceiling speakers above the tables, interfering with our communication. Apparently, they believe that this fits to the otherwise stylish deco of the restaurant. On the first evening, we used their restaurant also for dinner. We were a party of four and ordered different dishes. None of us felt that the quality of the meal was worth the price they asked for. Because the hotel is so close to the Kremlin it is affected by the spoofing of GPS signals by the Kremlin. All GPS devices tell you that you are at Vnukowo international airport, when you are actually in the Hotel. This is of course not the hotel’s mistake, but it is good to know about it because it is a problem when you order an Uber taxi or when you are dependent on GPS information in any other way. All in all, we spent a good time and felt home in Kadashevskaya. When you book a room there it might be wise to reconfirm that you really get what you booked and paid for. I would have liked to give 5 stars, but -1 because of a room not as advertised and -1 because of the restaurant.
"No trust ability "
The hotel is nice, good service, good food, good area, but.... when we came to do check-in, not just that we weren't told we are charged in advance, I made sure twice that giving my card was for insurance only, I was promised it's just a policy of the hotel to have the card number.. I didn't sign anything & I didn't press anything at any machine, I wasn't aware of the amount I was charged, and I found it out by accident through my account statement while staying at the hotel.. the reception male lied about it and said things differently.. I am not mad about the mistake- everyone can act wrongly, but I am mad for not being able to admit for the mistake, and lie about it.. this is bad service, and not a trusted hotel.. if I am charged, I suppose to now so and how much.. I am the owner of my money, and not anyone else!
The hotel was in a great location - close to the Kremlin and Gorky park. The rooms were a great size and the beds were comfy, although the pillows were quite lumpy! The breakfast was ok - there was a good selection but the hot food was lukewarm rather than hot. The gym was good, with basic equipment and room to do your own routine. There is also a sauna. The receptionists were really helpful for the whole stay, for example booking us a taxi to the station.
"Comfortable hotel - great location"
This is a small boutique hotel located on the Moscow river and within walking distance of the Kremlin. It's not a luxury hotel - and lacks facilities ; it doesn't have a bar - there is only a small reception area. However the rooms are clean and are well equipped - mini bar/TV/tea making/comfortable bed and so on. Breakfasts offer a variety of hot and cold dishes on a self service basis. Staff are friendly and helpful. All in all a good, value for money place to stay when visiting Moscow.
