"Nice hotel, kind staff, nice location, great shower, but noisy"
I stayed at Karavansara Retreat for 2 nights. Overall, the hotel is very nice. Good location, easy walk to the Old Market and Pub Street area, but tucked away in the Wat Bo area east of the river. Nice clean room with a big bed and a patio. Rooftop pool is lovely. The only complaint is due to the location of my room, which was very close to the road and the front lobby of the hotel, it got quite noisy at night. Aside from this, I would recommend this hotel!
"a convenient place to stay"
the place is very convenient by the river, with restaurant and shops around. you can walk to/from a lot of the places from here, the old market and pub street are just nearby. i will certainly stay here again next time i visit.
We were planning to stay in Kravansara during our whole stay in Cambodia. We booked a pick up from the airport and a few minutes into our journey we realised the driver was drunk. He openly told us that he had been drinking in a wedding all day and was more than capable of driving a car. We got into the hotel and a receptionist laughed as soon as we told him what happened. The hotel room had no working plugs and we struggled to charge our phones and cameras. We spent one night in the hotel and realised that the pool was nothing like in the pictures. It was very small and needed freshening up. The room that we were staying in was next to the main road so we were awake at 6am from the loud traffic, the receptionist did offer to change to room for us but then at 9am they started construction work next door. There was a jcb with a hammer breaking concrete from 9am onwards which was more than we could take, no way of relaxing in the room or by the pool due to the noise. We checked out and moved hotels after one night. They charged us for the full 3 days even though we only stayed one night. To be fair the staff there were actually quite polite but it was unfair for them to change us for the full 3 days considering the amount of noise coming from the construction site next door.
"My favorite hotel after one month in Cambodia"
We liked to stay there, the price is fair, the hotel is central (you won't need any tuk tuk to go to the center and pub street, just cross the bridge). The rooms were clean and charming with a nice colonial design. I liked the bathroom also. We often stayed at the rooftop pool at night and the staff was friendly, helpfull and easy-going. I will surely go there again if i may visit Siem Reap another time.
"Little bit disappointed "
It's my second time here and this time I come with my friend and my husband. We booked 3 rooms and only 1 room is ready and the rooms we booked is full so they move us to apartment side which had 2 bedrooms but one room is single bed. We spend 2 nights there and no one come to clean our room or even refill water for us. No phone to call front desk. So I'm little disappointed since I like this hotel.
