Situation: Ideally located, the luxurious Kempinski Hotel Bahía Estepona Marbella is 5 minutes from Estepona and within walking distance of Puerto Banus and Marbella. The hotel is located two hours of other Andalusian cities, and a short ferry ride from Tangier in Morocco. The Kempinski Hotel Bahia is easily accessible by car, taxi or public transportation and is just 50 minutes from Malaga International Airport and 50 minutes from Gibraltar International Airport.
"Great for cocktails"
We have been to this hotel twice for cocktails in the late afternoon and have to say that they are possibly the best that can be found on the Costa Del Sol. The Pina Colada's are especially worth mentioning, but we can also recommend the Bloody Mary and Margueritas! Staff helpful and attentive and pricing whilst higher than in many bars, did reflect the quality and surroundings.
"Exellent hotel in all respects"
My wife, my 5 years old daughter and I spend one week in the Kempinski in Estepona. It was our second time. We got a Deluxe room which was upgraded to one with sea view. I strongly recommend the sea view room. It was a very relaxing vacation. Breakfast offers many choices, freshly pressed orange juice, etc. We booked half board. In the evening we visited the Alminar restaurant which had a half board menue (it repeats after four days). The quality of the food is very good. We also took at few occasions the "Abuela" Tapas restaurant which we liked even more. The tapas are really delicious. The SPA/swimming pool is very nice and clean. Ideal for a little kid as the water height is only 90 cm. The only disadvantage is that you need about 1-2 hours with car or bus to get from Malaga airport to the hotel. We will go there again.
First things first... if you stay here in the winter months they don't have any air conditioning. We paid for a top suite and although the room was great it was boiling and we couldn't sleep at night. We asked for a solution and other than a fan they simply couldn't solve the problem. After 2 night we requested that they move us to another hotel which they kindly arranged but the overall experience at this hotel wasn't great. On arrival we were not given anything to drink without a struggle, the facilities are not open (only the lobby bar is open) the noise from the road is quite loud and not relaxing, the breakfast is great but the staff are generally poorly trained and this hotel is not 5 star. We will not stay here again, the hotel is not cheap and I would recommend anybody wanting to stay in Marbella or Estepoba to look elsewhere. Really sorry but it's just not good enough.
We had a really good room with a view of the gardens and the sea. The breakfast is awesome and the food at the restaurants at nighttime is also very good. The hotel is very relaxing and the pools are big and clean. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a chilled out break, however would stress that if you get a room roadside then it may not have the same relaxing atmosphere as one that is overlooking the garden/sea/pool. Would be worth paying more for that in my opinion.
Stayed here after an opening at CAC Malaga. Despite off-season and many hotels in the area closed the Kempinski was running on top level and as if it was high season. Staff was extremely nice and friendly, including reception, restaurants, spa and housekeeping. beautiful garden right at the beach. Found a hidden garden which belongs to the hotel, with orange trees. One of the most amazing breakfast buffets, again with amazing staff. Had our Sunday breakfast sitting in the sun while back home temperatures were below zero. Highly recommend for winter escapes.
