"No Tea/Coffee making facilities!!!"
Having been to Kempinski Cathedral Square in Vilnius several times, and the late lamented Hybernska in Prague, we have been very impressed with our Kempinski experiences, and so, my partner and I eagerly anticipated our stay in Budapest at the Corvinus. Alas, the discovery that in a FIVE STAR HOTEL, there was no tea and coffee making facilities in our Superiorroom immediately put a damper on our stay. I wasn't expecting a Nespresso machine, as this was only available in Grand Deluxe and above rooms, but to not even have a kettle'' Having to phone guest services 3 times to resolve issues that really shouldn't have happened was also annoying, and made us feel like complainers, rather than guests in a top hotel. We had requested a park view, but our room overlooked a few shrubs and trees atop the central atrium, rather than a view to the front of the hotel, where there was a park! The hotel website stated that ALL bathrooms have underfloor heating. Ours didn't, and when we asked a member of staff, he said that our room didn't have it. Laptop size safe just wasn't, unless you have a teeny laptop/i-pad. The prohibitively expensive €32 breakfast charge made us opt for room only. Why so expensive for breakfast' Room service breakfast menu was very confusing, we gave up and decided to go round the corner to a burger bar for breakfast and COFFEE!!! On the bright side, we had drinks in the Blue Fox bar after our evening out, and the lady who served us could not have been more attentive and friendly. Club sandwich ordered from room service late at night came promptly, was hot, and came with a good selection of condiments. As ever, the staff were very welcoming and endeavoured to put right anything that was wrong. It's just a pity that there were any problems at all.
"Great location, very good hotel"
I have recently stayed at Kempinski Budapest with my family and enjoyed the stay very much. The downside of the room is that the beds are extremely soft and old. The water in the fridge is very expensive. I can understand the price of other drinks but whats the matter with the water' The coffee and ES deli is great to have breakfast, lunch and dinner. The location of the hotel is great. If you walk up the street from ES deli to the direction opposite to the river you find a very tasty pizza take away. If you walk to the river side direction you find various activities, bars, restaurants etc. Everything is in walking distance.
This Hotel was just perfect. It started with a upgrade to a grand deluxe room with a spectacular view and a big bottle of champagne(a gift from the hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary) ending with a man with coffee as our wake up call on our last day. Great location, Patient and courteous staff. A real class hotel. Oh also a lovely spa.
"Great hotel, great location"
So, following Trip Advisor results, we booked ourselves into what looked like a very classy B&B. After flying overnight and missing a connection, we arrived late to Budapest to find that the B&B wasn't quite what the reviews made it seem, including the fact that the A/C didn't work because even though it was 80 degree, they don't turn on their system until June. The owner was nice enough to let us just go away, so we used their wi-fi to look for a last-minute place to stay for four days...and found the Kempinksi just a short distance away at a reasonable price. I'm sure that when we rolled into the lobby, we looked a bit bedraggled, but the staff couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming. We had a great room and great buffet breakfasts in this wonderful hotel with a great location. Most of the restaurants the concierge helped us find were within a short walk from the hotel (5 minutes or less). There are tram, bus, and metro lines within 5 minutes or less. Thanks to the Kempinski for saving our trip!
"Fantastic Hotel in Budapest"
We recently stayed at Kempinski Corvinus Hotel in Budapest and thought the hotel was fantastic. It is not cheap ,however, it was a really enjoyable experience staying there. Our room was faultless .It was spacious, very clean, well decorated and had a fantastic bathroom with disabled facilities if needed. As my wife has to use a wheelchair it was important that the bathroom had proper grab rails and the room did not disappoint. Breakfast was very good with an extensive variety of foods which were regularly replenished by the helpful staff. The staff in the front office and the concierge were really good and recommended places of interest to visit and restaurants and booked tables and sorted out travel around the city for us. With their vast knowledge of the city it highly recommended that any visitors ask the staff to advise on any places of interest or restaurants to visit as this enables you to get more out of a holiday in this lovely city. All the staff were friendly and went out of their way to assist us. The location of the hotel could not be better as it is in central Pest and you are within easy walking distance of most places of interest and there are lots of good restaurants nearby. We would definitely recommend staying at this lovely hotel.
