"Beautiful resort, excellent service!"
We arrived at Komaneka Rasa Sayang in Ubud and were amazed at the beauty of the hotel. On arrival we were handed a welcome drink – a delicious fresh fruit mix which was a lovely surprise! Stepping into the room was magical – a large, beautiful bed decorated with rose petals, a relaxing area with sofa and TV, a storage room, a writing table, a very large balcony with seating, and a gorgeous large bathroom with a shower and bath. We were provided with everything we could possibly need and more. When we arrived in our room, we were shown where everything was from the minibar, free Komaneka cookies (which were delicious!), travel adaptors (brilliant extra), room service (great, extensive menu), pyjamas and slippers, flip flops, bathroom amenities etc. They also provided us with a scented mosquito spray which was one of the nicest I’ve ever smelt! The attention to detail in the room and the extras provided made our stay feel extra special. We made our way to dinner, which was delicious – the food, wine and service were one of the best I’ve had. The menu had a wide variety of choice from traditional Balinese food to more western choices. I had a few cocktails to start (both divine) and red wine with dinner which was very reasonable in price and tasty. After having one of the most peaceful sleeps since arriving in Bali, we made our way to breakfast which also did not disappoint. I had fresh fruit with yogurt and muesli, followed by poached eggs with salmon and bacon on an English muffin – delicious! The staff made the whole trip extra special from the moment we arrived – everyone was extremely friendly and did everything to make our trip perfect. The hotel surroundings were beautiful and the pool was a nice size for a swim. The whole ambiance of the hotel was very calm and made me feel very relaxed, almost like a mini paradise! It is situated on Monkey Forrest Road which was a great location, and the hotel provides free transport to and from most of the locations within Ubud town which was a great bonus. You can also go to the other Komaneka resorts and use the facilities if you wish. The staff really did make our stay perfect from start to finish, so I couldn't thank them enough - can't wait to visit again!
"Beautiful room and an absolute gem"
Stayed here for four nights on our recent trip to Bali. We had a very comfortable and spacious room with a very large and luxurious bathroom - definitely the best accommodation we have enjoyed throughout the holiday. It is in an ideal location just off Monkey Forest Road, but when you are relaxing around the pool area you would think you were in the jungle rather than in the middle of a bustling town. As most people seem to mention in their reviews, the staff are absolutely amazing, very helpful and obliging. One slight disappointment was the construction work that was going on around different parts of the hotel; there wasn't much danger of a lie in or an afternoon siesta once the banging started first thing in the morning. At the very least the management should have displayed a warning notice or left an apologetic note in our rooms explaining the situation. In spite of the let down I would not hesitate to stay here again and happily recommend to others, assuming the work finishes soon !!
"Construction a let down "
This place was amazing ....the staff were happy friendly and would bend over backwards to help you. The food great and the service awesome. The location amazing ...even though it is on monkey forest road its secluded. But for the price you should not have drills and hammers etc going off in the rooms above and below so even if you wanted to chill in your room it was far to noisy. There was a whole wing with no construction but they put people including us right amongst the noise. This is with a special request for a quiet room.
"One Word: Amazing"
I have traveled a lot in my life and have stayed at many different hotels. But Komaneka will always be remembered as one of the best. It's not about the room or the food or the swimming pool (all of which are amazing); it's about the sense that they are constantly trying to improve things and surpass your expectation. The free rides around town, for example. Or the freshly laundered and ironed pyjamas each night. Meticulous cleaning during our absence. We frankly didn't love the noise and bustle of Ubud, but Komaneka was our sanctuary, providing us with quiet and comfort we badly needed after a walk around town. Even now we remember fondly the free afternoon tea on the terrace overlooking the emerald pool below.
"Excellent hotel, shame about the construction"
This hotel is so nice. Rooms are great, staff are amazing, facilities are spot on and the location is so good on monkey forest road. We also attended their BBQ and Balinese dance evening which was awesome! The only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 is because there's some construction work going on. I understand the hotel is upgrading and that is great news. It's just I didn't really enjoy being woken up by power tools at 8.45 every morning or trying to relax by the excellent infinity pool and hearing the old sledge hammer knocking down a concrete wall. I'm sure once the work is done it'll be perfect. It's just while we stayed it was a tiny bit annoying. Thanks again to the staff though because they were perfect.
