"Superb service, but..."
The service and the food are simply unmatched in our experience. You can breakfast at any of their hotels (one a couple of minutes' walk away; they will drop you by car at the other two and bring you back). We booked a rooftop villa with a Jacuzzi - huge apartment, and with a large very private deck. There was renovation work going on for their new building, but we were not disturbed. What did disturb us was the poor air conditioning: there are two in the bedroom and none elsewhere, so it's hard to bear the heat in the living area and the large dressing-cum-bath area. And Ubud was hot, very hot, during the day as there was no rain. Even the bedroom was not properly cool till late at night. Also, the lighting is really weak everywhere except when you read in bed (for which there are two focused reading lamps. We were in Room 4101, which I suggest be avoided unless they do something about the aircon and the lighting. The staff were very helpful - warm like nowhere else in our experience. They even produced a birthday cake for my wife. The hotel is in the heart of the town, yet peaceful: though we could hear music from a nearby disco, it was faint and we were not bothered by it. There is so much to do that we want to go again, but will choose a standard room. We took a look at one - it was large and very cool.
"Great hotel in perfect location "
Hotel was in a perfect location, 5 mins walk to the centre of Ubud where there's the palace, market and shops. Also a 2 minute walk to the monkey forest. Staff and extremely friendly and helpful. Wide variety of lovely food available at breakfast. Rooms are very big, bathroom is amazing! We also had a balcony but no view. Driver from the hotel are cheap and really good. We did a half day tour around the rice terrace and temples etc. Drivers provide sarongs/cold towels/water etc which is great. Free afternoon tea by the poolside as well! Highly recommend this hotel for staying I Ubud and I would stay again!
"Komaneka at Rasa Sayang in november 2016"
I was there on vacation from 7 to 10 November, very nice resort, eaceful and beautiful place, friendly and helpful staff, good food! I'am very satisfied, and I am happy to visit this nice place again!
"Stellar staff - What all luxury hotels should aspire to"
This place really raised the bar for me. I honestly had never stayed at a hotel where I felt so welcomed, where I felt that I could ask ANYTHING and it would be provided for me without delay nor excuse. I had stayed at another Komaneka years before (Bisma) and did not remember that this hotel chain was so unique that way. Sure, there were issues with the construction work happening all around us, but the noise was really kept to a minimum around the restaurant and pool area, so escaping our rooms proved easy. The pool area is beautiful, but they have a real issue with the smell here - it's like the pool is sitting directly above open sewers. Hopefully they can find a way to fix this, because it really is difficult to bear after a while. The other issue with the pool is that there are not a lot of loungers, fine for now, but I have to wonder how they will be able to accommodate most guests once the expansion of the hotel is complete. Breakfast is not buffet, it is À la carte, and I never thought I would say this but I have found a better option than Buffet Breakfast here: it is like a buffet, because you can order whatever you like, in whichever quantity you want, and they will serve it at your table for you. No need to wait in line, just tell them you want only papaya and dragon fruit in your fruit plate, and they will gladly oblige (as long as the fruit you want is in season, naturally). The quality of the service in their restaurant is beyond words - never experienced anything like it before. Talking about service, I don't know how they train their staff here, but the little attentions (like putting a towel on your chair cushion when going to the restaurant wearing your swim suit or setting a chair or a table next to you to place your backpack or your purse while eating) are everywhere. Also, the housekeeping staff cleans your rooms in teams - and not small teams, BIG teams: sometimes 5 or 6 people together. This minimizes the time they spend in your room and ensures no detail is overlooked. Never had to use a humid bath towel during our three-night stay here - heaven! Desak (who welcomed us on our first day) told us that once you have stayed at a Komaneka property, you are part of the Komaneka family. For us, these were not empty words. We really were treated like family (if not royalty!) during our stay. We are in awe of our hotel experience here and are now mentally prepared to be disappointed next time we visit another high-end hotel other than Komaneka. A big thank you - until our next visit!
"Great Central Location"
We stayed here for one night, its right in the centre of Ubud so perfect for exploring. It may be right in the centre but its also a perfect place to switch off with a lovely peaceful pool with amazing views. Great friendly helpful staff and large rooms. Really beautiful hotel and an amazing location.
