Stayed in room #1332 for 3 nights last weekend. Paid HK$6,750 (before tax). The glass bathroom door in our room is proof that the room has been renovated. Allow me to voice my frustrations: 1. Upon check-in, we were given room keys and expected to find our own way around with our bags tagging along. 2. My wife was literally locked in the bathroom for 3 minutes because of the tight door latch. I tried it myself too and had the same problem. Decided not to lock the door for the rest of our stay. 3. There is not a single hook in the bathroom to hang our clothes. This is ridiculous! We did find one knob behind the toilet wall, but that was beyond reach for my wife. 4. Same goes for the bed room - not one hook for our clothes. 5. There is only one upright chair in the room for two. Just how to relax and have coffee' 6. The wardrobe is only 15 inches wide and half of the space was taken up by the bathrobes. This is the smallest wardrobe I have encountered. 7. On our first night we spent 15 minutes trying to find the main room electric switch but to no avail until I called the front desk only to be told that it was hidden between the bedside table and the mattress. Very neat BUT I was awaken a few times at night when my arms accidentally hit the switch. 8. Tried to call room service once, but no one picked up the call after 3 minutes - We give up after that. 9. There was a dining credit voucher of HK$200 for every HK$500 spent on the 2nd floor restaurant. We were not informed of this upon check-in and we only found this out from another tenant.
"Location, Cleanliness and Friendly Staff."
I just stayed for about 1 week in The Kowloon hotel. Martin Fung The manager of the hotel personally welcomed us at the lobby and made sure the accomodations and staff met our expectations and he made sure our expectations were surpased. 1. Let me tell you, the location of this hotel is the best one in Tsim Sha Tsui, you have the MTR right around the corner of the hotel and you can even access it from the hotel lobby, so no need to walk too much to get to the metro station. 2. The rooms were NEAT, super clean comfortable beds! 3. The staff was always available for us and ready to cater any of our needs. Stay in this hotel, you will not regret it!!
"Good location but had a few issues"
First of all this hotel is in a perfect location! You're a quick walking distance to Victoria Harbour to watch the evening skyline light show. You're also around lots of shops and restaurants. The room was very clean, though incredibly small, and that was with us getting an upgrade. The bathroom was well appointed and provided a lot of counter space. If you have long hair, you might want to bring your own toiletries as there is no separate conditioner, just a conditioning shampoo. There was a mini bar in the room and that was nice if you wanted some water or sodas and didn't feel like leaving your room. We tried to have breakfast at the hotel. We went down to the restaurant on the 2nd floor and said we did not want to have the buffet, but wanted a la carte. The hostess seated us with no problem and gave us menus. I guess most people must get the buffet because we sat there for 15 minutes and no one ever came over to take our order, so we finally got up and left. We also had an issue with taxis. There was no one to help get a taxi. There were some valets or bellhops' I'm not sure what their role was. But each time a taxi would pull up and not speak English, which is fine because we're in another country. However we would show the driver a map and every time they would still not know where we were talking about and they would drive off leaving us still waiting for a taxi. I feel like this situation could have been alleviated if the hotel had someone there to help facilitate this for guests. We had this happen twice and as a result we were late for dinner plans, so we walked across the street to the Peninsula Hotel and they were very helpful in securing us a taxi. We booked a tour from the concierge area and that was great! It picked us up right at the hotel and was arranged very easily. Overall, I just expected more in the service level at this hotel then we actually received.
The room was nice and it's located at strategic position which is at Nathan road, where you can stroll around easily nearby the hotel. Moreover, it's a good choice to stay here especially on Chinese New Year, where the attractions take place at Nathan road, so it's just outside the hotel.
