"Great food by amazing chefs and excellent accommodation :-)"
Mr. Singh, Mr. Rakesh of Moziak Restaurant and Mr. Jay from O'Beach restaurant are amazing chefs who took great care of our meals and made sure our food is prepared as we have requested. We are strict vegetarians and do not eat onion or garlic. Mr. Singh made punjabi curry and Hakka Noodles like a pro. Mr. Jay especially treated us with an authentic vegetarian Mauritian cuisine and it was tasty beyond words. Thank you both, me and my wife are truly obliged as we were very worried about the food during our stay on the island :-) Ravenala Attitude was the best experience due to its amazing food and hotel views including nice swimming pools and beach front. Staff is well trained and welcoming. Hotel has few free water activities like snorkeling, glass bottom ride, etc. I highly recommend the hotel.
"Great for families"
Returned from a 10 night stay during Christmas and New Years. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves at the Ravenala Attitude, and our children (4 and 7 years) had an amazing time, although there are some aspects which could be improved. What sets this resort apart from others we have visited is their kids club. The resort has a separate kids club and teens club, both of which runs from 9 am to 11pm! We travel extensively and have not seen a kids club open till so late. Who needs baby sitting!'! This is the first holiday where it seemed like we spent less time with the children :(, as all they wanted to do was go to the kids club to see Laura and Kathy, two of the wonderful team in the kids club. They are also sisters. Our children got very attached to Laura especially. Both are amazing with kids and always went the extra mile (Laura- thanks for getting the kids magarita pizzas). Even waited 30 minutes in extreme heat to wave us off from the side of the road, near their home as it was their day off the day we checked out. Truly amazing and we (especially the kids) were touched to see Laura and Kathy waiting to send us off - very nice gesture. Back to kids club, they have activities all day for kids, many outdoor as well; fishing, crab hunting, leaf hunting, chefs garden, glass bottom boat rides.. too many to list. If you have children, you must consider this resort. What we liked about the resort is that is was at full occupancy yet it didnt seem like it at all. Special thanks to Kreshan and Rakhes (Restaurant and FnB Manager) who went out of their way to make sure we were well looked after. Nothing was too much trouble for them We booked a family suite which is large with a king bed in bedroom and two single sofabeds in adjoining room. Not alot of privacy between the areas and rooms are quite dark. But we did not mind this too much as we were out most of the day. What was uncomfortable was that these rooms tend to get hot, especially the single beds section and the A/C is only in the main bedroom and it doesn't adequately cool down the whole 'suite'. This i feel could be improved. My wife used the Spa numerous times and said it was really nice and recommends Vishal. Unfortunately, we didn't have a great first experience at the Spa as the Spa manager Jennifer was extremely rude when we were inquiring about spa packages. So much so I felt the need to speak to Alessandro the GM regarding this and he was very understanding and professional about the matter and appreciated my feedback. He was also kind enough to offer my wife a complimentary spa treatment to make up for this. Service like this, even under such circumstances has to be admired and if it were not for this,we would not have booked and paid for a further 6 treatments during our stay. 3 very large pools (one for kids) and plenty of sunbeds around. Never had a problem finding one or two spare. Beach was nice, not the best we have been to in Mauritius, however, it has the most amazing sunset. River runs behind the hotel which is also quite picturesque. Crazy amount of water sports included, both for river and sea, including moterised! Amazing! Food was pretty good. We tended to eat at the buffet most nights. Special thanks for Chief Chef Singh, who made us the most amazing chicken curry ('Punjabi' style) I have ever had. I liked it so much he gave me a cooking lesson in how to make it myself! A very special thanks must go out to the unsung hero of the resort, Amjad, who manages the fitness centre here. My wife and I like to use the gym most days and having Amjad there was like having your own personal trainer. His dedication to his work and helping you to achieve YOUR goals has to be admired. The man went out of his way to help me and my wife with personal exercise plans and literally personally trained us nearly everyday. Most other gyms/hotels would charge for this level of personal training. Quite extraordinary. Keep up the amazing work!! What did bother me was that all resort staff had uniforms, except Amjad, something I found very strange. Why is this''' Alessandro, please 'complete' the great qualities of the fitness centre by ensuring even their staff have some kind of resort uniform. Image is everything. Thanks once again to all staff, even those i haven't remembered names for.
We spent 5 nights at this hotel between 7th and 12th of January. The worse issue was our room which was at ground floor 15 minutes far from restaurant, reception, beach etc. having around on the corridor from time to time rats and of course rattraps. Behind the room was the road....so..nothing exotique.....To go and come back from breakfast and dinner we needed 30 minutes, every day. Many of the areas had no AC, or not enough strong. The hotel is very isolated, no bus station and no shuttle bus, therefore the only way to go out is the taxi which is expensive. Only when such aspects we discovered, we realized that we were "captive" tourists obliged to pay the expensive prices for water, bier etc. For the check out of the room, the staff was pushing us to not delay even with 2 minutes..... The breakfast was good. We will not recommend this hotel to our friends.
"Delightfull New Years Break."
Tucked away on the North west side in a sheltered bay this hotel was a great find. I have to admit we were a little apprehensive due to a fair amount of negative feed back after booking this resort, but we are delighted to say this was totally unfounded. We arrived at lunchtime on Dec 28th swiftly booked in and taken for lunch at the Bistrot, whilst awaiting our room to be ready. This was the cross over period between Christmas and New year, so the staff were very busy making rooms ready for the new arrivals. After a nice lunch we were shown to Room 2301 on the top floor of the adults only wing. Really nice room , basically furnish, nice bathroom with twin sinks, bath toilet and walk in shower. Lots of big fluffy towels and good supply of toiletries. Lots of good storage space to hide away your suitcases. Lots of comments had been made about the lack of hanging space. Well I always over pack and it was more than adequate for our needs, although a bit lacking in coat hangers, but I requested 10 more and they arrived in 10 minutes. Nice touch to see an umbrella in the corner and slippers which always come in handy. Great view from the balcony, good outside furniture although lacking in cushions which would have made it more comfortable. Mini bar was empty on arrival save from 2 bottles of water. But a quick visit to the mini bar shop and you can fill it up with all you require, and you can return as and when you like to re-fill it. We went AI which was the best plan. We only spent an additional £15 and that was on a glass of bubbly at the beach bar at Sunset, trust me to pick an item NOT on the AI list. However the AI list of drinks was vast, along with as much tea, coffee and cake as you could possibly want. We only used the Main restaurant for breakfast and evening meals, they was a massive choice and we felt no need to spend extra at the other 9 restaurants in the resort. Lunch was taken at the beach BBQ or the Street food carts which was a brilliant idea. I have to say that bearing in mind that the resort was ful the staff were super attentive even though they were clearly rushed off their feet. The manager Alessandro Schenone was in evidence from 8am in the morning until gone 8pm at night. He was the sort of guy he was very hands on and approachable to both staff and guests and the sort of person who wouldn't ask his staff to do something he wasn't prepared to do, and you would often see him help move tables and set things up around the resort. We had the pleasure of being invited to 3 managers cocktail parties over our stay and were very impressed with the head of House keeping Amrish Ramkissoon and his staff. We happen to mention the lack of face cloths in the room as a minor irritation and by the time we got back to the room two had appeared and then were changed every day. Really have to commend all the staff on their flawless execution of the New years eve gala dinner. So much attention to detail, fantastic service and very impressive selection and presentation of the food. To round off the evening there was a fire eater on the beach and the fireworks display at Midnight which far out did any of the other hotels locally. Dancing until 2am at the beach venue and at 7am the next morning you would have never known it had happened the who place was spotless. Congratulations to all the staff on their great achievement. The Attitude owns 9 hotels in Mauritius and I have to say that after our experience here we are already keen to try one of their other resorts on the island. Being really picky Ladies if you need a strong hair dryer bring your own. We did note that the Adults only wing DID have some children staying in it. However bearing in mind that the resort was full and there were many family groups there spending Christmas and New year together they didn't pose a problem.
"Nice resort, friendly service, some processes need to be revised"
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel - although there were some aspects that should be improved. The hotel is in the north west of the island, a warmer area that has less rain than the south. It is located close to Port Louis and the sunny northern beaches (15 min drive each). The area is pretty quiet. The hotel is renovated in a local design and lays its focus on a local experience which was very nice. The river close by is nice, the beach is not as white and spotless as in other places of Mauritius but still beautiful. We lived in the family suite - a spacious room altough not very helpful if you have kids since bedroom and living room are not separated and nicely decorated. The staff is very friendly and tries to help but they are not always well trained (do not know basic information; give diffferent answers to questions) - a team meeting every morning would help a lot! Some processes need improvement (often no fresh towels for beach; housekeeping did a different job every day; booking tables at restaurants is a nightmare; dinner at a resident took very long to book) The food is lovely in the main buffet restaurant and also at the other restaurants. Very friendly staff! Drinks are either very expensive (wine 7 - 10 € per glass) or simply bad (no cocktail contained what was written in the menu and they were different every day). Still, All Inclusive is never worth the money unless you drink the whole day;
