Visited Budapest for Valentine's and my birthday. This hotel was perfect for location. Very central and close to the River Danube and the centre. We stayed in room 105, a nice modern room and very quiet. The maid did a good job and kept the room very clean. The obvious Mini bar, safe, flat screen TV, toiletries etc are all available. They have an ironing room downstairs so you can use that if like me you don't want to walk around with creased clothes. Breakfast was basic but ok and was included so can't complain really. The hotel also sorted us a transfer from and to the airport at a very good price. I would recommend using this service. My one negative, is that when checking out we were not asked if we enjoyed our stay. We have stayed in many hotels and this is the first time this has happened. The boy behind reception is a discredit to an otherwise very good hotel.
Had a great time at La Prima. Great location. Nice rooms, breakfast sets you up for the day. Staff always willing to help from booking transfers from airport, taxi or tickets for tours. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Budapest.
"Superb location, great comfortable stay."
Booked this hotel for the Christmas market visit and the location was excellent just off vacci street. Beds were heavenly comfortable and the rooms quite large. Reception staff spoke excellent English and speedily checked us answered all our questions. Wifi worked throughout the hotel.
"Great Location by Danube"
My wife and I initially chose the hotel by its location in the centre of Budapest by the Danube. The hotel turned out to be really excellent. The staff were friendly and very helpful and spoke exceedingly good english. The room was clean and comfortable with a very good shower in the bathroom. Breakfast was good with a wide selection of food available both hot and cold. There should be something there for anyones taste. The location of the hotel really makes is stand out. It is 1 minute walk to the River Danube and is right by the white bridge for crossing into the Buda side of the city. It is also very close to the main shopping street. What actually made it stand out was that when we had booked it the hotel emailed and offered to arrange airport transfer to the hotel and back to the airport at the end of our stay. The rates charged were less than half what I would have paid had I booked it myself from home. This was a really good service.
"Comfortable stay, but service level lacking"
Overall we had a great 5 night stay. Service level lower than a 4-star hotel. The staff in the reception is kind, but thats it. The girls working in the breakfast room should really get some costumer service training. Not a good morning or smile. The first morning I told one of them that one of the two coffee machines didn't work. She took a look at it and then did nothing. Needless to say that then machine never was fixed during our stay. I was surprise to notice that only the people in the housekeeping and maintenance department seem to be greeting you when you met them in the hallway. The rest of the staff could really learn from them. Breakfast had a lot of choices and was okay. The wifi could really be better, it was not reliable all the time. In the hotel information directory it says that slippers and bathrobes are in the closet. We didn't have this and called reception that informed us that it's only on request. They came with bathrobes for us, so no problem. But then at least update the directory. It almost sounds like I hated the hotel, I didn't! I would go back and stay there again. As long as you adjust your expectations and see this as a nice 3-star hotel and not a 4-star you'll be fine. The hotel is well kept, great bed, great shower head and good cleaning - but the service level is lacking. Such a shame! I've been working in the hotel business for 20 years, so I'm very observant when it comes to costumer service.
