"Very nice view and location but issues with temperature"
We took a large room on the 8th floor Hotel very well located Very nice view from the room Art deco decoration But some issue with the temperature in the room : very very hot... Reception said at the beginning it was the heat they stopped and then it was because of the sun ... They must find a solution as it is noisy outside if we have to open the window Otherwise breakfast a little bit too expensive
"Wonderful Room with Stunning Views"
Our stay in Marseilles was enhanced by this lovely hotel on the old port. Our very spacious and well-kept room had a full view of the harbor and was close to the interesting local fish market and charming cafes. We were able to walk from the nearby metro and to tour the old port with ease. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. We had a fine visit.
"Great location & excellent service"
Great location with a very beautiful view from the room to the old port of Marseille. Comfortzble and clean room. Excellent service and staff especially Jerome who assisted us during our stay in an efficient and elegant way.
"Best in town"
Hotel was booked for us by Railbookers and we had no knowledge of it. For our purposes it is absolutely ideal. I am sure they are far more expensive and pretentious hotels in Marseille, but none that I can see where every room has a balcony view of the Vieux Port looking directly at the hilltop Madonna. Rooms again are unpretentious but comfortable, provide everything necessary and far beyond. Staff are excellent, helpful, friendly and speaking perfect English which makes my poor attempts at French completely redundant. So, perfect situation, excellent rooms, and helpful staff and I forgive the generous and varied breakfast. Only downside is the November rain which the hotel seems powerless to control. Perhaps if they could work on that..........
"Marseille in the Fall"
The location of this hotel is excellent. It is in the heart of the Old Port Area, easy walking distance to upscale shopping, the restaurants, and tourist traps. However, our room was hot and the A/C was not working. We were told they had shut it off, then we were told it was broken. We had fabulous view with a balcony, but when we opened the windows to get some cool evening air since the room was so hot, it was incredibly noisy and bugs flew into the room. The bathroom was OK with a nice shower. We did not eat at the hotel as it was very pricey. The bed was quite comfortable. There is nothing to do at night and the area is "shady". The pick pocketers are everywhere and even with zippered cargo pants, my husband was pick pocketed at the Notre Dame Church while boarding back on the little train. There were no police or security as the police were have protests and were on strike that afternoon. No one told us that. It was an awful experience. I held onto my small secured purse for dear life. We had just come from a cruise and had been to 6 ports and never saw so many groups of young men prowling, and gypsies in any other port. We filed a police report and they were surprised that it was still going on in October, but not surprised that it happened. We took no local pubic transportation, only walking and taxis. The boats to Calanques were not running due to high seas, but we did make it to Aix en Provence by train and it was a delightful town and had a lovely lunch. The trains are great. We went to the Hard Rock to get t-shirts and souvenirs and it was empty, literally. We had just come from Barcelona where there is an hour wait and it is fun and exciting with great music. This was Dead Dead Dead.
