"After , 33 years still A grand hotel"
I was there 4 nights. I was there on business , so I never used the spa. My room facing the lake had been restored , very spacious, with an perfect bathroom facility , well lighted . although on the second floor, the room was absolutely quiet! The restaurant " le grand chêne " was excellent , although I was not pleased to be "forced "To dine At the bar , because I was alone. Having said that , the service was very good. I was at this hotel , 33 years ago , it confirms the long outstanding standards of Swiss hotels and services. The staff was excellent. I shall return! And used the spa !
"happy for recognizing your people"
I have been going to your LP's bar maybe for 4 years ,and there was a young man working behind the bar ,very very pleasant, and professional ,matter a fact I already wrote a comment but didn't know his,so I didn't mention on the comment. Yesterday I went back there again, when I start to talk about him to my friend ,he showed up with a long sleeve jacket,I was vey happy to see that he has been promoted ,well deserved . Congratulations to him and also for you .You lost a great bartender ,but you gain an excellent supervisor . By the way his name his Batiste (not sure if spell correct ).Well done
"fun city break with teenagers"
Spent the weekend in Lausanne as a treat for teenagers who have been working hard and school and wanted to do some shopping. They really enjoyed the Lausanne Palace...the friendliness of the staff, the luxurious junior suite, the pool. The Brasserie Grand Chêne was already booked out when we arrived, so we ordered room service from their menu and were served in less than 30 min. Later in the evening we went down to LP's Bar for dessert. Dinner and dessert were both impeccable.
"Below expectations - Separation man/woman in Spa'!"
We booked a room in Lausanne Palace & Spa, we thought to spend a romantic weekend benefitting from a complete spa inlcuding indoor swimming pool. But... beside the swimmingpool the sauna, hammam etc. was separated man/woman so there you go romantic weekend. I guess to many emirs are spending their money in the hotel and in order to comply with their cultuer it applies their rules... probably something like that, anyway next time we will check before booking Besides that the hotel room was poorly equiped (no coffee machine, no boiler to heat water for tea), the comfort of the bed was avarage, the runiture old, ... But the personal was very nice and helpful.
"Historic hotel in Lausanne "
I know this hotel for 11 years and come here every time when in Lausanne. Throughout the years there were many changes and unfortunately the service has deteriorated quite a bit throughout the years. The Havana bar still offers a nice and cosy atmosphere however the brasserie restaurant has become worse. The service isn't prompt and the menu barely changes. New dishes that are introduced at first are delightful however the longer the stay on the seasonal menu with time the quality becomes substandard. Would recommend Havana for live music and cocktails (high prices) and Cote Jardin restaurant for Sunday brunch. Overall good hotel, great location, the rooms are nice and clean. But there could be room for improvement in the service area.
