"Old hotel fine for a short business trip"
As also other wrote the hotel is quite old, and it has a clear architecture from around 20-30 years ago. The rooms are also old, a bit dusty and with a terrible lighting system.... if you want only the light by your bed to work it is not possible, all the room needs to be like in midday. I was also not able to open the curtains. The people working there are quite nice, as usual in Jordan, so nothing special with this, but they try to do their best and have been always really nice. Due to my platinum status I got upgraded to a two room suite, but he only nice thing was the bathroom. Finally the breakfast was quite poor in my opinion, and looked a bit tired as all the hotel. The position is central, but very close there are also other very good hotels where I have been before. So I think it is fine to stay here is you get a very good cheap price and do not need to stay more than a couple of nights.
"2 Day Trip"
Overall it is a nice hotel. You can tell it is an older design and style, but it has been maintained well. Staff at reception and check out were very friendly and helpful. I had breakfast both mornings at the buffet and it was a standard buffet. More than enough food to choose from and everything I had was fine. Water pressure was not an issue in the bathroom shower, The wireless internet connectivity gave me no issues and I was able to do everything I needed to do.
"Uneasy experience, very old hotel"
I came to Le Meridien directly after eye surgery and was impressed by unprofessional and unwelcoming check in: receptionist didn't demonstrate nor knowledge of standard procedure neither tried to make check in more comfortable (like offer to sit) considering my special condition. I was given cold room with no heater and when i informed about it the same receptionist said that i have to move to another room, however, the next room was as cold as previous and only housekeeping helped us finally and brought the heater. Why we were asked to change the room if the heater was portable' I didn't receive any answer. Upon check in i informed receptionist that i am SPG member and will provide my number later and no one was able to assist me with finding my number via internal system, however, next day i was enrolled again and received new number on my e-mail. I was also told that i cannot pay by my SPG points even though i booked directly with the hotel. As soon as i arrived i put "make a green choice" note on my door, however next day i was offered service and receptionist was surprised to hear i decided to participate. I asked duty manager Rania why i don't see any brand standards kept in hotel and i was told that i cannot judge as the standards are different from hotel to hotel. Sorry, but brand means brand standards. Front Desk manager contacted me to discuss what happened, apologized, informed that hotel is planning renovation and sent apology fruits to the room. But finally next day i found a huge cockroach in my bath. What to say, hotel exists for more than 30 years and it's uneasy to be up to date and avoid things like cockroaches. My stay was uncomfortable and dissappointing, however, i would like to say special thanks to housekeeping team and was impressed by check out experience with receptionist Mr. Amer who kept all of the standards and only in last minutes made me feel like home, in Le Meridien.
The hotel is very good. But attention: the restaurant "Jungles" just in front of the hotel is a real deception. Recognising that we just arrived from the airport they charged us 5 times the usual price. and the food was not good at all.
"Excellent Stay, Wonderful Service"
We stayed two nights in this hotel and had a wonderful experience. The hotel is grand, and rooms are nicely outfitted. What made our stay especially nice was the staff. Staff were friendly, professional, and extremely helpful with everything. We ate at two of the restaurants for dinner and had very nice meals at both. Also, of the three big "luxury" hotels we stayed at while in Jordan, I think the breakfast at Le Meridien was the best- the pastries seemed fresh, service was great, and the food overall was very good.
