This was my first time in Jordan. Things looked good as I got off the plane, but that was as good as it got. My cheap taxi to the hotel was double price compared to those who knew how to get there. Le Meridien was not up to the standard I've experienced in other cities, such as Dubai and Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia. The staff were miserable. My room was miserable. It looked over the swimming pool which would usually be a pleasure. Unfortunately the pool looked as though it HAD committed suicide.
""An oldie but a goodie""
After now staying in four different hotels in Amman I can say the Le Meridien is my 2nd preferred hotel and the only reason being is my preferred hotel is newly opened therefore of a newer and more modern design. Positives 1. Friendly and helpful check-in (with a small upgrade) 2. Luggage arrived to room within 5 minutes 3. Clean and spacious room 4. Nice breakfast, good selection of items to select, friendly chefs on Live Station (only room for improvement is to add a wider variety of fruit) 5. Clean swimming pool and recreation area and fantastic size pool for swimming lengths (hard to find in Amman) 6. Call received from Guest Service to check on satisfaction of stay on 2nd day 7. When "Do not disturb" sign was on door - the Team respected this and nobody disturbed 8. Delicious Burger from Room Service Negatives 1. Old hotel 100% recommend this hotel - will certainly be returning shortly! Thank you for a great stay!
"Not up to Meridian standards"
We were staying 4 nights at the Le Meridian. When we were checking in the receptionist extolled the cuisine of the Chinese & Italian restaurants. So we headed in the direction of the Italian Restaurant. It was closed as was the Chinese ! Apparently for a few months!! So we ate in Benihana. Next day we decided to try the coffee shop. Closed! Only open for breakfast. Not worth opening for the few guests in the hotel explained the receptionist. Only room service or Benihana. .... Heineken draught was $18:80 ! At the hotel bar....
"Good rooms, good food but no air cooling in winter"
This is what you would expect for this class of hotel, except that I am post menopausal and need it 18c or less to sleep. In winter the rooms are heated and at least 21c. I had a terrible night! And it is not cheap. Food is good. It today took ages for staff to admit they could not cool the room. Very frustrating. If you like warm bedrooms in winter, this hotel is fine!
Good hotel for business. Breakfast was wonderful. More food and good staff. Rooms are nice and clean. All the staffs very friendly and smiling all the time. Lots facilities. I like the gym. The lobby is also good place to relax.
