"A little dissapointed"
Every 6 months or so my wife and I have a need to stay in Boston for business, usually one night. We normally stay somewhere else but the other places we stay were booked already so we came upon Le Meridian. While not every review was great, it did not seem bad so we booked one night. The Pros are that the hotel was near where we had business so that was convenient, it was near MIT so that was good, the restaurant in the hotel was good enough for the local police to frequent, room service food while pricey like normal was pretty good I must say and as a Starwood member we received a free upgrade to a suite. The Cons were that the room had an odor that my wife and I could not put our finger on, the view was lacking, the room was noisy and we were about as far away from the elevator as we could get.
"Great High-End Property"
The Le Meridien hotel in Cambridge is a fantastic property located within easy walking distance of MIT, easy access to transit and not too far from Boston or Logan airport. I generally don't select this type of property for a business trip because I don't like the formal, heavy feel of higher end properties. The Le Meridien, however, offered top notch service with common areas and rooms that don't feel as stuffy as some of the competitors. Front desk service was smooth and without a wait for both check-in and check-out. Lobby bar service was friendly. The lobby area and rooms are very functional, in good condition and with good wifi. All around a good experience and I would stay there again when in the area.
"Great location - Superior staff - Excellent Facilities"
We stayed here while attending the Boston Marathon. The location was within easy walking distance of the finishing area. It is also in the middle of Harvard and MIT with all the surroundings providing a great background for the hotel. The staff was consistently on their "A" game, making sure that your stay was enjoyable. We had requested a late checkout that was honored. When one of our group experienced some abdominal distress, the staff extended the checkout even further, despite the fact that they were sold out for the night. The hotel is immaculate, always has staff around to assist in hailing cabs, parking vehicles, etc. The rooms are an appropriate size for those who don't need to host mega party's.
"The true gem of Cambridge- The staff and facilities SPARKLE"
We have stayed at this hotel before and have always truly enjoyed the facilities but on this trip they truly outdid themselves. We come up several times a year and are always greeted warmly. We were upgraded to a beautiful suite as Gold Starwood owners. Special shout out to Ana who was lovely, warm , succinct in the check in process with great humor. The rooms are all lovely and the beds very comfortable. The staff at Amuse and the housekeeping staff friendly , competent and non intrusive. Only suggestion might be for valet or bell staff to come out more consistently when new car comes in. Both for us and several other guests every time we came in and out we saw them hunting for the very busy and very kind bell staff-might want to be more clear signage for where to wait with keys -This is an awesome hotel that we hesitate to recommend as highly as we do for fear others will flock to it-----as well you should!
"Excellent facilities, service and location."
We stayed with my son (24) for 3 nights and we were so happy with this hotel. The location is perfect: few meters you have the stop bus to go to downtown Boston ( bus number 1). It takes 8-10 min to get to Prudential Center, and you pay cash in the bus. One super tip ( from a lady in the reception), is to cross the bridge walking and then continue walking along the river to the left: you will enjoy fantastic views of the city. We will come back to this hotel definitively.
