"Nice employees, okay kind of place"
What we liked most about Le Meridien was the employees. The doormen, front desk staff and room service personnel seemed to be happy we were there. The staff in the hotel dining room demonstrated the same demeanor. If your visit will involve MIT, this is the place to stay. A grocery store shares the building, which would have been great had we had the time to eat in the room. The room was mostly clean--just a few stains on the white fabric headboard and a few more on the red upholstered couch. But those stains gave the room a slight feeling of uncleanliness. Because It was below freezing outside, we needed to run the heat for much of the visit. It sounded like it would fail any minute.
Pros: -Location was good - really close to MIT. -Staff is very friendly and accommodating. -Grocery store right on site! -The HVAC system was quiet and can be easily managed by the guest. -Food was tasty and decently priced. Cons: - Hotel room looks weathered - cracks on bathroom floor and walls -Bathroom wasn't as clean as I'd have hoped. There was mildew on the curtain and hair in the tub that wasn't mine! -Walls were thin - you definitely don't want a room right off of the elevator!
"Great Place to Stay"
My boyfriend and I spent the day in Boston, and by the time we were ready to head back to his place in Providence, RI, it was past 11pm. We were both tired, and neither of us felt like driving the hour and a half back home. He decided to get us a room at Le Meridien. It was a great experience. Our reservation didn't show up until after midnight, however, the staff was understanding and did some magic to check us in and keep our reservation. The room was super nice, and the food at the restaurant/bar the next morning was delicious!
"Very nice place to stay"
We chose this hotel due to its proximity to MIT, where my son was attending a weekend event (MIT Spark). MIT is a quick, short walk away, and there many cafes and restaurants close by. There's a Star Market next door if you need some quick grocery items. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were given an upgraded room , so that was a nice touch. Cannot comment on value since we used our Starpoints for the stay. Pet peeve: what's with these mediocre toiletries with off brand European names (but made in China)'
Spent a weekend in March. Room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Hot shower and plenty of towels. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Parking garage is on the same block. Within walking distance of MIT and some restaurants.
