"Very good hotel with Alster view."
The hotel is situated directly at the Alster ("Aussenalster"). From your room, you can directly look at this lake lying in your bed. The rooms are modern and tidy, the breakfast is good. From the hotel you can reach the center in a 15 min walk. The hotel also offers vallet parking. The top level bar also offers a good view on the Alster lake. All to normal prices.
Stayed here for four nights - 28th December 2016 - 1st January 2017....Vey helpful and courteous staff, gave us a late check out on New years day at no extra charge and the breakfast arrangements were super over the festive period allowing for 'lie in' .The hotel is well placed for Hamburg city centre 10 - 15 minute walk or a 7 Euro taxi ride and within a five minute walk from the hotel there are plenty of bars and restaurants in the St Georg district to suit all tastes and budgets. We stayed in a deluxe room with lake view and found it to be very comfortable and spacious.Well done to the team at Le Meridien....thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you.
"Perfect getaway "
Our room was on 5th floor, so the view was really good (eventhough the weather was not perfect). Comfy bed, big shower, nice bath, awesome decoration, complimentary Christmas cookies... Had everything we can ask for a romantic getaway. Eventhough it was just for one night, we had a wonderful time here. The staff was very professional and helpful with our problems regarding WLAN. Also the location is really good: it takes 10 to 15 min to Jungfernstieg by feet.
"Modern comfortable hotel"
We lived in Hamburg in the 1970s, loved it, still have friends there and return regularly for the wonderfully atmospheric Christmas markets. We like to stay in a comfortable top hotel in easy walking distance of the Altstadt. In the past we have stayed in the Vier Jahreszeiten, the Atlantic and now the Meridien. They each have their own individual characteristics and are all very comfortable and luxurious. Our hotel of choice was the Vier Jahreszeiten for its sumptuous luxury, prime location and its international standards and atmosphere. However it is very busy and popular with the Hamburg glitterati and so hotel guests do not get accorded the priority for hotel facilities that they should expect. We have gone off it. The Atlantic is a much more traditionally German luxury hotel, not so public or opulent but very comfortable and very atmospheric. It is well located for the centre and is a lovely, warm family hotel, beautifully decorated for Christmas. This year for a change we went for Le Meridien, a very modern business hotel a little further away from the centre but still very conveniently located on the Alster lake. It was not quite as expensive as the other two but still provided excellent facilities. We must admit it did not have a very Christmassy atmosphere and was glass and stainless-steel high tech rather than wood traditional. Nevertheless we enjoyed a very comfortable stay, we're very well looked after by the friendly and professional staff, our rooms were spotless, spacious, well equipped, ours had a beautiful lake view and we loved the walk-in multi-shower. However, the modern very deep bath was difficult for a senior citizen to climb in and out of safely. The restaurant was on the top floor, spacious, open plan with an amazing view over the lake. The breakfast was a self service buffet of a very high international standard and the staff were great. Two things for family visitors as opposed to business guests to consider: the bar area has the same amazing view as the restaurant but is small and with limited comfortable seating. The lounge on the ground floor is stylish, functional and spacious but not relaxing and luxurious. In other words, the public areas were not particularly welcoming. In summary, we had good value at Le Meridien, were comfortable, well fed and well looked after. However, if you are looking for Christmas atmosphere and traditional luxury in addition to German efficiency, go for the Atlantic.
"Beautifully Modern and Artsy"
I really liked this property. The art is cool and modern. The neighborhood is trendy with small restaurants, a bit out-of-the-way, and the staff was really helpful. This was a great location for a business stay - very conducive to productivity and a great atmosphere as well.
