"Great hotel with a nice gym!"
The hotel is nice and clean - there's a nice bar at the top of the hotel allowing a perfect view across the city. There's also a nice lounge bar. The rooms are nice and clean and fairly spacious. It was great to see that they appear to come with an iron and an ironing board. The bed is super comfy and although quite pricy, the mini bar offers a nice selection. There's a really nice gym at the hotel which gives guests the chance of a thorough workout. However, dumbbells only go up to 26kg and there're no "heavy" barbells - only a Smith machine. Foodwise the breakfast buffet has a great selection and the a la carte menu in the evening is also really nice - although the range of selections isn't super broad. In some cases, it took quite a long time before main courses for dinner were served - and i think in one case one of the dishes was actually forgotten. Considering that the hotel was very far from fully booked, it couldn't be because the kitchen was too busy. Anyway, taste-wise the food tasted great! Would I return to this hotel next time I'm in Istanbul' Maybe... I've stayed at other hotel in the city where the gym was a bit better, but it's surely likely that I'll return to Le Meridien!
"Fine choice for solo travellers"
I went there for 3 nights and it was pretty nice in terms of quietness, helpful staff and fine cleanliness. Despite its unique architecture, it needs renovation in some areas. It would be a very good choice for those who are travelling solo or for business. Once you arrive there you will find that you are far away from almost everything, except from Etiler 5-star restaurants and Rumeli Hisarı Castle. If you want your room view on the Bosphorus Bridge you should pay more.
They are at etiler which is the most expensive neighborhood in the city. You can find many restaurants and shopping malls close by. The hotel is very well designed and equiped. The staff is very polite and helpfull. They upgraded my room where i can see the bosforus. The only thing i can say is i could not find a hair dryer in the room.
we stayed in this hotel for six nights. it is out of the action areas close to the second bridge. but that should not be a problem if you are going to use the car anyway. the surprise in this hotel is the high quality of the interior design. it is a quite hotel , and the staff are nice. we stayed in a creative room. very nicely done. unfortunately there was a smell in the room. the staff were considerate and put us without delay in an executive room . although we liked the design and layout of the creative room. my advise to the management is to improve the systematic checking of room conditions. breakfast was nice and well served .
"Very good staff, but not 5-star conditions "
This was my first stay at Le Meridien Istanbul. I will start with the location, which is rather weird and hard-to-find. The staff is very polite and customer oriented, especially towards kids. Though the hotel gives you an impression of a 5-star hotel, you witness some obvious maintenance and cleaning issues. My pillow case had a stain and had a 'rip tear'. Tye room was 16.2 degrees C when I walked in and couldn't heat it up, had to call the service. They did something with the hot water that comes to the heating system and in over an hour the room temperature stabilized. The TV has the 'innovative hub' solution but the colors of TV are distorted. In addition, the air conditioner started making weird and creepy 'whistling' noises all of a sudden. There are taxis waiting outside the hotel pretty much at all times, so that's a convenience. The breakfast is good, though nothing extraordinary. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience at all, but the fact is that you face these little maintenance issues. Quite frankly, for the money I paid, next time I will seek for the value in another hotel in Istanbul.
