"Went to "Le Belvedere""
Went to "Le Belvedere" after a long hectic day. Vivek and Subhash took special care of our needs. Staff like them being so hospitable and attentive are asset to the organisation .They also helped us to choose from the wide range of delicacies . Would surely recommend this place..
"Room was great, Service and public areas a bit less so..."
Positives: room was clean and well maintained. strong water pressure, high quality linen and towels. strong air conditioning satisfying American expectations. Location is convenient. Easy to get to from the airport. Easy to get around to many of the main sights. India Gate, Connaught Place, Parliament, some of the temples. Negatives: Public areas, gym, reception, restaurants, hallways. Trying to be hip/modern but failing. There’s a smell of cleaning detergents/perfume that seeks to overpower but comes across as too strong. Reception area is clean and airy with lots of white, however atrium below elevators and floors is dated and weird. In particular the furniture is strange. As are the “hallways” leading from the elevators to the rooms. Carpet is plush, but frayed. Looks like it has been there since the 1970s, red, orange, brown tones… The atrium is dramatic, but if you look closer its disappointing. The low point is the gym. low ceilings, three separate spaces that were clearly designed for a different use. Looking onto a depressing terrace. the gym is dingy, poorly ventilated and generally depressing. the staff is ever helpful and the equipment is also nice. But there are weird pieces of furniture and it is generally not an inviting experience. Service. they try hard and attempt to do the right thing and be attentive, but somehow fall short. Room service calls to confirm orders then still screws them up. Forgets part of the order, sends the wrong item, asks several times for clarification then still messes the order up. forgets to add silverware. It’s not for want of being helpful, but training or quality control don’t seem to have been taken care of. Restaurants are below expectations. “The one” is a mad-house of budget tourists. The buffet items don’t look appetizing and given the overall chaos, the service cannot be sophisticated. The rooftop (really top of the atrium without any windows) is so depressing, I walked right back out. Sorry didn’t give it a try. Monsoon is the best choice, had dinner there twice and it was nice. However, room Service is by far the best option.
"Great room and location "
As this was our first trip to India we arranged for the hotel car to pick us up from the airport. It was great to arrive to a welcome and a large clean and comfortable car, well worth it. The reception staff were great and very helpful. Room was really nice with a good view over Delhi and wifi worked well. Only criticism would be the bars on offer, the one on the 20th floor was very dated, empty and no atmosphere and the one on the ground floor was playing loud dance music even during the day. Otherwise great hotel.
The hotel caters for groups and so couples are pushed to one side somewhat. The rooms and bathrooms are good, and breakfast in the main dining room is excellent. But on our second morning we were moved to an offshoot of the dining room where the food on offer was more limited and the service not as good. Also, the charge made in the downstairs bar for one small cup of tea was outrageous.
Since our flight arrived at 1:30 in the morning we asked that a car from the hotel meet us at the airport which it did and this proved to be a very easy way to find our way to the hotel in the wee hours of the morning after over 24 hours of travel. We found this modern hotel very comfortable. The staff was eager to help us get oriented to our surroundings and we were able to walk around the neighborhood safely to see such nearby sights as the India Gate. The free WiFi worked well in our room. The breakfast buffet offered a lot of quality choices. The only criticism we had about the room was that the uncarpeted floors were a little squeaky which can be a distraction when one is having a difficulty sleeping due to a large time zone adjustment.
