What an amazing hotel. If you want pure relaxation go here. The hotel room was beautiful with an amazing view. It was clean, luxurious and the service was outstanding. The restaurants at the hotel were really great and the beach club in front of the hotel was a real treat with their amazing cocktails. The spa on the roof top was beautiful and had all the facilities it needed. Maybe one negative note: you just don't want to go home at the end of your stay ;-) I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in this area in Spain.

We stayed at Le Meridien Ra in September 2016. The choice of this hotel was made purely because I am SPG Platinum member and keep my loyalty to SPG. As many other reviewers said Le Meridien is the best of that El Vendrell / Callafell has to offer. There is absolutely nothing to do there outside of the Hotel. I have to say that the beach is beautiful, one of the best (this was the main purpose of our stay at Le Meridien Ra) and the beach attendant Mustafa really takes care of his guests. Been in September after the high season we didn't need to come early to get sunbeds since there were not much people at the hotel at that time, still I am thankful to Mustafa for making our beach days enjoyable. Spa at the hotel is great. I used Joseph for massage and would recommend him. Massage prices are very reasonable especially considering good quality. At the same time there were plenty of missed opportunities for this hotel. Platinum recognition is well below average. I asked for Platinum upgrade and got none saying that all rooms were occupied...which wasn't truth. The first room had sliding door broken with window shaken within the door frame and rubber seal sticking out. The sink had a drain issue as well so we came back and requested another room. Front desk Manager Allesio wasn't helpful but finally "find" one room with front ocean view and said that he had to "downgrade" one of the coming guests to accommodate us which wasn't truth either. These days when everyone with the smartphone can immediately check on SPG app room availability this hotel excuse looks like a joke at best. The Starwood app showed me plenty of the Front Ocean view rooms and even some duplex available. Breakfast at the hotel: big variety but the below average quality of food. We had to stay in very big line for breakfast on Saturday morning. We LOVE Spanish food but were upset with the breakfast quality at Le Meridien Ra. Because of that we didn't tried dinner at the Hotel and gave our well paid business to the near by restaurants. BTW: dinner at the hotel restaurant is well overpriced. Lunch at the Beach was actually good, both drinks and food. The checkout from the hotel was smooth and another front desk manager hand over couple of cold water bottles which was a nice touch for our car trip. We left with mixed feelings of great beach and clear opportunities for improvements at the hotel...
Hotel in overall is good, we had an amazing room with sea view but no terrace or balcony. SPA is lovely, saunas and swimming pool on the top floor. Food in the hotel is good. Breakfast had a big choice of cheese, pastries and juices. My favourite was healthy croissant with a seeds. :) Beach is good, but if you would like to get a sunbed you have to wake up very early :) Beach bar is good, food was delicious and prices was good. Callafel is little town with great facilities for all ages from baby's to elderly people. We fall in love with a town. Definitely will be back to the hotel.
"Stunning Hotel, Wonderful Spa!"
The ONLY really bad things about this hotel is that you can hear every footstep, voice and movement from the hallways and other rooms, while you are in your room. DO NOT order room service though - the food is terrible and the service mediocre EVERYTHING else is just amazing. Aside from these two issues - this hotel is perfect. Great for couples. If there were children there - I did not see them. The hotel restaurant is PHENOMENAL - I very very highly recommend it. The food melts in your mouth and the service is fantastic. The nighttime lounge is great too - try the cheese board with their wines or coffee - we did this for two of our nights. The hotel itself is stunning - beautiful big rooms, great bathrooms, views of the ocean and beautiful patio. This hotel is VERY clean. The beach is great - with a boardwalk alongside so that you can walk or bike if you want to. The spa is to die for - we did a spa treatment and were blown away with the luxury. We also tried out the pools - which are such an amazing experience when you want to relax and get away. The pools are also free, along with the steam rooms and the sauna. I would go back in a heartbeat except for the fact that I know the noise levels will not allow for the peace that hotel can offer. .
