"Wrong charge. Hotel apologized. Never refunded."
Mediocre hotel. Room was clean and not super small, although awkward shape. Not in the best part of downtown. There is literally nothing in walking distance that you can walk over late night to grab a bite or drink. Very small lobby. Valet staff seemed courteous. Saw a Keurig machine outside one room. For the price tag, I think there might be better hotels. Definitely not a short walking to Union Square.
"Best views in the city"
My husband and I travel to San Francisco from NYC several times a month either for work or to see my family. We have stayed in all of the nice hotels in the city, and while our favorites are the Ritz Carlton or the Four Seasons, we also like to stay here when we visit for work. It is well-located a short walk from the financial district and to the Ferry Building, the rooms are large, bright, have great views, and have been nicely renovated in a modern way a couple of years ago. It was a bit drab before but now the rooms are all white with black and orange accents, with large windows and great views of the city. They also have excellent bath products (I think they're Peter Thomas Roth), which for business travelers is a huge relief to our skin and hair.
"A happy return"
This is my second stay at this wonderful SF hotel...great room..very comfortable bed..large bathroom. .with a bath..!..well stocked minibar. .great views..free wifi..good hotel restaurant food..wonderfully helpful reception staff..close enough to most of the SF things you may need on a business trip. .let me have a late..late check out free..worth joining their starwoods club thing...it's free too..happy to go back anytime!
Yep I'd stay there again. It's not great but if the rate is ok and the location suits it's fine. The check in area could be improved. It's very small and almost temporary looking. When they pile up files on back wall it can look messy. First impressions. The bar needs a color overhaul. It is so grey on grey that it can be overwhelming. Perhaps they were channeling Alcatraz. Rooms are very quiet. Beds great. In room dining not great. Use as last resort. Gym excellent for a hotel. Breakfast was mixed. I was served by ying and yang. Ying was cheerful, calm and not too intrusive. Yang was in such a flustered rush he spoilt the start of the day. NB it's your guests breakfast, we want peace and calm. Maybe he missed his calling as a courier driver. Location is ok. Away from tourist rush. Some very good restaurants near. Go to Leo's. You can walk to waterfront and union square. I used a hotel bike to go over the GG bridge and absolutely recommend it.
Beautiful Hotel in the Financial District. Safe area for walking and just a couple of blocks from the waterfront. We could see the bay and Nob Hill from our hotel room. Rooms were nicely appointed. The gentleman who helped at the front desk was exceptional, we had gotten our arrival date mixed up and arrived a day early, he was very understanding and happily accommodated our needs which gives him five stars plus in our book.
