"Adequate, nice setting, cleanliness needs improving"
Having visited China many times now on business over 15 years, the five star hotel experience has changed and improved dramatically. I stayed in this hotel when it first opened as one of the initial guests. At the time it was fresh and new. Unfortunately now it has become a bit dated, however, was overall quite agreeable for the required stay. The setting is quite pretty and there seems to be many activities for families using it for a nature style vacation on the weekends. What I liked; - room size is good - room view and surrounding forest/park is very nice - conference facilities are good - staff is friendly and tries hard What needs improvement; - the cleanliness and attention to detail in cleaning the room is very poor (see photos) - the decor could use an interior design update - the shower amenities are not that nice (gel, conditioner, shampoo) It should be noted that the staff and management was also very accommodating with a change in my plans (early departure required) and arranging a late checkout. That was helpful and appreciated.
"Nice hotel but needs improvement for the money paid"
Le Meridian is a luxury brand and for an expensive hotel brand this hotel was a bit disappointing. Though the room and the hotel itself was clean and spacious, it didn't offer top-notch service and some of the amenities were low quality. It claims to be a resort but doesn't offer the best services that a resort should. It's very expensive for the quality provided.
"Worst ever I've ever stayed"
First, I did not stay in any hotels under SPG brand, this is my first time stayed in SPG property. BUT, you sucks and be the worst. As this is a children-friendly hotel, when we arrived 2 p.m. there are many people waiting for check-in, and we were told the room preparation time would be at least 3 p.m. A man, standing besides the front desk, may be manger, we asked him, was your check-in efficiency always so slow, he had no replied and looked like in sleepy, are you kidding me' what are you doing standing for on behalf of the first impression given to customer' Second, the staff at check-in desk, their work efficiency are really slow, almost use 10 mins for every customer, usually in IHG, Marriott, the check-in process was within 5 mins, and what's more, they charged every customer for CNY 3000 DEPOSIT, yes, you did not believe, right' and when i asked why they charged so much, compared to other mid-ranged hotels, usually 500 CNY equivalent deposit, super ridiculous, right' Third, when at check-in and check-out, when i am asking for questions, the customer next, jumped the queue and interrupted me, the staff did nothing but served us at same time, this must be the most basic service, EVERYONE NEED TO QUEUE, but you know this is in china, no rules, no courtesy. As for the good part, the buffet dinner offered a wide range of choice, and the staff there always pay attention to help, well done. As for the overall consideration, I would NEVER recommend such a hotel, with no efficiency, with no basic rules, with no any service.
"Maybe ok for some..."
It actually may have been a great hotel a few years back, looks like a resort, but for a business stay it was not good. The room was HOT, AC never cooled the room adequately, the room was dark, internet slow, and tv selection for English options on the light side. Never ate breakfast in the hotel and if it was anything like the dinner buffet, I am glad I didn't! Dinner buffet was, how can I say it nicely, bad. Food was cold, not many options, poor beverage selections, and really a low end dinner all around. As I said the room was terribly hot. Spent two sleepless nights in there and fortunately I was up most of the night working, I didn't have to try to sleep. Although there were many Chinese families seemingly enjoying their stay, maybe be for a holiday and enjoying the recreation options a business traveler never gets to do it would be ok, but for a business person, it was not a good option for me and hope I dont have to return...
"Low Quality and very expensive"
We stayed for the weekend and we were with high expectation because of the very high price of the rooms, however, it was very disappointing, the rooms are really standard, courtines are not total black out and the installations in general are quite old and not well maintained. The food is horrible, buffet and a la cart and also very expensive, personnel can't speak English and the service is not even acceptable. In the pool the drinks and food are very limited. My advice, stay somewhere else
