"Lovely hotel and location"
This hotel is located in Balluta Bay, St Julian's it's certainly the more up-market part of Malta - Paceville and Sliema either side are far more 'resort' type places. The hotel, although lovely, I wouldn't describe it as 5 star - maybe a nice 4 star. We stayed on the executive floor, we did have a decent sized room with a sea view but the cleanliness wasn't perfect. The cleaners are all lovely and friendly but the work is not 5 star standard. We booked an executive room for access to the lounge - the breakfast was mediocre at best; I would recommend asking for fresh fried eggs as the lounge buffet is pretty congealed and unappetising. There were always lots of flies around the cut fruit so I could never eat that. Some of the staff were lovely but some were quite abrupt, you would barely finish eating before they take your plate but they never kept things like the coffee machine stocked or the plates and cups stocked. A strange set-up and again certainly not 5 star. The pool area was nice and there an adults only area for sun bathing which is great if you've no children yourself. We had a balcony with a view of the bay which was gorgeous however the church on the other side of the bay rings its bells from early in the morning at regular intervals until the evening, this can be disturbing if you're trying to sleep. Overall it's a nice hotel but too expensive for 4 star service.
"Perfect holiday hotel."
Yet another 10 day holiday at this fantastic hotel, as usual great reception on arrival staff very attentive all you needs taken care of with out question. Rooms in excellent condition fully stocked with toiletries etc: views across Ballota Bay are stunning.
"Good - not quite excellent"
Have stayed here three times before. We have always treated ourselves to an executive room with sea view balcony and as usual this was stunning. Enjoyed breakfast in the executive lounge and the pre-dinner drinks and snacks. Louiseanne who was often on duty in the exec lounge was exceptional - incredibly high standards of customer service, friendly while also professional and had a lovely smile! A real credit to the hotel. Staff generally are helpful, pleasant and well trained. There are just some niggles with the hotel which stop me giving a five star review, in particular the housekeeping. As we were having some spa treatments and also using the pool we had asked if the room could be serviced by 1pm and a note was made but this didn't always happen and we kept having to leave notes on the service trolley asking for it to be done if we needed to get ready for the spa. There was also one day when no bathmat and spare toilet roll were left. I wonder if the hotel has cut down on cleaning staff as housekeeping has been better in previous years. To give the hotel credit, a problem on the last day about our room was dealt with very quickly and well with a free extended check out and coffee, but it is the little niggles that aren't worth raising with reception that tip my review to 4star. Would still stay again.
"Best hotel ever"
I've loved everything about this hotel Location : super close to the centre but not in the messiness Facilities: over the top - the roof pool, the SPA treatments, the inside pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room, gym Surroundings : easy access to super restaurants, beach and clubbing area I've been on a solo trip and given myself a lovely treat. Spent a whole day in the SPA and health area Highly recommended
