"Comfortable boutique hotel"
This is a lovely hotel in the Vinohrady district (originally a place for vineyards, which is what “Vinohrady” means, anyway). It is about 25 minute walk from the Old Town. This is an affluent and beautiful district, with Art Deco houses, trees and parks overlooking either the centre or other parts of the city. It is also very popular among expats and young professionals. We stayed in this hotel over the New Year period. The hotel was very busy, especially during breakfast when there were not enough tables. Guests sometimes had to wait for a table, or be seated in the cigar room, which still had cigar smoke lingering in the air from the night before. Breakfast itself was just fine - the usual hotel breakfast selection that is not going to insult you but also not going to wow you. I was missing an omelette or pancakes made to order or something different. We stayed in a suite on the top floor. The room was reasonably spacious, well appointed, the random photos of Prague were slightly too random, but the bed was large and incredibly comfortable, which to me was the highlight of this hotel. Due to an error (we made) while reserving, the hotel thought we were staying with a child. When we arrived one of the beds had special cartoon bedlinen and a kiddie bathrobe, which was very sweet. Overall service standards (outside the breakfast room) seemed to be pretty high, very professional but also friendly and not at all stuffy. The service was prompt, very friendly and helpful, which in Prague is not that usual. We didn't find time during our stay to visit the spa, we managed to visit the gym, which is.... It is a good and comfortable hotel, but has it wow me to the extant of staying there again, sadly not. I think I would rather pay little bit extra to stay somewhere more central.
We got this hotel through a Voyage Privé deal. It was not cheap and my wife thought it was not really five star but I found it excellent: nice quiet room, excellent bed, luxurious bathroom and good quality buffet breakfast. Our room looked out on a courtyard surrounded by blocks of flats - very boring - but it was winter and dark most of the time we were at the hotel, this did not matter. There is a spa but we were too busy to check it out. All the staff were helpful and courteous. The hotel is 20-25 mins by tram/metro from the Old Town Square (the centre of Staré Mēsto) but that's no problem if, like us, you intend to spend all day in the city. I'm sure we would have got a better deal had we booked the hotel direct or via a Prague agent. Next time, maybe.
"Lovely Hotel with great service"
This is a famous Hotel in Prague. It is not a large hotel and has a list of very famous guests. Service is excellent, people there are so very helpful and rooms are lovely and well appointed. The breakfast is outstanding. Hotel is very clean, free wifi and definitely one of the best Hotels we have stayed at.
"Le Palais Hotel - Fantastique - YOUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME"
We all want to have the same things when we travel - Good Food, Clean Room, Good Service, WiFi perhaps some extra. Well, at Hotel Le Palais you just hit the Jackpot. This is a 5 Star Boutique Hotel with the Price of a 2 Star Hotel - your room is elegant, every amenity is there for your enjoyment but the real treat is the Staff that treat you like a Celebrity or King and Queen- no where in the world that I have travelled did I ever receive such a level of excellence - the food is Superb and all fresh, the rooms are like a Movie Star would have and from every level this hotel makes your stay a Memorable one that you wish to repeat and repeat. Take note of the bed and pillows for a great nights sleep, your breakfast buffet is out of Gourmet Magazine and all you want. On top don't forget Sous Chef Rene and the white haired Gent Miroslav "the heart of the hotel" Many famous people have stayed here and whether you have a regular room or the best suite you feel "so special" that honestly you hate to go home. Six stars if that was possible and cleanliness that the pickiest New Yorker would be happy. Kudos - Well done!
