"Won't be back"
2:00 am the power goes out and does not come back on until 3:30 all the while the whole city is lit up outside. The front desk has no idea how long power will be out or why. Meanwhile some woman begins to scream on our floor "no help", when attempting to contact the front desk from my cell phone (bc the neither room phone worked from the time of check in) I got an "all circuits are busy" signal....for 30 minutes. The tub/shower leaked the ENTIRE stay, constantly dropping water which became irritating. Also when calling for ice water (no ice machines) and not receiving anything for another hour I had to call again to question where my water was. I understand being busy but over an hour for water'' Thankfully the reason they get a 2 is for the fantastic valets who are quick and courteous 100% of the time.
Very nice hotel, with very attentive staff. Nice rooms, delicious Sunday brunch. Three blocks from the St Charles trolley line, hop on and tour the city! Located on Poydras, very convenient to many parts of NOLA.
It is an absolutely beautiful hotel however I must warn if you are looking for modern decor this (or many of the other hotels in this area of New Orleans) is not the place for you. This was my second stay at this hotel. The hotel is undergoing renovation, installing new carpet and fixtures and it looks amazing. Pure luxury with beautiful decor almost as if you walked into a palace. The late evening PB&J sandwiches is a great treat after a long day of seeing the city. Most of the staff is very knowledgeable and try to assist in any way they can. The hotel is walking distance to the Superdome, Canal Street and other night life spots associated with New Orleans. My only complaints are; be prepared to pay for the valet parking (it was $39+tax) which I considered to be expensive. It may be cheaper other weekends. There are other lots near the hotel but I prefer to not to be bothered with walking a block away from hotel with luggage in tow. My second concern was I called for room service as they advertised late night room service and was told they do not do late night room service. After a brief hold and me informing the employee the room service menu states it was available, I was told they could not assist me with this request on this night as there was no cook. I felt guests should be informed at check in or as soon as it becomes known to management if something has changed. Overall this was a wonderful experience and the hotel is awesome.
We woke up with bed bug bites all over our bodies! Manger refuse to do anything without corporate. Still waiting for something to get done! To top it off, we were awaken by a broken AC what was louder that a roaring lion!
"Old World Luxury with New Orleans Charm"
I pulled up, the valet took my car, the bell personage took my luggage and left me free to walk through the lobby unencumberated. Wholly Mama full of muffalettas! Itwas palatial inside with white marble and decadent window treatments and upholsteries. The staff is friendly yet 100% professional and helped me with a small problem as soon as I brought it up. My room was more of the same. The bathroom was all solid black granite, with lots of amenities including very large toiletries, a big thick robe and slippers. I slept like a grizzly tucked into the 2000 count linens and numerous pillows they provide. The next morning, I headed down for a big New Orleans breakfast. The dining room was just as impressive as the hotel. I paid separately for breakfast and left there unable to button my pants because there was too many fantabulous options and I over-indulged. As soon as you step out, you are on the edge of the French Quarter and not far from the river so the location was perfect for me to go burn off my grillades! Can I just say I own a small motel and I watch details down to the door nails and was thoroughly impressed.
