Le Richemond is ideally located in the heart of the city, a few minutes walk from the main train station and 15 minutes by car from the International Airport. Just over the bridge, on the rive gauche, guests can discover the old city and the Cathedral Saint-Pierre, the museums district and the luxury boutiques of the Rue du Rhône.
One of my favorite hotels so far. Impeccable customer service, attentive and friendly staff, bed was big and comfortable . Delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner. I would like to give a shoutout to Lamine who attended us with a lot of grace during breakfast and went out of his way to make us happy. He asked the kitchen to prepare apple purée for my baby boy and was professional and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
Right next to the Geneva Lake! I go to Geneva on work very often and this hotel is excellent. Rooms are vet well maintained and the bar downstairs is very good. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Highly Recommend!
"Service par excellence"
This was a short two night business trip. After ariving very early at 8.45am after a long overnight flight from Asia I was greeted by name as I arrived and quickly shown into the hotel. Check in was swift, polite, friendly and efficient, and most of all, despite the very early hour, my room was available. To make it even better I was given an upgrade to an executive room. I was settled in the room probably no more than ten minutes after arrival which was just what I needed after my long journey. The room itself was spacious, modern and spotlessly clean. All fittings were of a high standard and working as they should. The bathroom was large and had a very good shower. The room was well cleaned each day and turned back on an evening. Wifi in the room, and indeed throughout the hotel was free and efficient. I only used the restaurant for breakfast. A good choice of continental buffet and everything was fresh and tasty. Price of breakfast at CHF40 was on the high side, but I suppose this is Geneva after all and in a high quality hotel like this, it's expected. There's a small bar in the lobby which is cosy and comfortable. Location is good. Close to the lake and just a short walk from the shops and the old town. Train station is close by. The one thing that really stood out on this visit was the service. From the moment I stepped out of my car on arrival to the moment I left, every single member of staff delivered an excellent service. The team on the front desk in particular were always attentive without being intrusive, and were there when I needed them. Le Richemond is a hotel that I would highly recommend and I hope to visit again the next time I'm in Geneva.
"an old world place"
They say looks are often deceptive...and so is the case with the Le Richemond hotel in Geneva. The exterior of the building, not that it is off putting at all, just that it does not have have all the gleaming glass and chrome so often found nowadays, hides a really charming interior. The rooms are very tastefully appointed, the bathrooms really excellent and the rooms very very comfortable. Add to it a room with a balcony overlooking the Lake Geneva...and there's very little else one could ask for in the city! The staff too are very courteous, very helpful and warm and that makes the stay all that more remarkable.
"it was a five stars hotel, surely but not anymore"
Even if the service is pretty close to the one of a palace, but not so professional, the rooms despite a stupendous view over the lake are far away from the standing of a 5 stars palace. They are pretty dull and outdated. Everything looks like the owner just try to update them without going through the necessary investment. For example the quite old tv set did not work. AT 9Pm some tried to fix it. After about 1/2 an hour, I was proposed that some technician from outside brings and and install a new one ( Usually I sleep at night!!!). This would have needed , I am sure , at least one more hour. But at no time ,I was proposed another room. What is funnier, as I told the receptionist that I prefered to avoid more desagrement and go to sleep, I was proposed a free camomille tea! Another funny point. I was freezing in my room. Not only the heating system did not properly work but I was told the day after that temperature was, whatever, limited to 23° celsius. You need to make a special request that the heater goes to an higher level! I stop here as this place does not deserve more time to waste on critics.
