"Good location and relatively large room"
It is located close the train station in the old city, so it is very convenient to walk to most tourist spot. The room is same as the USA hotels so it is much larger than other German hotels because most German hotels uses old building which has smaller room. There is a bathtub, not only a shower so it helps to get a better rest. The breakfast is good too although it costs 17 euro extra, and the parking is 22 euros.
"Underwhelming at Best"
Where to start' Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and given our room for 3 people. Only problem was the room was tiny and only 1 King bed in it. No room for another adult which was my 82 year old mother. Simple a mistake Ok. Going back down to reception the woman who checked us in quite bluntly told us we should have booked a studio or apartment for 3 people! However booking online did not give me that option and when I booked a room for 3 people and a superior deluxe, well the room showed plenty of space. Kindly the next guy on reception said he would fix the problem and give us a larger room. We go back up with our luggage to find another room with 1 bed, slightly larger but not what we booked online. Again back to reception with my mother. THANK YOU Julia ( Julie ) for getting it sorted and giving us a room with 2 double beds and breakfast! Clearly this should have been the first solution Pro's: *Julia at Reception was brilliant and to be honest the only reason we stayed at the hotel in the end. * bartender made some great cocktails * comfortable beds Con's: * wifi costs 9.50 extra for slow WiFi or 20 euors for fast WiFi( almost every hotel now includes this in the price ) * needs refurbishing * too many people at breakfast for the waitresses to manage * room service, food came cold * only one buffet for that many people in a hotel is too hard to manage, there was a small seperate buffet in another room but with only the absolute basics. If we had paid for breakfast we would have been even more horrified .. again thank you to Julia for organising breakfast for us. * totally failed on fulfilling booking requirements The main reason for these comments are that we have stayed at the Sheraton and Marriott several times in other cities and this property just failed. We had stayed the night before at another hotel in Leipzig that for half the price was overwhelmingly better. Sorry Marriott not on this occasion
"Great location and always same standard"
The room and bathroom is clean and typical hotel setup. Beds are just great! No powerplugs without moving the desk or bed...please change thus asap, most annoying! As silver customer i always get dried fruits, nice but not really my thing. The dried fruits don t look good and are on an open plate. Going there very 3 months a week, lets me the hotel always have the same standards. Friendly staff. Some champagne or cava and lactose free products would bring the breakfast to the next level.
"2nd stay, same problem. No sleep due to hot room"
Still a really nice hotel if you want a hot room. The air is stuffy and we could get no airflow. I sweated the night away not sleeping. Both times I have stayed the staff admitted to knowing the air is a problem but there dims nothing they can do. There will not be a 3rd time
"Great customer service, perfect location"
We had never been to Leipzig despite this being my fourth trip to Germany. We chose this as one of our stopping points on our drive up from Munich to Berlin. We stayed there two nights. Our two rooms were not ready for us when we arrived, and we waited a while for them to be cleaned. The front desk person, Ahmed Siddick, was very apologetic about our wait and upgraded us to a junior suite and adjoining room. It was spacious, clean and well-appointed. We had breakfast included which was a nice buffet that included an omelette bar. The location was perfect for walking to everything in the Altstadt. There were tons of places to eat, and a lot of charming "hofs" (passageways with shops and restaurants within them). We would definitely stay there, again, and recommend it to all who travel to Leipzig. It was a great value for the money!
