My Wife and I stayed at the Viceroy for one night on the way to New Zealand. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us after arriving from an early AM flight. Most significant though was the way they handled our departure. We had scheduled a limo for the ride to the airport. Pick up time came and went and no car arrived. When I called Wilshire, I was told that the car was scheduled for 9:45, our flight departure time and not 6:30 as we had requested. When Erica (at the reception desk) heard my conversation, she immediately stepped in and ordered a replacement car and we went on to the airport as planned. This even though the error was with Wilshire and not the hotel. The only negative note is that our room overlooked the street. Despite the doors having heavy laminated glass the noise of the traffic below was quite prominent. The problem being that there is no seal on the threshold and the sound passes right through the gap. To their credit, they did offer to move us to another room.
I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my stay. This was a trip with three of my sisters-in-law and we all wanted to stay longer! The room was lovely. The decor and all appointments were comfortable and modern...all in metallic shades. I loved the mixture of designs. I would never have thought to put things together they way they did but it was fabulous. Spacious only begins to describe the size of the rooms. We felt as if we were staying in luxury apartments. Though it was winter, we enjoyed sitting out in the sunshine on the roof. The views are breathtaking and the whole area so comfortable for relaxing. Wish we had more time up there. The restaurant was so good and the wait staff friendly and kind. The hotel has a great calmness to it that makes you feel relaxed and at home from the moment you enter. The valets and doormen were gracious and from the first moment remembered our names and were quick to greet us each time we entered or exited the property. The concierge(s) were fabulous! One night we couldn't decide where to make a reservation and found that he was so patient with our indecision and worked hard to make our evening a success. I was called away early due to a death in the family. It was very early in the morning and yet the front desk staff took the initiative to go back to the kitchen and make coffee, give me water bottles and have a cab waiting all before I got off the elevator to leave. The valet had the kindest wishes and sweet words as I left. I'm so sorry that I wasn't able to finish the last day so that I could thank everyone in person and jot down names to send personal thank you's. It was a wonderful experience. If my travels (and budget) allow another trip to LA, It will be a place I choose for sure.
Room was perfectly designed and appointed for every detail to make our stay comfortable, convenient and with impeckable service. By far, the finest hotel in Beverly Hills. Front desk, bell service and conceirge services excellent.
"Great property but a couple of niggles"
Room was fabulous, gym was great, lots of things that I never knew I wanted were there. There are some niggles. Coffee wasn't refilled in the room and dirty glasses were neither cleaned nor replaced by housekeeping, even after complaining. Service in the restaurant and bar was poor. Nearly wonderful.
"Five Star Hotel in Great Beverly Hills Location"
I stayed at the Viceroy L'Ermitage for an R&R weekend on my way back to NYC after two weeks in Tokyo. The room was very nice, and the staff courteous and responsive. I spent most of the weekend with friends in West Hollywood or nursing my jet lag (which the room was excellent for), and when I did head out from the hotel into Beverly Hills, the areas I wanted to get to were all within walking distance or a very short car ride. I would stay again.
