"disappointed and upset"
7 of us have drinks around 2 at the hotel bar 15th Oct. While we relaxing at the bar, there was a young lady came out from the back of the bar with a glass of water on hand, suddenly she throw it on the floor and of course sharply, dangerous pieces of glasses full on the floor. Other staffs tried to stop her but she made the same thing again and keep screaming. After few mintues then she left. She really scared on us but it is not the worst, worst thing is we found that she is one of the staff that at the restaurant reception. I have no idea whats wrong with her but we really upset on what we saw, Luckily she did not hurt anyone but it may happen next time. This hotel is wonderful with everything such as room, food, location and services, but this kind of situation make us feel it is not the first choice again.
"L'hotel Tries Harder..."
like the ad slogan of one of the major US car rental companies. I so want to like this hotel because I think the management cares so much. Amazingly, the hotel manager is most responsive to Trip Advisor reviews. However, I encountered a few problems, but let's focus on the positive. Check in was painless and my requested reserved room was clean and comfortable. The staff is gracious and most accommodating and most speak English completely fluently. The arrival team on P4 is most helpful in getting you into the hotel and getting you a taxi to get out as well as communicate to drivers where one is going. The lobby has a comfy naturally lit cafe w/ complimentary espresso machine and of course free wifi. The breakfast is diversely Western and Asian. The morning watermelon is a most sweet treat. Finally, I had a tour group on my floor that thought that hallway was a meeting place and they rudely yapped and shouted on a Saturday morning like it was a public playground. I complained and guest services manager Felix did something about it. They did not wake me @ 6am on Sunday morning like the day before. Kudos! The unfortunate negatives start with location, location, location. This hotel is next to a highway,(hardly anything to walk to in the way of cafes etc.) in a shabby almost dismal Blade Runner-esque neighborhood, not near anything so every outing is a taxi ride. The rooms are nicely appointed but a little tired - the dark wood is initially depressing, but you get used to it. But, not sure that is a good thing. Plugs, desk and lighting are all quite nice but bathroom fixtures are from another era...but again, all maintained. My room key, needed to access the elevator and floors had to be rekeyed 4 times over five days. And the elevators themselves play games w/ guests. Sometimes they stop at one's floor, other times the door just opens and closes and that's it - and it's out to another elevator w/ fingers X'd that it will get you somewhere. I do think that the staff team tries harder than most hotels to assure that guests have a good stay and I rate L'Hotel higher for that despite the negatives that cannot be changed easily, although the elevators DEFINITELY needed a tune up (and down). Thanks L'hotel team for making my 5-day stay most pleasant despite the negatives.
"Last minute booking"
We booked here after having to cancel our wedding anniversary trip to Shanghai at the last minute due to injury. We booked online through Expedia. The pictures look a little nicer than reality but the lovely lady at reception made up for that. When we booked we had no idea how out of the way the hotel is but have been assured that the buses run regularly into the main areas. There are very little dining options near the hotel and for anyone who is fussy the Lis Cafe menu is limited. It was probably the worst meal I've had in Hong Kong but again the service was great. The rooms look a little dated but the other parts of the hotel are lovely and the free coffee/relaxation area is a nice touch. Our view from our room is awful but I'm likely comparing it to the hotel we had planned for our anniversary night in Shanghai. Check in was simple and although it wasn't what we planned as far as hotels are concerned we will make do for the two nights we are booked. I would recommend stocking up on snacks, light refreshments prior to travelling here as shopping appears to be non-existent in this area. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day.
"good service hotel"
great hotel, front desk with good service i like the room design, but the toilet has a bad smell and not flush properly wifi signal is bad, always disconnect there are no shuttle bus service, but you can take public bus to the hotel and from the hotel to many places like causeway bay, central, tst etc. special staff to mention: a male operator from service call centre(jerry), i did called alot of time to him(which i know is quite annoying), and he still shows his professionalism to answer all my questions
Credit cards accepted by the hotel: Visa - MasterCard
