A 6-minute walk from the MUSA underwater art museum, this all-inclusive, adults-only resort is also 4.2 km from the Museo Maya de Cancún archaeological museum.
This is a high quality hotel! Few points are: waiters seeking tips and impairing service in the absence (it is a all inclusive hotel, people are not always with money); infra could have more covered areas for rainy days; and the price that is expensive, although owing due all things offered. I totally recommend it for everyone looking for a remarkable experience in cancun!Comment of V. Breno , Brazil the 2016-12-26

Everything was great. Staff was outstanding. Food delicious.Comment of S. Susan , United States the 2015-08-01
The hotel, food and service were outstanding. First time for me to book all-inclusive/ adults only resort and I loved it. Particularly the different restaurants with their food choices and quality/freshness/innovation of meals impressed me. I gave sound insulation an "average" - our room was next to elevator and we could hear everyone coming and going, but that was the only negative thing. Also, the hotel put together a special party for the FIFA Soccer end game which was outstanding.Comment of M. Christiane , United States the 2014-06-25
"As THE Husband said "Live Aqua has it figured out!!""
We try to go to Cancun at least once a year sometimes more. We have always wanted to stay at Live Aqua but it didn't work out with our schedule and their availability. We had just a few days to get away and unfortunately it was during spring break. After looking over my usual travel website I went to Southwest Airlines website and found an amazing deal for 3 nights at Live Aqua!! We did have to change planes in Austin both ways, but customs in Austin beats Dallas custom lines any day! Like several reviewers before me, I won't go into a long and loving review of Live Aqua, if you have read the reviews believe all the great things! Live Aqua is that good and better. We checked in and asked if they had an Ocean Front or View available, Maria checked and we got a room on the 5th floor, and we opted in for the Aqua Club. Highly recommend the Aqua Club. One morning the line at the breakfast buffet was a 20 minute wait, and we just went back upstairs and had a light breakfast at the club. Also a great place for a snack or dessert. Daniel and the ladies at the desk make every day special! We had dinner at MB twice I was craving the Habanero soup, it is addictive! Service at MB: Ignacio calls the ladies darling and is so attentive without hovering. Anywhere at Live Aqua the service is exceptional! Dinner at Hidden Garden on the second night was a romantic dinner as we have had in a long time. Roy was great and we had Welcome drinks all evening long! Some of the things I noticed that set LA apart from the others: You can hang out by the pool and swim past the usual 6 pm close time at other resorts. We saw guests enjoying the hot tub and pools as late as 10 and the Azure bar serves till 11. At other resorts it was like we were "grounded" and couldn't be by the pool after sunset. They have real ketchup! Our TV was a smart TV so at night we could enjoy our Netflix account and relax without channel surfing. And most importantly to me, I have always been a little worried about getting sick when I go to Mexico, a throw back to late 1980s and a trip to Acapulco so I get a prescription for Bactrim and take it one day before and everyday we are in Mexico. We didn't have time to get the prescription before we left and I didn't make it to the pharmacy and have even heard that it is no longer available for purchase. I drank the water, had ice in my drinks ate whatever I wanted with no problems what so ever! First time ever!! Seriously I could go on and on about how wonderful Live Aqua is and how you'll love it but you should just go, you will Love it! Also look for Graciel on the beach and pool area, he is the BEST! As the title of this review, it seems like Live Aqua went all over the world and got the best of the best, staff, decor, rooms, everything and brought it back to Cancun! They have it figured out!
"GET MARRIED AT LIVE AQUA"
We just got married at Live Aqua and it was an amazing experience. The wedding coordinators Paulina and Paola made life for me leading up to the wedding SO EASY. They sent me options and pictures and I chose and they made everything happen. We had 30 people stay at the resort with us and everyone loved it. We got married on the beach, which was set up beautifully. We chose to have the reception by the pool, which we didn't realize until we got there was right on the ocean and proved for the perfect back drop for pictures and dancing around the pool was so much fun. My husband and I were treated as VIPs and upgraded to a suite which was beautiful and so big - there was plenty of room for me and my bridesmaids and my mom and mother in law and aunt to all get ready and help with ease. The food was good and presented beautifully. They even surprised us with balloons and glow sticks while dancing. It was more than I could've even imagined for my destination wedding :) Paulina and Paola greeted us when we got there and went over all the details so I did not have to stress as the bride. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
"Nice hotel, great location."
Our room was on the 8th floor. The view was wonderful!! The room itself was very clean and large. The drawback was at night, the wind would kick up and rattle the door all night long even though there were windows in the hallway to block it. We did the all inclusive package which was great for cocktails. The restaurants were okay, nothing special. There are a lot of pools, really, a lot, with varying degrees of temperatures. And a huge hot tub. Upon arrival, the hotel had a very funky smell to it, kind of like backed up septic tanks. This was just in the driveway at arrival and in the lobby. They had a lot of essential oil vaporizers going to hide the odor. Despite the odor, we would definitely stay again. The staff were very friendly and very helpful in all situations we came across.
I would still rate the property a 4 star but last year it was a 4.5 seemed like less beach servers on pool and beach. Quality of staff was as in the past "Excellent". Restaurants were a little off. Service at MB's was slow. Appetizers at Italian restaurant were ice cold. Did not take drink orders at Asian till after appetizers were delivered. General service was off. In fact we went off property 2 times to insure it was not us. We dined at Puerto Madeira and La Habichuela and both were excellent. Love the Team but a few things were off
"Met my high expectations"
We just returned yesterday from a week at LA. If you've perused the reviews, and I certainly did, you know the service is friendly and attentive, and the habenero soup at MB is a "don't miss". Those and the other often repeated tidbits are all true. I will try to add a few points that I hadn't read in advance. We had an "ocean view" room and our's was on first floor. The view was lovely, although from that low we could not see the beach. The palm gardens transitioned right into that beautiful aqua water. We did have the option of moving higher after the first couple days, but did not choose to do that. We checked in fairly late, so did not get the hand massage, although the desk attendant did suggest we could come down for that the next day. The room was clean and a nice size. There were plenty of drawers and hangers for our clothes. The beds in the room were comfortable, but the chairs in the room were not. We did use the aroma diffuser in the room. They have a menu of scents and it is gentle. I'm one to fuss about any floral scented candle that may appear in my home, but this was fine. At dinner they will ask if you are celebrating and event that evening. When we told them on the day we were celebrating our 35 anniversary, we came back to find our room lighted by candles in flower petal cups along the floor and also floating in a hot bath. It was lovely. It wasn't the easiest tub (a bit narrow) for a couple of older and less svelte folks to share, but it was fun. No pictures included. The breakfast buffet at Siete was always good. I really enjoyed the omelettes, and my wife the smoothies. Our favorite lunch spot was Sea Corner with great views and tasty ceviche and other sea food bites. The chips and guac at Sea Corner were fantastic! We tried to get there right at 1:00 when it opened, as there are not many tables. We ate at Hidden Gardens three evenings, as my wife fell for the fish with mango salsa. I tried just about everything and didn't hit a clunker. It does tend to tilt towards medium spicy on many dishes. We ate at MB twice and I really loved the tuna appetizer. Those were my favorite meals and perhaps the best service which is saying a lot! Azur and Varena dinners were also lovely. There is a list of activities for each day that comes out new each Monday. Not all of the listed activities actually happened. We went to Inlaakech to see (and taste) the paella lesson, but left after hanging (and snacking and drinking) for 45 minutes when it looked like the chef wasn't going to show. We also went to AKA bar one evening to see about having our caricature done by and artist who also seemed to be a no-show. It seems like it could be very easy to have a text alert set up for anyone who would like to know when and where these events are actually going to happen. We spent most days down on the beach under a palapa. They give more shade area than the umbrellas, and we could move our chairs as needed to stay out of the sun. We did rent a cabana on our last day and that was very comfortable. It's much less windy by the pools than down on the beach. We didn't find we needed to get down there early at all get a place. We tend to dine early so we almost never had a wait for a table. It was never hard to get a drink anytime we wanted, by either catching the server's eye or taking a short stroll to one of the very convenient bars. The week we were there they did have a section of the beach open to swim. I enjoyed swimming out a ways to the second sandbar and hopping the breaking waves. The sandy bottom is great for playing in the surf when the beach is open. I'm a runner and had hoped to do a long beach run each morning. This is a very challenging soft sand beach and I had to rethink what is a "long run". It took a few days for my calves to forgive me for the first 5K. My wive enjoyed going down early to the main pool and swimming laps for an hour. She pretty much had the pool to herself. There is a very nice indoor gym, but who wants to be indoors''' The elevators don't "ding" which is nice if your room is nearby, but the doors close quickly so you have to pay attention when waiting. The save has an outlet so you can charge a phone or tablet in there. Nice touch. The fridge is kept stocked with snacks and drink, but we found we rarely made it back to the room either hungry or needed a canned drink. The provide on large water bottle for the room, but we left a note and asked for two, and they did that for the next several days without being asked. We never used room service. Our daughter and her husband have vacationed here twice and greatly enjoyed it as well. We hope to have a chance to go back to Live Aqua with them one day. In the meantime, I highly recommend this place for a very pampered and relaxing vacation.
