"The appearence of an elegant storied history yet the hotel is only 13 years old."
Simply a fantastic experience in every manner and form!!! This Five Diamond Inn provides any and every thing you could possibly want without the requisite arrogant attitude exemplified by typical high end hotels. Great care is given by all to make each guest's experience memorable and personal. Given the choice between Pebble and Torrey...It's a no-brainer. I'll take The Lodge at Torrey. While I normally don't take advantage of Concierges, the engaging Lisa Marie & Jessica make a point of finding some way to add that little extra to your stay...whether your asking or not. Take the time to meet the staff. All are smart, articulate and well rounded. None that I spoke to, including wait staff, had worked at the lodge for less than four years. The unflappable doorman, Chris, provided the most hospitable welcomes. He is versed in all of the Lodge History (as all the staff) including the tail of the Torrey Pine he personally planted 13 years ago right in front of the entrance. While always diplomatic, he'll provide you with many laughs and you'll walk away, most assuredly, with a smile on your face (he finagled a job at the Lodge by agreeing to work Christmas Eve as his first shift when there was the immediate need). I could go on and on, however, you should simply pull the trigger and experience it for yourself!!! I promise it is impossible to leave The Lodge without a sense of ownership in one of the best kept secret treasures on earth. If you are booking for a business get-away, Melissa will make certain to do all the difficult preparation required to ensure all appears effortless during your stay. JUST BOOK IT!!!!!!!
We spent a rainy weekend at this hotel. We were given a Signature two queen room which has an unimpressive view of the botanical garden. Despite the view of the garden it still was tranquil and relaxing if you don't want to hear any noise, except for the military jets sometimes passing overhead. If you are a golfer I highly recommend you book a golf view room, you won't regret it. We enjoyed the comfortable beds and slept very well, basically passed out without any noise interference. The staff is friendly and helpful, be aware there is a $25 overnight self parking fee.
"Charming and Elegant"
When you drive up and walk into The Lodge at Torrey Pines it almost seems as if you are walking into a mountain chalet - only it looks across the world famous Torrey Pines golf course on out to the pacific ocean. While this might be an older hotel it has kept up with the times and stays current maintaining a nice balance between its original charm only in the 21st century. The rooms are spacious, cozy and feel more like a being in a cabin than a hotel room. This is a great property that feels like your getting away, but only a short drive to downtown San Diego.
This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. Service was excellent and rooms were clean and roomy. It has gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean. A. R. Valentien - Delicious breakfast. We would go back just to enjoy that meal again!
What a great hotel and festival! This my 4th beer festival here, but the first time we stayed here! What a beautiful resort our room was specular and spacious ! We upgrade to a suite on the ground level with our patio accessible to the festival. It was fantastic to be able to get out of the sun and eat seating at our patio! The event was fabulous best food ever and unlike past years to best locations didn't run out of food! BTW the beer parings were superb! The event was busy but not over crowded. The staff was efficient and friendly no table was left with dirty dishes. Now the best part of our stay the suite! We had 30+ people over to our suite after the event for drinks and party! Tons of room to chat and party. Do yourself a favor book you room with the beer event tickets included you'll save $130.00 if you buy separately! A big thank you to the Lodge manager Bill Gross and his staff for a great weekend. We'll defiantly be back next year for the same accommodation!😊 Ray Deschenes
