On a recent visit to California we were able to spend a few nights at the lodge at Torrey pines and we really thought it was a nice hotel. Beautiful grounds and hotel. The hotel definitely has a lodge feeling to it. It's decorated in that kind of decor. Our room was a standard king room. But, very nice. Spacious. Very nicely decorated. A huge bathroom. A very comfortable bed and nice bedding. They have pool which was nice. And of course there is a golf course there if you want to golf. We did not golf. There are restaurants there. We only had breakfast there. And went to the cute little bar at night for drinks. Food and drinks are a little on the pricey side though. It's located in a nice area. It's not in a very busy are. But, close enough to areas if you want to do things. Close to La Jolla, Del Mar and even San Diego. They have a courtesy car and driver you can use if you are going with in 5 miles of the hotel. We used it a couple times. Very convenient and the drivers were very nice and helpful. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and wished we could of stayed a little longer. We would stay here again if we go back to this area.
"Wonderful Weekend "
It was great to stay in a traditional looking hotel. The rooms were in California mission style but had the comfort and convenience of modern amenities. Comfortable beds. The best feature was the view from our balcony-greens of golf course and the ocean just beyond. The sunset was perfect. We ate at the grill. The food and service was great. We'll be back!
"Timeless, Relaxing, & Where YOU Are Appreciated"
Confession, I am not a golfer. By that I mean I am less likely to be good at golf than say chosen to be an astronaut. So, in that context, I was pleasantly surprised, pleased and impressed by the Lodge at Torrey Pines. I live in a pretty nice lodge style, Frank Lloyd Right themed home, so I somewhat understand and appreciate detail, and here you will find architectural detail everywhere. It's rustic, it's comfortable (and then some), and the staff understands that a happy guest is a returning guest - a rare realization at many establishments today. I repeat, the staff are outstanding here, all of them (from house keeping, to groundskeepers, to chefs, to management). Pretty darn hard to think of any better execution of teamwork that I have ever seen at a resort. Dining here is other worldly, and even pulled off well when large groups are served. Someone behind the scenes here should be proud, this is special. Details, details, details. I plan to return, as often as time and resources allow. It's a place where everyone can relax, and everyone can interact effortlessly. Simply rare, and absolutely a place I will recommend to everyone wishing to experience the best of the best.
"Torrey Pines is Pure Magic"
Torrey Pines is clearly a special place to anyone who walks through the front doors, and we felt that the moment we arrived. From the service, to the room, to the view, to the food, etc. it was a magical stay and one we will treasure for a very long time.
Unfortunately we did not stay here but, family friends stay here every time they come to La Jolla, which is quite often. In fact my aunt who lives in La Jolla, will stay at the hotel when our family friends are in town. This place is beautiful! We were lucky enough to have a private room for dinner, hosted by our family friends. The staff was completely on point and the food was phenomenal!
