"Excellent Service and Location and Way Beyond Expectations!"
I should preface this review by noting that I have been to Montreal on a regular basis for the past 30 years. I lived in Montreal as a teenager and went to McGill where I met my future husband, so we have traveled to Montreal at least twice a year, every year to see family. This was my first time at the Loews Vogue. We have previously stayed at the Ritz, the Hotel Bonaventure, the InterContinental Montreal, the Queen Elizabeth, the Westin, the Hilton Garden Inn and the Omni, among many others. I must say that the Loews Vogue was beyond our expectations. It has Location, excellent Service, great Check In, fabulous Bar and Restaurant (La Societe), fast and wonderful Room Service and modern/ elegant room decor. We also got a fantastic room rate as the business rate that was given to our host company was extended to us when we extended our stay from 2 nights to 5! That was very nice of the hotel to do so AND as I had signed up for the Loews Rewards program just prior to arrival, we were given credit for all five nights. Not bad! The host company had arranged for a suite and the hotel graciously extended our stay and rate in the same room. The bathroom was huge with marble floors, granite counter tops, a large separate shower, double sinks, a wall of mirrors and a corner jacuzzi tub. The amenities were generous and even included bath salts for the jacuzzi. I was in it every day. There also was an extendable lit vanity mirror. Our room was a suite so was on the larger size with sofa bed, a wall of windows, desk with electronic connections, mini bar, etc. There were two large screen tvs on both sides of the dividing wall between living room and king bed area. The entry was large with two ledge tables and a well lit vanity area. Large closet, lots of hangers, robes, etc. We had three people and the sofa bed was used and was very comfortable. The room faced the front and was quiet. We were on the 9th floor and the secured exercise room was just down the hall. The place is quite zen. Everything you could possibly need was in the room, but if not it was a phone call away. The location is fantastic, in the "Golden Mile", on Mountain St (Rue de la Montagne). This street was known as "fashion street" back in the day and still has that vibe. Ogilvies (a high- end dept store with beautiful windows and LV) is directly across the street, St. Catherine's street (the shopping avenue downtown) is on the corner and a brand new Four Seasons is being built diagonally across from the hotel. As much as I like just about any Four Seasons, in this case I will continue to stay at the Loews Vogue because it has a high end look and service but retains the feel of a boutique hotel. And also, the Ritz Carlton is 2 blocks up on Sherbrooke, and it is easy to go for drinks and dinner there but I much prefer the rooms at the Loews Vogue! BTW, we watched the Christmas Parade from our window, on the Saturday after American Thanksgiving. (Note: Canadian Thanksgiving is in October on Veterans Day). The window ledge is wide and I put a pillow on the ledge and watched the parade. It sure beat being out in the cold that weekend. Also, the hockey arena (Bell Centre) is just two blocks away so this hotel is really well situated for events, concerts, hockey, restaurants, shopping, walking tours of the Golden Mile, etc. Last but not least, the friendly people were the best part of our stay at the Loew's Vogue. From the doormen/ valets ( Nicholas, don't pronounce the "s") to Reception (Germaine) to Pascal, the manager/ sommelier and also our waiter, at the on-site restaurant La Societe, to the excellent housekeeping staff, hats off to all of you. You really made our stay. We will return!
"Makes any trip to Montreal worth it"
The location of this hotel in Montreal is perfect. Near Crescent Street with all the Restaurants and bars withing walking distance on or off Crescent Street. Its only a short cab ride to Old Montreal. The rooms are delightful, large and definitely qualify as a 5 star hotel room. The staff is personable and extremely helpful and friendly. The wait staff at the restaurant is exceptional and makes you feel at home. The food is good and it completes a fully circle of a delightful experience.
"Consistently very good!!"
My third review... stayed here again. Still amazed at the size of the bathroom (shower AND tub), HUGE mirror; the fixtures have been upgraded since I last visited: newly tiled shower, new faucets, new electric. Bed still incredibly comfortable, big room, nice entryway, closet with lots of hangers. I was on the 2nd floor in the front and was amazed at how quiet it was. Construction on the new building across the street began at 7am, and Montreal's streets are a mess right now, but this hotel is a gem. And the banquet food is superior.
"First trip to Canada was a success "
Let me just start off by saying from the moment we arrived at the hotel we were greeted with happy gestures from valet grabbing our luggage and pointing us to the right direction. Staff Guillaume very kind, told us everything we needed to know to get the most out of our Montreal experience and helped us with our luggage to the room. Every staff member at this hotel is very kind and the rooms are friggin amazing plenty of space and the bathroom in the room we had was amazing. Our last night in Montreal, the girlfriend and I were planning on going on st. Catherine's street to have a great night so we decided to start off at the bar in the hotel. Well let me tell you staff member madam Francine was such a nice lady, such a great time such a joy to be around that we ended up staying at the hotel bar the whole night because we were having such a great time with Madam Francine. Very happy about this experience will be back again to stay at this hotel.
"So convenient and comfortable "
We always stay at the Loews Hotel Vogue for our annual holiday shopping trip. Perfectly located downtown, it has a lovely boutique feel, with a beautiful lobby. Our deluxe king room was spacious and modern in decor. A very large bathroom with jacuzzi is great after a day off on our feet ( too bad only one sink). The bed linens are the softest ever. Large windows let in lots of light. This time we ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant La Societe, which was excellent. It has a nice French bistro ambiance and a beautiful stained glass ceiling. The food is very good and not as good expensive as we expected. The staff are not quite as attentive as we would like. This was our fourth stay and we look forward to our fifth!
