Sehr schönes zentral gelegenes Hotel - neu renoviert. Nette Bar... Gegessen haben wir immer auswärts.Comment of P. We had a wonderful experience at the Loews Regency. The location is perfect, two blocks from the Central Park and near lots of good shops and restaurants. The hotel staff is extremely kind and corteous; they really make you feel welcome.Comment of C. ELIANA , Brazil the 2014-04-27
"Excellent service and location"
This hotel is located perfectly for uptown shopping and central park walks. It is definately high value for money compared to some other high-end uptown hotels. Staff is very friendly and helpful and the room are spacious. Some rooms however have courtyard vies which is basically external aircon unit - so try to avoid. Other rooms have great Park Avenue views. The restaurant is not the same value for money as the hotel but the bar is good and popular. Choose other restaurants for breakfast especially. For dinner the Loews Grill is OK but too expensive. The concierge however is excellent and will point you to some great places.
"Overpriced, Overrated, Over the Hill = Clip Joint"
If you are driving to the hotel, you are going to take your life into your hands when you try to unload baggage. Park Avenue is so congested that it is nearly impossible to find the space to unload. Try anything but driving. RECEPTION: There were 4 snowflake millenials standing behind the reception desk. We arrived at 4PM and I was told my suite was not ready and when I asked why and when It would be ready, I was told they would call me and I was dismissed. About 20 minutes later I approached 2 different snowflakes and was curtly told that I was not the only one waiting for a room. Isn't that great if you really want to piss someone off say something stupid like this but these are millenials. I was asked if I wanted to speak to the manager but told them I would let the world know how inept reception was in a Trip Advisor Review. The manager appeared within 5 minutes and told us that we were being comped with a 2 bedroom suite. The SUITE: The suit was large but decorated in a art deco style that was very sterile and cold. The chairs were not comfortable. All the furniture was stained and beat up and it reminded me of a well used Saigon brothel in 1969. There was some noise transference but it would have been tolerable if it were not for a loud screeching sound that occurred every 4 or 5 minutes which sounded like furniture being dragged across a bare floor. This went on all night. I complained the next day and was told that there was no one above me but that it would be investigated. The noise continued for our entire stay but the problem was solved by a pair of Mack earplugs. SERVICE - frankly sucked. There is no turn down service and bed linen is not changed unless you request it. No one tells you this so how are you supposed to request it' There was urine stains on the toilet in the second bathroom and hot water was "iffy" in the shower. There were two bottles of water on the dresser in the master bedroom which we drank. The next day a charge appeared on my bill for $25. The problem was that there was no indication that the water was for sale and there would be a charge. The front desk millenial scowled at me when I demanded the the charge be credited. She did credit the charge. Finally room service was bad as stale baked items were served in the continental breakfast. No one cared when I mentioned it.You also cannot retrieve your car until after 7 AM which is absurd. I guess they want to hustle more stale pastries and bread by making you stay for breakfast. This place may have been top notch at one point but it is bring run like a budget hotel in the South. It is well past its prime. My advice to management would be to shut it down and lease it to a luxury chain that knows how to run a 5 start property. This place abounds with stupid people, penny pinching and scams to part you from your money. If you are driving down Park Avenue to the Regency - by pass it and make a right turn on 55th Street and check into the Peninsula which is a real 5 star hotel.
"Hospitality as it should be!"
Terrific hotel in a great location (close to museums, shopping, dining, shows and Central Park). It's modern, clean, quiet and extremely comfortable. The staff was courteous and helpful. We enjoyed a wonderful stay at this property in NYC.
It is in a great location, located on Park Ave in a quiet area of the Upper East Side and in close proximity to Midtown and Central Park. The entire hotel is very nicely decorated and the room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel staff, ranging from the reservation to the reception and concierge, was professional, friendly, and helpful. The hotel facilities, the restaurant, bar, gym and spa, are excellent. Very much recommended.
"Loews Regency review"
Exceptional first class hotel. Excellent facilities, service and location. A good value for an hotel of this caliber. Attended with my wife and grandson and the accommodations provided us was prefect. The concierge was most helpful in reservations and suggestions of places to visit. Hotel will be my preference on my returns Bob C LA
