"the perfect staycation"
Sometimes we just need a lil break from life. We decided to do a little staycation here at the LoftHotel. The staff at the front desk was very welcoming and attentive to our needs. They accommodated it with a gorgeous loft. We were extremely happy with the quality/price. We even visited the venue which is beautiful, and are considering hosting our office christmas party there. Would recommend this place to anyone who is coming to visit Montreal!
Unacceptable. Various issues. (Drilling early in the morning - renovation repairs, Cold rooms - no thermostat, hot water shortage, blown fuses using their over powered portable heater, parking garage lockdown, staff unable to make decisions - no manager ever available, switched our promised booked room because they were to lazy to setup a cot bed, cheap only provided 1 bottle of water for a family of 4, bath sprayer didn't work, cosmetic issues, had to battle via email with staff regarding their policy of offering a free cot bed for my kids!, coffee machine and filters in room but no actual coffee, shower floor unsanitary, curtains not Professionally installed - huge gaps of light coming through - no sleeping in! This was the Executive Room on their website #502. Management is more concerned about the hotels needs instead of providing excellent guests services. There is no management actual person with a name and a business email address, they are all incognito...Why''' What are they hiding for... So they don't have to be recognized in the industry as professionals! As compensation for all these upsets and countless emails going back and forth with major delayed responses, they offered us after the fact, free can drinks and 1 garage discount of $20.00. I wouldn't recommend staying there unless you are a partying drunken crowd who doesn't care about being told to quiet down / threatened kicked out, and be aware they charge an additional cleanup fee even if the room is left as normal mess standards.
"Terrible Customer Service"
The customer service is poor at this hotel. On the night we came in we were greeted by a woman who absolutely wanted to know which direction we were heading. Yelling at us from the reception to know which room we were heading to. As we got to the room, we were quietly waiting for our friend to get ready to go out for her birthday. We then received a call from the front desk saying that there were too many people in the room, and that we would have to pay an 50$/extra guest. However, there was a full blown party, with loud noise in a room next door. Apparently, if you want to have guests over, or apparently a party at that, you should advise the reception in advance, however we were never told at booking. Since this hotel is known for parties on Saturdays, we didn't think a little quiet get together, before going out would create such a fuss at the front desk. We were called several times, to see whether or not we would be paying the extra money. The staff was also rude, and we will not return to this location. Visited Jan 28, 2017
We spent one night mid-December. We had a suite that was just gorgeous. It was spacious and very typical of a Montreal hotel in a converted building. The suite had a full kitchen, plenty of utensils, large TV, etc. It was immaculate.
"Spacious & hip"
Stayed in 2 different rooms as I had to extend my stay by 1 day. The hotel is very close to restaurants and the bus, I had to commute to Hochelaga every day, so that was very convenient. Both rooms were very clean, tidy and very comfortable. The first room I was In had a nice kitchen, perfect for longer stays. Complete with pots/pans. The second room had not kitchen, but the most glorious bathroom. Each room fits the "loft" name perfectly. The ceilings/walls are very industrial. The rooms are massive, very comfortable for a longer stay. I will definitely stay here again. Skip the breakfast. They had 2 baked pastries that were above average, everything else was not worth the money. (Sugary cereals, yogurt cups, dry bagels/bread). There's a Starbucks up the road (right at the bus stop) get your coffee/breakfast there instead.
