"Very good LA hotel"
Nicely located on a quiet street near Sunset Boulevard, walking distance from lots of nearby restaurants and clubs. Efficient early check in after long flights, very comfortable room with great views of Hollywood. Bright, spacious and clean room, comfortable bed and adequate coffee making, bottled water and fridge facilities. Earplugs near bed not really needed, as fairly quiet once balcony window closed. Good high speed wifi in room and all public areas. Very good breakfast at the Boxwood, good buffet choices and option to order from menu also available. Large well appointed bathroom with shower cubicle and separate full sized bathtub, good quality accessories. Clean and well maintained rooftop pool, gym at lobby level also very good and well equipped. The hotel offers a complimentary limo service to nearby locations, including the Beverly Center, which is otherwise a nice 25-minute walk a couple of km away. All the hotel staff are friendly, helpful and courteous, the concierge desk is excellent and helped us several times with recommendations for restaurants, shopping, entertainment and cabs. Very nice LA hotel with lots of style and character, in a good location and with great staff - highly recommended.
"Washed up and sloppy"
In need of a refurb and some staff training. Staff was to terrible at the roof pool. Took forever to get any service. Waited for ages for a simple bottle of water and mezze platter. Booked a higher grade room only to find dirty towels, broken glass on floor. pathetic coffee machine with weak horrible coffee. Broken cupboard doors. Does not warrant the price but then again LA is seriously lacking in decent hotels so not sure where you go.
Amazing hotel!!! The Jewell of LA!! Elegant, cool and spotless. The room was amazing, 9th floor !! Best pick of AMEX Fine Hotels. The staff was so nice and helpful. The gym is incredible. Great Definitely will stay again.
"An Unexpected Surprise"
My girlfriend and I decided to stay at The London for our trip to LA for a few days. Upon arrival, the atmosphere, customer service, and overall vibe of the Hotel were top-notch. When we were greeted at the front desk, Danielle made the check-in process effortless. At that time, she informed us that we were going to receive a complimentary room upgrade. We had originally booked the standard London Suite room, and she informed us that due to some circumstance, we were being upgraded to a Metropolitan Suite. It was too early to go up to the room, but they kindly held our bags and we spent the day at Universal Studios. Upon coming back from a day's activites, Lucas at the front desk was very helpful in getting us situated. We got our keycards, and our bags had already been taken up to the room. We walked into the double door suite to find a massive apartment-like room that was absolutely perfect. It was clean and very well decorated. For convenience, they operate a text message based service system, so while we were out on our second day, a simple text request got our room turn-down service and a bathroom re-stock. Finally, the breakfast was excellent, especially the complimentary portion, and the pool was also very nice and had beautiful views. I would say I would be very happy to visit again, as our stay was outstanding.
"Simply The Best"
Wow. I've stayed at several boutique hotels but this takes the cake. Every room is a suite and it's just fantastic. Clean, well appointed, the bathroom was like a spa with soaking tub, walk in dual showers all done in white glass 1 inch tiles The pool is on the roof and the views are spectacular. You'll spend a dime but it's worth is. We ran into Regis and his wife at breakfast and they sat right next to us! Go if you have the means.
