"Enjoyable and comfortable experience"
I really loved this hotel spacious room and bathroom, room service everyday, the cleaners did a good job. Towels are changed everyday, breakfast had variety. I only had bed and breakfast so cannot comment on lunch and dinner. During the week they have dance acrobatics which is very fun. There is a spa and gym costs you about 15 euros per entry but cheaper if you go more than 3 times. Playa de las americas is full of many restaurants and bars you will always find somewhere to eat if you enjoy eating out. If you are looking for relaxation or a night out this place I highly recommended. Enjoy the beaches, I would recommend some excursions to the Camel park, Loro Parque and Garachico. The tourist shop is right outside the hotel. Receptionists were very helpful in the checking in and out experience.
I'm sorry but this is one of the worst 4 star hotels in which I stayed in. Virtually not one thing was not on the level of 4 stars. We had a family room in the ground floor from which there is no view- concrete wall, the furniture is worn out rugs in the room are not hygienic, outdoor vent is too loud, behind the closet are some sort of animals which make noise over the night. Every thing in this hotel is for fee - safe deposit box, wifi ... Dinner- you need to wait in line for free table, running out of plates and cutlery- also at breakfast- it is unacceptable for 4 star hotels. Management it is time to wake up!
"Not what we expected!"
We had previously read, with trepidation, some of the reviews about the Gala Hotel in Playa de las Americas, Tenerife. This holiday was subsequently booked as part of our Honeymoon arrangements. We arrived at the Gala Hotel around 4pm on Sunday the 23rd of October 2016. My wife and I expected a warm welcome, but unfortunately we got a miserable very curt female receptionist who was a bit arrogant. In actual fact she had the worst attitude that we have ever known. We go on holiday to be treated well, not like 2nd class citizens! She subsequently gave us a dirty, stuffy, dark, dismal and very dated room! The view from the balcony was like looking at Beirut, including the barbed wire! I took some pictures of our room and these are shown at the bottom of this review. Our room was definitely nothing like the pictures we had seen online, and in our opinion not the bedroom of a 4 star hotel! We immediately informed the reception of our discontent but they seemed completely unconcerned and obnoxious. We asked to be allocated another room, but were told the Hotel was full and they couldn’t move us for three days' This was the worst hotel service my wife and I have ever experienced. We didn't buy drinks or snacks because everything would be charged to the room key. Our evening meal was an absolute disgrace! We are not fussy or picky eaters, but this was the most appalling and tasteless buffet we have ever come across. In addition, the breakfast was an absolute joke. The hotel was obviously catering for French and German guests with little consideration for anyone from the United Kingdom. If you are British then we would suggest that you avoid staying in the Gala Hotel! The Gala Hotel was a complete disaster for us; therefore my wife and I decided to move out of the Gala Hotel after experiencing the revolting evening meal and the shocking breakfast. We didn't even bother to unpack our suitcases. We went to see the Thomson Rep in the Vanilla Garden Hotel next door and decided to spend the rest of our holiday there. Mike & Liz (Aberdeen)
Good points Lovely gym and spa centre, nice pool area, frendly staff(mostly),ground floor family rooms huge with one queen size bed + two larger that normal single beds, five minute walk from the front.A good kiddies pool and water park for the toddler's. Bad points. The food is the worst I have had in a hotel, the bars are understaffed, with there not being many Brits there (no problem with that),don't bother waiting your turn to get served,it seemed to be whoever leaned over the bar the furthest got served first. All payments are made via your room key then to be settled on your departure,no cash taken over the bars. A few of the waiters rolling there eyes if you take too long too decide on things. Had a belly upset second day,not saying it was the hotels fault, but no hand sanitation gels or creams when entering or leaving the restaurant or throughout the hotel.
"Amazing. Already booked to go back in January!"
We can here as a family of 4, stayed in 2 rooms, beautifully cleaned and the hotel was faultless. Pool was lovely and food was lovely. 5mins to the beach. Recommended to everyone we know! Within a week of being home we have booked to come back in January! Best hotel we've ever been too!
