The Hotel Can Alomar rises in Passeig del Born in Palma, within walking distance from the Cathedral, Plaza Mayor and Palma's main places of interest.
We picked the hotel for a weekend shopping break to the Majorcan capital Palma. 3 Nights, Friday to Monday in November. Pre arrival the hotel made contact several times to make sure they could meet our every need and make suggestions about what we could do while we were staying with them. We arrived earlier than scheduled and despite the rooms not normally being available until after 1pm we were presently surprised to find ours was even though we got there at 12 noon. We were personally shown round the hotel and to our room by the lovely manager and we immediately warmed to her and would thank her for making a stay so special. We had a bottle of Cava waiting in the room on ice and we took it up to the sun terrace and sipped it whilst we unwound. A great way to kick off the our stay. We stayed in room 6, despite being next to the restaurant we never found it to be noisy or busy. The room was furnished to a high standard as you would expect from a 5 star hotel. We paid in advance for the breakfast and it was excellent, I would certainly recommend you take up this option. We had diner in the restaurant on one evening and whilst generally impressed with the food and service I was personally disappointed with the lobster tappanyaki, but don't let that put you off. One of our treats after shopping was to sit on the terrace and enjoy a drink whilst relaxing with a good book. It was never crowded and the hotels hospitality was typified by the measures of alcohol. The location of the hotel couldn't be better, just a short walk to the spectacular Cathedral and within easy walking distance of all the best designer shops in the city. It is certainly worthwhile exploring the streets nearby for the many bars and restaurants which provide an excellent alternative to the hotel such as Café Atlantico located on Carrer de Sant Feliu, just up from the hotel. I would certainly recommend this for tapas and local authenticity. We instantly felt relaxed and will definitely be coming back to Palma for another short break and will be staying at this hotel again.
"Spa Hotel... Really'!"
My friend and I booked a stay at this beautiful hotel. Before our arrival I had email correspondence in to organise some treatments. My friend and I both chose a massage and a facial. We were really looking forward to the spa day we had planned ahead. On arrival to our hotel we were shown around the hotel and to all the amenities (except the spa), it is a beautiful hotel. The restaurant is lovely, the staff not so much. The terrace was cold given the time of year that we were there but as the hotel is situated centrally in Palma it offers a feeling of space and natural city noises that were most welcome. We had supper in the restaurant but felt some what hurried by the staff who at the same time lacked attentiveness and, in my opinion made me feel rather uncomfortable at their slovenly approach. The food, however, was divine. That night we stayed in the room and woke up, opening the magnificent blinds to let in the morning sunlight. It was perfect. Our treatments for the day began with a knock at the door and a man standing there with a massage table... I was confused as I thought the treatments would take place in the spa! Turns out, the spa is actually a small room big enough for one! The masseuse entered with his massage table at 0930 and began setting up for my friend, Amy's treatment. My treatment, a facial was taking place at 1000. I felt a bit awkward to be honest having 30 minutes whilst my friend, not my girlfriend had her massage started whilst I was sat in the bed and didn't really have anywhere else to go. At 1000, I ventured to the "spa" area which now became apparent was just a treatment room and had my facial. It was the worst facial I have ever had! It is important to note here that I run ultra marathons and so massages and facials are something I have a lot of... Massages almost weekly, facials, given I run all over the world are monthly. There was no use of steam, no use of blemish removal... It was a face routine that I could have easily done at home! Very mediocre facial over, I swapped with Amy and had my massage... The masseuse here for me did really well. I had a deep tissue massage for 75 minutes and it was exactly that! Painful bliss do get rid of the aches and pains from the previous week's runs. My massage was coming to an end as Amy's facial finished and she came back in the room, but had to wait in the bathroom for 10 minutes whilst the masseuse continued to finish off my head massage.
"Fantastic room, attentive staff"
On arrival we were greeted by the receptionist who summoned the hotel manager to meet us. We were shown around the hotel and had everything explained to us arriving at our room our suitcase was already there. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. We had breakfast which offered a buffet or a cooked option, both were wonderful.
"Warm welcome in beautiful surroundings"
Had a three night stay here at the end of September. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel like special guests. The room was lovely with views out onto Passieg de Born. Great location in the centre of Palma. We had a massage one day and facial the next and felt very pampered and relaxed by the end of our stay. We ate in the restaurant on our first night and found the food innovative and delicious. Only the weather let us down - torrential rain meant we had to eat inside. It was a great bonus to have a roof top pool and after a morning of sightseeing and shopping we took ourselves up to the terrace for sunbathin and a snooze. All of the staff were charming and helpful.
"Perfect location in the center of palma"
Nice setting with a beautiful terrace where you can have your breakfast and lunch at the restaurant de lima a tokyo which we also recommend. We are regular client of the can cera which belongs to the same group. We took a junior suite nice and confortable. Another goid pointvis the parking next door because it is not so easy to park in this part of palma
