"Waste of money."
we stayed there for 5 nights, as part of out honeymoon. we were looking for a cheap hotel to go on day-trips from, so we were basically looking for a clean room, hot water and a decent breakfast. the room was clean indeed.. Breakfast was a shame. absolutely terrible. I ate bread and peanut butter, and on our last morning we just gave up and went to Starbucks. The hotel is SUPER NOISY. at nights you have the Coco Bongo club right across the street- so there is music up till 2-3 o'clock. and every morning at 8:00 am exactly, a church bell woke us up. moreover the staff was unkind and not helpful at all. just look for another hotel in Playa, this one does not worth your money.
"WILL GO BACK"
There was only ONE problem. They need better signage. Our cab driver couldn't find the hotel and we kept driving around town for 30 minutes. We passed the hotel unknowingly several times. It was our first visit to Playa so we weren't familiar with anything and our taxi driver didn't speak very good English, which created a problem. We came in from Cancun Airport. Thank Goodness our room confirmation & hotel address were texted to my phone, which I kept showing to the driver. Good Landmark for finding Magic Blue Hotel is Coco Bongo, it's across the street about 45 degrees. Once we checked in everything went smoothly. The staff & the breakfast Buffet were great. The hotel is centrally located to LOTS of shopping & restaurants. Had a Timeshare booked for the following day or I would have stayed longer. There is a small pool in the center of the complex surrounded by tropical gardens. I will be returning in the future.
"Is this heaven'"
Room was okay, kind of sterile all white including art work, but the courtyard, however, was beautiful! My granddaughter asked "is this heaven'" when she came to visit. Quiet, except for birds singing. Loved the hammock on my balcony overlooking pool, and pool was lovely as well as poolside bar. Breakfast provided by hotel was great! I would go back. Oh, the folks who worked here were outstanding, all of them!
"The worst stay of our holidays"
1. We had an issue with the booking site we booked through and the hotel was exceptionally unhelpful. The hotel does not even bother to reply to email at all and when they did it was 2 days before to confirm our booking. 2. Upon arrival, reception staff were extremely un inviting and just wanted to get your payment so they could continue their conversation with their colleague. 3. The rooms were clean, however, the shower was broken. When we went to the front desk we were informed that it would be fixed once we returned from dinner. It took two days to fix - they didn't move us and to get hot water we had to put the bathroom sink on as well which always ended up overflowing and soaking our bedroom floor. 4. Breakfast included' Do not do it. It looked vile - my partner and I were subjected to eating out every morning. 5. We ended up spending all our time at the Thompson hotel right near as the front desk were so unhelpful and only suggested affiliated restaurants which were very expensive and horrible food. Specifically the "the alux". 6. Besides for the reception being unhelpful and not friendly there was the bar man who made our stay bearable. Although it is the cheaper option spend a few extra quid and make your playa stay that much more enjoyable.
That's an ok location, close to coco bongo and to the nightclubs..there's a good and beautiful pool and a natural atmosphere too..ok But think about a terrible breakfast' Get it worst! It's really bad... there's no cheese, ham, good breads...you should pay extra for expresso...it's in a bar/restaurant closed to the hotel...it's disapointed. In the end, I wouldn't go back. Prefer paying more to have more confort and exclusivity...
