The Champs Elysees Mac Mahon Hotel is located on the right Bank of the Seine in Paris 17th district. At the foot of the Arc de Triomphe, in one of Paris' most prestigious district, the Mac-Mahon Champs Elysees Hotel welcomes you in an Empire revisited. The hotel enjoys an exceptional setting a few steps from the Place de l’Etoile and the Champs Elysees Avenue and is surrounded by beautiful Paris Haussmann buildings from Napoleon III's reign.
Comment of S. Simon , Germany the 2015-01-14
"The WORST staff I've ever encountered."
This hotel is beautiful. Absolutely stunning decor and a really lovely feel to it. I was upgraded to a suite due to aBooking.com error, so you can imagine I was pleased. The hotel room safe didn't work, and they were unable to fix it, which was a little disappointing. What was COMPLETELY unacceptable was the bat service. I entered the bar at around 8pm. There were possible 4 people in there, all seated and with drinks. The bar was unattended so I waited for around 3 minutes. Not ideal, but I wasn't on a schedule! When the female bartender finally arrived, I asked for a simple Gin and Tonic. Her response was unbelievable. 'I cannot make this as I have to cook dinner for another customer.' I assumed I had mishear, so I asked for clarification. She repeated it! I explained that she could have served the drink in the time it took to say she couldn't. She still refused. It is worth mentioning that I was the only person seeking service. She could have served me and gone to the kitchen (although why a hotel with these tariffs has a bartender also acting as a cool is beyond me). I left and complained at reception. The bartender followed me and tried to stop me by offering to make the drink! Madness. I left the hotel in disgust, only to be called back by the receptionist trying to make me accept a drink. This is an awful level of customer care. On checkout the next day, no enquiry was made as to my stay and no apology for the debacle. This was such a a disappointment. I was in business, and was so impressed by the appearance of the place that I'd wanted to return socially, but clearly that won't be happening. AVOID. Or use the minibar.
Stayed at this hotel as a surprise holiday from my Fiancee from the 13th of Feb until the 15th of feb. We got there quite early as our flight was early in the morning and we had to wait around an hour to get a room available. After giving all our details we were kindly upgraded for free to a better room. I have to say we fell in love with the room as soon as we walked in. The theme of it is just insane! The shower definitely topped off the whole room. I think we spent more time in the shower than in the actual city! The Arc de Triumph was around a 5 minute walk from the hotel, from where we got a tour bus to go to loads of other main attractions. Location is just perfect. However, I do have to point out some of the negatives where the hotel does have 3 times a day room service but even after putting the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door outside, the cleaners still let themselves in while we were in the room. This didn't happen just once, but 3/4 times which was a huge disappointment and didn't make us feel safe even in the night. There was no proper lock on the inside of the door so that we could just lock it and it's not accessible unfortunately. We had a paid breakfast, went down one night and didn't like the food. The staff were very friendly and offered us loads of other stuff but it just wasn't any good for us. Overall, I would say that this hotel is ideal as it is close to main attractions and the theme is really nice too, but we were utterly let down by the constant disturbances of the staff.
"Great hotel in a great location"
We have just returned from a three night stay at this amazing hotel. Everything about our stay was enjoyable and the service we received was smooth with no problems. This hotel has its own unique style which makes a change from the usual boring bland hotel rooms you get with the major chains. Our room was stylish and comfortable with an amazing shower and massive bed. My only negative comment is that the walls were a bit thin so we could hear doors slamming in the corridor but other than that, I recommend this hotel to all. As soon as we came out of the metro station (Charles de Gaulle Étoile) the hotel was literally just round the corner - we could not have chosen a better location as everything is on your doorstep, supermarkets, cafes, metro station, the arc etc etc.
First time to Paris so I researched for a good location and hotel to stay at. After thorough comparison I decided to give Maison Albar a chance and I am really happy that I did! I came for a very special occassion, to surprise prorpose to my girlfriend, and I had emailed the hotel in advance to ask for anything special that they could do - i.e. room upgrade, super early check in. When I arrived at the hotel at 10:30am I was told that a room was not available but the person at the desk was extremely polite and helpful, took our bags and mentioned to come back after 1pm. When I came back we had an upgraded room and after proposing to my girlfriend that afternoon and coming back to our room we found a bottle of champagne and fruits waiting for us in the room, very classy by the hotel! We absolutely loved our quick 2 day trip to Paris and really enjoyed our stay at Maison Albar as we'll always remember it with a special memory. Definitely appreciate the kindness of the staff and we look forward to coming back!
"Beautiful hotel right next the le arc on Champs Elysses"
The interior of this hotel is very lavish and feels very luxurious. Not to everyones taste but we loved it. Mirror on the roof, electric toilet. Our room was small but comfortable and had no view but for the price we paid it didn't matter. Still really good value. The location is excellent right next to le arc and there is bus stop a minutes walk away where you can get on the sightseeing bus and see all of the sights of Paris. It was my 30th birthday trip and the hotel arranged fizz and macaroons for our room which was a lovely touch. I would stay again for sure.
