"Great hotel great location "
Me and my friend spent a nite in Manila as a stop over, well let me tell you it's it what you would expect from a hotel of this calibre, really amazing and friendly staff, great location right next to green belt area where all the bars and restaurants are, and the breakfast was very tasty as well. Looking forward to going back and staying there again.
"Very good hotel in Makati"
This is an excellent choice for the business (or shopping) traveler. It is well located in Makati which is excellent if you have to visit offices near the location. You have as well several shopping malls and eating places nearby. I suspect all activities in this location comparing to other Manila areas, but the experience is satisfactory. I got located in the upper section which is a bit pricier and you have your separate breakfast lounge (which I did not use) but the view was quite open and good and the room was spacious. The hotel has very good services, the personnel is very attentive and willing to help. The onsite restaurants are quite good, and the breakfast is probably the biggest and more eclectic I have ever seen with tons of options for everybody. Gym is top class. Did not use the pool.
"My second home, excellent stay but pathetic Indian food"
I have lost count of how many times i would have stayed here. Perhaps a minimum of 25 nights in past 1 year or more than that. Again coming back this week for 8 nights. The hotel, staff and everyone is excellent but frankly their indian food, variety of indian breakfast and most importantly the quality is paethetic. Their IDLY is so hard that if it is thrown on someone, the person will die. The puris is so OILY that is good to give an healthy person a heart attack. very bad and when we spoke to the chef, they have the best of excuses like we do not have the utensil to fry puris, we dont have the rice needed to make IDLY/DOSA. Is it for real ' Shangri-La cannot arrange such basic stuff whereas 100s of indian resturants around serve 10 times better food. I frankly find this as an excuse. Overall, guys you are excellent in service, fantastic quality. But the excuses on Indian Food quality wont work with me :) Hoping to have better food when I come this time on 23rd Feb Thanks Mangalam
"Valentine's Day 2017"
Stayed two nights at the Shangri-La Makati with my girlfriend, completing our last few days of vacation in the Philippines. Not a single negative point from our perspective, as each detail and amenity that we'd anticipated from the Shangri-La brand, was exceeded: from the breakfast buffet to the comfortableness of the bedding; and from coffee and a bite to eat in the lounge to the attentiveness of the concierge. A few notes specifically about the staff: I'd gone to the concierge upon arrival to request a reservation for dinner in the Greenbelt, adjacent to the hotel. Thinking nothing of it from the request my girlfriend and I left the concierge desk to go to the lounge for drinks. About 45 minutes later, the concierge himself found us sitting in the lounge after not having been notified that we'd be there; and advised that the reservation in fact was not made due to the restaurant not actually taking them that specific night. Nothing too major, but the attention and small gesture meant a lot. Lastly, my flight back to the states left prior to her flight to Hong Kong. So, I sorted the room and checked out while she remained until she had to head to the airport. On doing so, I secured a hotel car driven by a gentleman named Edwin. He was quite personable and professional, and while only a short drive, made the trip very pleasant, After gathering my bags at the terminal, I left Edwin with a personal request that he collect my girlfriend at her designated time and take her to the airport as well. Further, having forgotten to settle things at the hotel...I left Edwin with cash to cover the fee and tip for her trip... trusting him fully to take care of the matter. Later in the day when she and I spoke, she advised that she had the same experience that I did with Edwin. Again... the small things matter. Well done, sir. Thank you Edwin, the concierge and everyone else at the Makati Shangri-La for ensuring our Shangri-La experience was fulfilled. Until next time... cheers. Regards, Steve and Marie
"Pretty good hotel"
The welcome at reception was warm and efficient. The room was comfortable and well appointed. The aircon though made funny noises all night and made it hard to sleep. Bar offered good service and a good menu.
