"Excellent view of Kabbah & local amenities"
Larger than life hotel with lots of access, Very hospitable staff. Despite busy hajj session they were very attentive. best place to stay for Hajj and Umrah. Haram through King Abdul Aziz gate just 3min from the shopping centre, hotel very nicely signposted you want get lost. long as you look up.. good for people with disabilities to stay around that area as toilets are close by, evening is larger than life around that area so if you have walking disability like me pls take all your walking assistance kits like wheelchair, walking tick so on.. Food very nice we had buffy food for weeks. Food from around the world. One advise: Please don’t make your Asian style tea in hotel kettle, some Pakistani guest done during hajj and they were not from back home they came from Europe, Hotel will remove all the tea facility from your room.
"Good view of Kaaba"
Stayed in a junior suite during omrah in Oct 2016, was welcomed by Mr Abdul Malek, guest relation manager, Unfortunately there is a lack of communication between the different sections of the hotel as our safe box was not working and complained several times to the guest managers who kept on telling that they will send someone to repair and till the last day we didn't get anyone to repair it. breakfast buffet was not as expected and no change of variety of food and restaurant on 29th floor was under staffed and not optimum service. we tried to go to the lobby restaurant and was surprised to be stopped by the staff there that we can only eat on the 29th floor.! Housekeeping in general in saudi tend to be miser in offfering the amenities to the guests and lack cleanliness.

"Far Away from What a Fairmont Hotel Is!"
I read the reviews on multiple websites but this is a Brand Name... Fairmont is elegant and elite all around the world.. So I took the reputation over the experiences and it's was a sad decision. I don't know if a manager actually exists in this hotel and if he does how does he feel ruining the reputation and loosely running the magnificent place. I usually start with the positives but the aspect to complement is the building and marble tops. Then all else fails. 1- Valet Parking: I couldn't find anyone in front of the main hotel door to help park or guide to where I can park the car. After heading to reception and asking the receptionist, he said I don't know ask conceirage. Wow you don't know. 2- Check-in: A misery run by 3 people who lack the basics of customer service and are overwhelmed with guests. You have ask them what floor is it' Where are the elevators' Etc... 3- Suite Rooms: Very elegantly finished but poorly maintained. The room stink. The fridge smells. Dust over the tables. So shameful 4- Housekeeping: Call them day or night, no one responds. I asked for an extra blanket from the receptionist, he said that I entered it in the system. An hour later, nothing comes. I call the reception and no one responds. I go down and the receptionist says there requests since 3 hours that have not been attended to. You need to wait. 5-Back in the room on the phone there is something called Royal Service. Call them, thank God they respond but they refer you back to reception.. Ahhhhhhh So sad to see a brand sink but it seems Fairmont doesn't care about this site given the continous poor reviews posted in reviews.
My wife planned this visit over a month back. We had a guaranteed reservation through booking.com and all the family arranged for traveling with the airline. Suddenly, today which is our check in day, we received a cancellation email from the hotel. We call the hotel and they are helpless. Booking.com contacting them and they said that no room available. Unfortunately, I checked other hotels with no luck, so I canceled my airline tickets and had some financial lost, but nothing like the disappointment on haw a confirmed guaranteed reservation was canceled by the hotel. Definitely, I will not trust my plans with them in the future.
