"Spectacular View of Kaba and Mecca from the Hotel. Loved it."
The best Place and City in the Whole World and view from this hotel is spectacular. Masha ALLAH. .. You can have easy access to Kaba and for elderly people its highly recommended. .. Panoramic View of Masjid Haram and Makkah City are very alluring from this hotel.
If you are there for religious purposes the is beyomd perfect location. The hotel is rivbt in front of Haram gate. The upper part hotel rooms of floor 28+ is better. Below that is older and smaller rooms. Food is good. The restaurant is usally crowded. Bathrooms have fungie. No slippers provided. Staff are very cooperati e. Drop off entry location is nkt easy to reach but taxi drivers know their way. Elevators are slightly confusing but yku get used to them after first day.
"All show no go!"
After staying at the hotel Marriott Makkah Jabal Omar, (who were fantastic) I decided to experience one night at the Fairmont using complimentary night earned by staying at The Savoy (London). As a Platinum Member I would have thought I would have earned some privileges. A simple request to pick up bags from the Marriott to Fairmont was denied. (Don't expect a complimentary pickup/shuttle) The entrance of the hotel is via a mall or a basement parking level !!! The lifts are confusing upon entry. The reception is slow and ill informed... took 15 minutes to get to the executive check in desk on the approx 28th floor. (DONOT EXPECT TO CHECK IN AND BE IN YOUR ROOM QUICK) The reservation department charged a card for a complimentary night. The card linked to my account wasn't the one I was using in Saudi Arabia only for The Savoy (London). Without my permission charged my card an amount never mentioned to me. Although the amount refunded the amount charged they did not refund the £26 charge of a transaction made in Saudi Arabia. Despite explicitly stating to the US reservation team upon booking (who are great on the phone) and confirmed in the notes I received of a two bed room. No second bed was arranged. Housekeeping had to arrange putting a bed that evening. The phone had a Dr. Mansour name not mine which seems I had been bumped down from my Platinum Member room. The room one in was okay. The view is one of a kind and the luxurious in room amenities were plentiful in the two shower rooms provided. Breakfast was good, but nothing different to what we had at the Marriott Makkah Jabal Omar. Clearly the property is iconic, the facilities have real potential but the service and operations need a real kick in the right direction.
"Visit for pilgrimage"
For Prayer: The location of the hotel is fantastic- not just because it is SO close to the Haram, but also, that it's own prayer area on level S2 is considered being part of the Haram - so if you are with kids, or even alone, you can quickly hop down to S2 level and be part of the Jamaat. You also have speaker controls in your room, so you can choose to hear the azaan and jamaat in your room, and be part of the jamaat in your room. WIFI The rooms were great - but be very clear about the wifi access when booking the room - we found out later that our wifi was not free, despite calling the reception to confirm, and we ended up paying 80 SR/ day when checking out. Breakfast: Hotel's breakfast was pretty decent with enough choices for both breakfast (and lunch items) - ask for extra tea bags if you like strong tea. Shopping Mall: The hotel's ground floor has a shopping area that gives you enough choices for hadiyas (tasbeeh, prayer mats, Ajwaa etc. however keep in mind that if you're getting a tasbeeh for 35 SR here, you'll get it for 25SR out in the street shops) and a food court on the top floor with quite a few choices. However you'll find, fried items are most popular there! Sabeel: Step out of the hotel towards the Kaaba. On the left there is a building with local restaurants. You can go to them and ask if they do "Sabeel" (free food for the needy). The best time is Lunch (after Dhuhr prayer) or Dinner (after Isha prayer). You can feed one for as low as 4 SR/ person.
"Excellent location and breakfast"
Hi, I have visited this hotel with my wife. First, I had to wait for more than 1 hour to find a free room for me even so I had arrived at 3:00 . However, be aware that check in timing is 5:00 p.m for this hotel. Service is too slow when I ask for dental kit and universal adaptor it arrived after 2 hours . Wifi is 50 Riyal per day.
