+ Nice hotel, excellent Ka'aba view, walking distance to every where,. - price is expensive, as every hotel in Makkah in Season of Ramadan , room cleaning service staff always looking for tips, food in buffet could be a bit repeatitive
"As close as you can get to Haram!"
Stayed for 3 nights for Umrah and got a good advanced booking package. It is very close to Haram so easy to take breaks during prayers and worshipping, when you have two small kids. The hotel lobby has modern touch with very professional and courteous staff. The suite had great views, including partial Kaaba view, and all perks and facilities provided. There is business centre, gym and spa which I am not sure are used by majority of travellers/guests. The in-room dining has generous portion size and room service is up to the required standard. The morning breakfast buffet with live cooking is worth it and the chefs know how to cater for different taste buds. Did enjoy the Arabic Qahwa after returning from prayers and chat to the friendly lobby manager. The hotel is part of Abraj Complex so food courts and shops are a lift ride away. On the flip side, please leave early from the room to make it to Haram as the Abraj complex lobby fills up very quickly with worshippers after Adhan. I wouldn't recommend buying touristy items such as Abaya or dates from Abraj, as they are much pricier than you can find 5 mins walk away, although the western brands are only available there. The reason for booking, location! location! location!
"Not worth the price"
We stayed here for 7 nights in a Hajj package this year. The hotel is large, clean and well decorated and the staff generally try to be helpful but not up to the mark for a five star hotel. The guys in housekeeping were brilliant and extremely efficient. Free bottled water, tea/coffee, sugar etc provided daily was a good thing but the buffet dinner menu kept deteriorating with the passage of time. Another minus was the wifi which was not free; costing 50 or 80 riyals per day, depending on the service one wanted. Lifts proved to be insufficient especially at time of prayers. The praying area at S2 level, overlooking the Haram, was wonderful and very convenient. The shopping mall at lower levels proved to be extremely expensive. The big convenience of the hotel was accessibility to the Haram at all times, it was just outside the main entrance of the Clock Tower. Considering its standard and facilities provided viz a viz other great hotels around the world, I would not grade it as a truly five star hotel.
My husband and i stayed here for 6 nights as part of a Hajj package with our group. The hotel is fairly new and well presented. Staff try to be helpful but their English can be very limited. We had paid extra for a double room and we were happy with the room. The cleaning was ok although I'm pretty sure our sheets were never changed, just made up each day but we never took up it up with the staff as we were so busy and we hadn't spoiled the sheets or anything so it wasn't a huge problem. Free bottled water each day was good. Room service very expensive so never ordered. We arrived to find out that wifi was not free of charge and cost 50 riyals a day! We were not impressed at all and did not purchase wifi. Lifts were ok but a bit of a pain and at times very busy. You need to get a lift to the reception floor and then another to the shopping centre floor to access the Haram. We had breakfast and dinner included and the range of food was good. We enjoyed our meals there. Im not sure i would stay again due to charging for wifi and inconvenient lifts.
"Efficient and reasonable hotel"
Stayed during hajj responsible staff since it was hajj hotel was full of guests , we were booked for all three meals in one restaurant throughout the stay so the food became boring and we chose food court of adjoining mall overall food quality and service is quite good and efficient
