"First time to Stay in Mandarin Oriental"
We arrived at the hotel on Feb. 19, 2017, around 7:10PM. I called the concierge to arrange free shuttle from ferry terminal to the hotel, the type of the car was Mercedez-Benz Vito, it was pretty nice. There were two mandarins on the table, good fruit. The room number was 2302, we were able to observe the bay. We checked out around 1:15PM, next day, it was cool staff.
"Impeccable service and great location"
We only had the chance to stay one night but those 24 hours were just what we needed to relax and recharge. What continues to set the MO apart from other hotels is its flawless service. - First, there is a personal pick-up from the Macau ferry terminal (the hotel emailed us to ask what time we would be arriving) which means it is not necessary to jump onto the MGM hotel minibus in order to get to the hotel. It's this kind of first impression which really makes all the difference to one's stay. - The check-in team were on hand to greet us on arrival so we could check in directly inside our room itself (or maybe this was because we had a corporate booking'). - The gym staff and Vida Rica team and housekeeping could not have been more helpful in an elegant and understated way. Likes: - The impeccable service as mentioned above. - The fact that this is one of the newer luxury hotels. As such, the rooms, lobby and restaurant are modern and have not begun to show their age. There's always something nice about staying in a new hotel! - The wonderful restaurant (Vida Rica) which is stunning. Think black elegant marble and muted metallic colours. Even though we did not dine here, we could enjoy the beautiful venue for our buffet breakfast . - The location. It is just by the bridge if you want to take the taxi to Taipa (to visit the casinos, old village and excellent restaurants) and is also within walking distance of the main sites on the Macau peninsula (e.g. ruins of St Paul etc). - The spacious room (we had a corner one - 2012 - with views of Grand Lisboa and the Macau Tower) with all the mod cons, twin sinks, motion-sensor drapes which opened after coming back from breakfast (very cool!). - Unlike many of the hotels in Macau there is no on-site casino or themed attraction so if you want to avoid the many tour crowds and gamblers, it's perfect. Of course, this experience does not come cheap but the time we went (late Feb) was during the low season and we were able to pick up a very reasonable deal. You don't need to be film stars or musicians who are "Fans" of MO. And, quite honestly, you are still made to feel very special. We will come back again!
Just flawless from the ferry pickup with 30min notice to in room checkin, the incredible Michelin starred restaurant, friendly staff, terrific views and large rooms. One of our best ever hotel experiences. Loved it.
This hotel is outstanding and well located for taking in the Macau tourist attractions. It's connected to the MGM and its shopping malls, and across a small road to the Wynn, meaning you can easily get to shows and shops whenever you like. Our room was on the top floor with views over the harbour back towards the city. The rooms are large, with remote controlled blinds that open and close automatically when you enter/leave the room, and are easily controlled by the side of the bed. The bathroom is what you'd expect at the Mandarin Oriental, luxurious, spacious, with all of the fancy amenities. The breakfast restaurant is quiet compared with other 5* hotels, and the buffet was lovely. We had an evening meal in the restaurant, and while not inexpensive, was delicious and a beautiful dining experience. They also drove us back to the ferry terminal at the end of our stay and I was surprised that their van had wifi. In terms of quality, service & luxury, we could not fault this hotel.
"Very fine staying in Macau"
Very fine hotel with friendly and attentive staff Very fine staying in Macau, good location, walkable distance for the city centre (15-20 min). Good place for relax with quiet environment and pampering yourself. Our room was magnificient with view to Taipa skyline and sea channel between Macau and Taipa. To access there is no direct free shuttle bus to Mandarin Oriental, you need to take the one to MGM and walk through the shopping mall.
