"Amazing stay with family...we extended a day!"
Truly an incredible stay from the moment we checked in. We extended our stay by a day just to enjoy the hotel's amenities (and the Miami weather helped!). We are a family of four - with a five and three year old. Everyone was super friendly. My husband and I felt like we were at an "adult hotel" and yet our children were always greeted and treated like they belonged. A special thanks to the concierge team - Italo, Andrew and Carlos. These guys know what they are doing! Rom the best family beaches to Zoo Miami to Wynwood! And when we extended our stay - it was seamless. no change of rooms - business as usual.
"Disappointing for the Mandarin Oriental Brand"
When staying in Miami (and the Brickell Key area), don't consider staying at the M-O. Disappointing experience given the high-quality reputation the M-O brand represents. The rooms are okay and a bit tired -- small things that can easily be replaced (deskpad and other accessories). In addition, the wall space behind the bed had body oil on it....not cleaned. Since the hotel is in a residential area, plan to walk for any sundries or even your daily coffee. The hotel indicates there is a sundry shop in the hotel, but there is not. Also, there is no coffee shop (a small self-serve set up that appears at 6 a.m. for a few hours). I had a small delay upon arrival -- needed to get access to my room right away but an attendant was conducting turn down service (at 5:30 p.m.). After inquiring at the front desk, they gave me a new room right at the elevator lobby. Not great customer service.
Mediocre is the word I'd describe this hotel. I'm sat writing this review at the desk in my room, my girlfriend is using a Dyson, quiet hairdryer, in the bathroom which had a trendy but noisy feature of not having glass between the bathroom and bedroom. Other than that the room is acceptable, AC is quiet and accurate. Pool area is limited and pool side bar food was ok but slightly expensive. Just came back from wanting to eat breakfast, saw 40% of tables empty outside and requested to sit outside but the miserable girl on reception said they were all booked. Firstly I don't like being lied to, none of them were set for food, secondly there was only half an hour left of breakfast sitting... Oh and yesterday having made our orders at breakfast it took so long that we had to leave without getting served.... This time period was not a short one. Given I live in the Cayman Islands and that Miami is our go to place means this year alone I've been here 3 times and we are only in February... Will I come back, no, there is too much competition and better places. In summary the hotel is dated, service was bad and the layout and facilities were average. Oh and in case you missed it I do not like being lied to. I'm confused by the review scores given on this hotel...
"Held party there"
Absolutely amazing. Staff is so nice and the hotel is beautiful. Wonderful hotel. I couldn't be happier with the service that was provided to us for our corporate event. Last minute issues were solved with ease. Our event was a huge success.
We came to Miami from San Diego for my 40th Birthday, and we stayed at the Mandarin Oriental. We were so happy with the service, the care of the staff, the cleanliness, the modernity of the rooms, the location, the pool, the workout facility - it was all amazing! We have never stayed at a Mandarin Oriental before, and now we are raving fans!
