My husband and I decided to splurge and stay at the Mandarin Oriental for two nights to celebrate a special anniversary. Our trip was nothing short of spectacular. The Mandarin was a perfect choice for romance and respite. Here's why: --the service is really wonderful. Every person we encountered was kind, friendly, and helpful. --when the hotel learned of our anniversary, they sent up champagne, sweets, and a congratulatory note. --our room was beautiful, the bed was heavenly, the bathroom luxurious, and the Central Park views were spectacular. --the location of the hotel cannot be beat. It's a quick walk or train ride to pretty much anywhere. And Central Park is right there! I also think it's advantageous to have the Time Warner shops sharing the building with the hotel as well. We enjoyed some light shopping and picked up treats from Bouchon Bakery. --we took advantage of the pool and gym. The pool is really beautiful! It was also empty when we used it so we had it all to ourselves. --breakfast at Asiate each morning was a true treat. My husband and I are usually too busy for our own good. It was such a pleasure to start each morning by slowing down and savoring a delicious breakfast in such a peaceful and lovely setting. Service was, of course, perfect. Although we only stayed for a couple nights, the Mandarin managed to feel like home for us. We hope to return next year too! Thank you for such a memorable stay.
"The Mandarin Oriental on Central Park is an excellent place to stay."
I have only positive things to say about my recent stay at the Mandarin. I traveled on 2/9/17, the day that a winter storm covered the northeast. The concierge staff monitored my flight status and made sure that a driver was there to greet me at LGA when my flight finally landed. Bill Hawkins was on duty when I arrived. He and the rest of the concierge staff left a delicious bottle of Pinot Noir in my room - it was a wonderful way to start my stay in my beautiful room (room #4210), overlooking Central Park. Room service staff, restaurant staff, front desk staff, cleaning staff - all excellent. My bed was quite comfortable and my room was clean. The location is great, close to everything. I walked to Exhale Spa and took a great Core Fusion Barre class on Saturday. I highly recommend this hotel.
Really enjoyed the hotel while attending the Westminster dog show this week. Location is great. Service was exceptional. Love the bookmark left on my bedside table for the novel I was reading. Food was great, housekeeping was top notch.
"A stunning view for Afternoon Tea"
Highly recommend the afternoon tea here, the views over Central Park are second to none. Food was lovely and the staff were great. A lovely treat. We did not stay in the hotel, we went especially for afternoon tea, definitely recommend.
Really a top notch hotel, beautiful views of central park, room could not be any more spotless and well appointed. Phenomenal restaurant and cocktail lounge. Everything is so elegant & romantic. Great location in Columbus Circle, service is truly great. The cost is somewhat breathtaking, but this is as good at it gets.
